3.5 stars Slay Me is the third and final book in the Puritan Coven series. This one is Cassie's story. It picks up pretty much right after the events of the second book, Hunt Me. Cassie is a home schooled sophomore trying to navigate her way through public school for the first time. Kyle is a vegan vampire just trying to stay on the straight and narrow.

For the most part, I enjoyed this one, but it wasn't my favorite of the series. It had great humor and the same fun characters as the other books. I did love Cassie's awkwardness when it came to dating. What I didn't love was Kyle. I thought his vegan, environmental, PETA like attitude was a bit over the top. That part, i could have done without. Despite that, this was a good wrap up to the series. The narrators once again did a great job of narrating the story. I definitely recommend this series.

The Story:
This is book three in this series and I have loved reading/listening to them. In this instalment we get more from Cassandra – the vampire hunter daughters, and Vampire Kyle. I loved seeing Cassandra appear in the other books and enjoyed the fact that she got a story, being the younger sister to Van who is in love with vampire Morgan, I wondered how Cassandra;s story would play out. Kyle was bitten by is mother and was set to be a 16 year old for ever – until he decided to kick the blood drinking and live a puritan lifestyle.

This story was like the last with plenty of humour, and the characters you have come to love from book 1 again.

The Narration:
Reba and Alexander have just been the perfect voice actors for this series, I am glad they did all three books and I hope if there is more to come they also get the chance to voice the audio versions. They both voiced their respective parts flawlessly and effortlessly

Homeschool Slayer to High School Sweetheart
Slay Me by Louise Cypress is another great read.  I am so impressed with the whole little world that Ms. Cypress has created. In this book, we learn a lot more about vampires and what would happen if a vampire is a vegan as a human and even more now as a vampire. Out of these three books so far in the Puritan Coven Series, I have to say Slay Me is my favorite. Just like with Bite Me and Hunt Me we have two different points of views, the hero and heroine.
Kyle
The first main character that we meet in this book is Kyle. We learned about him at the end of the Hunt Me when Gwen was talking about him and he is a pretty great guy. Kyle is very passionate about being a vegan, protecting nature and animals rights. He’s very serious about these things and with how he feels about Cassie. What I like about Kyle is that he does care about the environment and want to protect it. What I don’ like about Kyle is that he didn’t trust Cassandra enough to confirm that she is doing everything that she can to help him with his situation.
Cassandra
The second main character in this book is Cassandra. We met Cassandra in the first book as the daughter of a slayer, a regular human, and the sister of Van. We don’t really get much interaction with Cassandra in Bite Me but what we see of her is that she is a very smart and athletic girl who can hold her own in a fight. Cassandra also has always wanted to go to a regular school much like her older brother Van. What I like about Cassandra is that she will tell you the truth even if the truth isn't what you want to hear. What I don’t like about Cassandra is that she has big time self-doubt and lacks the confidence to make friends at times.
Bad Guy
Just like with Bite Me and Hunt Me I can’t really reveal much about the bad guy in Slay Me. However, it actually wasn’t a total shocker. You'll just have to read Slay Me by Louise Cypress to find out who the bad guy is.
Five Stars
Slay Me by Louise Cypress is a wonderful book. Ms. Cypress did a great job with this series. I especially enjoyed following Kyle's progress as a Puritan vampire and how Cassandra copes in a regular high school. I am giving this book a five-star review as it was so so good and had me laughing throughout the whole thing.

Anyways until the next time enjoy this review brought to you by

In this comical three-book series, Cypress explores the depth of friendship, intimacy…and the undead. One boy forced to live in a world full of corrupt politics and…vampires? What is worse than that? You are surrounded by money and power, but what happens when you feel powerless to do the right thing because you are just a teenager? Cypress has some of the classic lore intertwined with some original scenes in the mix, making the third installment in this series one that will be hard for readers to put down.

Kyle Thomas is just another boy with a mother who doesn’t care about it. She is this high class political woman who made it big after the death of her husband. Not only does she not care about Kyle, but she even has her boyfriend turn him into a vampire…she doesn’t even have the gall to kill her own son, but she’ll find someone to do it to keep him under control. Assuming that once he is turned, he won’t be a problem anymore, Kyle takes off and joins the Puritan Coven where he meets Cassandra Xander—the beautiful, fearless, teenaged girl—who happens to be a vampire slayer’s daughter. With little hope to make it into her good graces, he fears that he will be the only one to stop his mother and her boyfriend from taking over the Everglades…and then the rest of the world, leaving destruction in their wake. Can Kyle manage to keep his wits about him and maintain his sobriety enough to fulfil his dreams of an eco-friendly world where there are no monsters like his mother and her boyfriend who are raising a vampire army as fast as they can? After all, who wouldn’t want immortality in exchange for looking the other way?

