Très utile pour le côté culturel. Mais n’est plus à date pour plusieurs aspects dont les restaus. Les marches recommandées sont excellentes.

Comprehensive is the definitive word for Blue Guide Paris and Versailles. This book contains the detail that the glossy, full color guides consistently lack, and after your trip is over, serves as a great reference. It's probably not for the traveller of the "If it's Tuesday it must be Belgium" ilk, but we like to delve into the area's history, arts, and culture, and can't imagine visiting a city like Paris without our Blue Guide. In the back section, it also contains the best synopsis of the region's history that I've come across, and we found ourselves checking facts in it when all the Louis and Charles's got confusing. Pair this volume with one of the glitzier guides for the photos and you can't go wrong. (And you won't have to buy the tourist booklets for every site you visit.)

This book is okay if you already know your way around Paris, and just want more info about things. But, it is lacking two key things for visitors: admission prices (or even note of the fact that they exist) and, sometimes, phone numbers for places to call and find out. Otherwise, quite well organized and up to Blue Guide's high standards of info. (Best if used together with a Top 10 Guide, or some similar volume that is strong on practical info.)

A weighty book (635 grams), it is unwelcome as luggage when exploring the city. The paper is high quality and very reflective, as is the ink, which makes it hard to read in direct sunlight. Best to go through it the night before and take notes, or use it for research before the trip (and after).

Bad ergonomics are counteracted by detailed information - down to recommended walks and to descriptions of museum exhibits - and by snippets of lessons on history or the arts.

I enjoyed having this guidebook available on my kindle app while in Paris to get quick notes on churches and museums. However, a lot of them already had good signage with more detail, so I didn't find descriptions in the book as helpful as expected. The history of the buildings was often interesting, and was a nice supplement.

E-book a great buy and terrific companion whilst wandering through the Cluny or in bed at your 5th arrondisment hotel planning your next day’s adventures. A wealth of historical and cultural detail. For practical info look elsewhere

I like in depth, historical travel books. This will greatly enhance my trip.

Love Blue Guides and this one is no different. Spent 2 weeks in Paris back in April and this helped us plan and improvise while there.
