is a freelance comic writer and author. He is best known for his work on a variety of spin-offs from both Doctor Who and Star Wars, as well as comics and novels for Vikings, Pacific Rim, Sherlock Holmes, and Penguins of Madagascar.
Cavan Scott, along with Justina Ireland, Claudia Gray, Daniel Jose Older, and Charles Soule are crafting a new era in the Star Wars publishing world called Star Wars: The High Republic. Cavan's contribution to the era is a comic book series released through Marvel Comics titled Star Wars: The High Republic.
The second half of the Adventures in Wild Space series picks up where the first left off, continuing the adventures of Milo and Lina Graf as they try to rescue their parents from the Empire.
The three books contained here wrap everything up nicely, and the is essentially more of the same from the beginning of the series. If you enjoyed the first half, you'll like this. There's some new and familiar characters, which are a pleasant surprise, but for the most part it's the same cast we've come to know and love.
If you're a Star Wars fan and want to experience everything in the new canon, give this a read. If you're in the target age range I'm sure you'll find it fun and enjoyable as well.
The rest of the series was still good and exciting as the first four parts, but listening to them all straight through in a way makes you tired of all the convenient or unbelievable ways the kids make it out of their situations. But then, sometimes the same could be said about any of the books with the adults in Star Wars. So in any case, kids will still like it I do imagine. And these parts still also include the idea of Lothal from Star Wars Rebels, a very nice tie in.
Anyway, I definitely, so very much, loved book 6 - it has Tarkin, and how he is dealing with the parents and kids, and the planet itself - but also mentions his feud with Krennic, and heck yeah did I love that! :)
A nice conclusion to the Adventures in Wild Space series but wasn’t anything that I would want to strongly encourage my kids to read. There was a new planet and species that was interesting in the final book. The middle villain didn’t pay off like you would have hoped. The big villain from the beginning had another easy and simple undoing. I can say I finished the series.
Continues the adventures of Lena & Milo as they search for the parents that the Empire captured. Each of the 3 books finds the children on a new adventure as they work to stay ahead of the Imperial agents tasked with bringing them and their droid in. The freedom of those who call Wild Space home depends in them
These books were fun to read. Book 4, The Darkness had a little too much foreshadowing, which made it predictable. Though it is probably still exciting for its target audience. The rest of the books had fun surprises, making them fun and enjoyable even for adults
These books wrapped up really nicely. I like how connected the second set of stories get and invoke some of the best sub-genres that Star Wars has to offer. Cavan Scott has written so much since these books, but I think these are great for younger readers and fans of Rebels. These books are basically Lost in Space in Star Wars. Loads of fun!