Cypress has a terrific story-line, filled with creativity, originality and fascinating characters. The pace is very quick, but easy to follow and enjoyable. The story appears to be written fairly well and both narrators, Cendese and Buhr, are able to captivate their audience with their vocal differentiation and tone. This installment does not spare the drama that goes on in a teenager’s life, but it is meant to be satirical and geared toward a young adult audience. With that being mentioned, there are some scenes that appear childish but the intention is that it is from a teenager’s point of view. If you are a reader of young adult and paranormal romance, this may be a good fit. This is the third installment in the Puritan Coven Series; therefore, it is recommended for the reader to start from the beginning. While the first and second books focus on different characters, it is still a direct continuance from the previous story-line.

This is the third book in a series that has yet to fail me. I loved “Slay Me” just as much as the other two. I smiled and felt the tension together with our characters.

The best thing is that each book brings something new. “Slay Me” is the story of little Cassandra, who is not so little anymore. Her awkwardness is very visible and her lack of experience with the social environment of a school is very well described. There are no inconsistencies between the Cassandra from book 3 and what we know of her from the previous books and this is a bonus point for the author.

Kyle is another special vampire. His past is not as bright as one would think. He made mistakes, he hunted, he also repented. Now he is willing to start over, keep his clean behavior and become an activist for animal rights. Yes, I see the irony. The two form an unbeatable team. Once they meet, Cassandra and Logan hit it off pretty fast, but this doesn’t mean the story is over. There is so much action and a twist that, even if one may see it coming, the execution is great.

The narration was as great as in the previous books. Reba Buhr is great and I got used to Alexander Cendese’s tone as well. I see him more fitted for Kyle’s role. He manages to capture the guilt and anger very well. I loved it!

All in all, “The Puritan Coven” has been a delight and “Slay Me” is just one piece of the cake. Louise Cypress has managed to make us feel comfortable enough to read more about vampires. They are quite nice guys and gals J Huh, who knew? Give it a go, if you want to relax and have a little fun! Happy reading!

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Louise Cypress. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

Story: 5 starsNarration : 5 starsOverall: 5 stars. Slay Me is the third book in The Puritan Coven Series.  Cassandra Xander comes from a long line of Vampire Slayers, is a lethal martial arts expert, computer genius and previously home-schooled fifteen year old. This is the year that Cass finally gets to see what regular school is like, and her first impressions were disappointing, to say the least. After being turned into a Vampire at the insistence of his awful mother, animal lover Kyle goes off of the rails, however he is now 'sober' and has passed the Puritan test. Unlike other puritan Vampires who use animal meat as part of their diet, Kyle is an actual Vegan. When he and Cassandra first meet it does not go well and the more that Cassandra discovers, the more suspicious she becomes.  Slay Me is an amusing, heartfelt tale with plenty of action, angst, romance and humour. I think that this is probably my favourite story-line in the series. (And I really enjoyed the previous two books.) I liked Kyle's desire to be a champion for animal rights and the extents that he is willing to go to in order to make that a reality. Both of the narrators have once again managed to bring the story to life in the way that a good actor brings a movie script to life. I cannot fault Reba Buhr or Alexander Cendese's voice acting. Their character portrayals and story-telling abilities make it almost impossible to stop listening.
I was gifted a review copy of Slay Me in exchange for an honest review.

Reviewed on http://bookaddict.live,
Slay Me is the last in the trilogy and concentrates on Cassandra and Kyle. For the first time ever Cassie goes to high School after being home schooled all her life. So when a handsome guy chats her up she thinks he is trying to hurt her, and her ninja fighting skills come out. When she tells parents they tell her he was asking her out not attacking her.
There is only one thing wrong with him and that is he is a Puritan Vampire and being fostered at Morgan’s stepmother and Dad’s house. Kyle is actually 19 but stopped growing at 16 when was turned and on the run. He trying to live normally so he ages, and he is hot for Cassie.
This is a great story right from the word go, hilarious and plenty of payback from the slayers, with crooked Senators, and business men using they vampiric gifts for corruption. I loved this one, but it wasn’t as funny as some of the others. A great ending to a terrific trilogy. The Narrators were Cassie and Kyle, but Alexander had such enthusiasm it was a joy to listen.

Cassie is almost sixteen and at a new school where she is finding it difficult not knowing anyone. She meets the gorgeous Kyle. He was bitten by his mother's boyfriend, with her permission. He is now a Puritan though after spending months at the rehab centre for his condition. Cassie and Kyle become girlfriend and boyfriend. Now things start to happen. An attempt on a life. A kitten - a BIG kitten. Taxidermy. Attack. An awful mother with an evil boyfriend. What a terrific story and such a good way to finish this series. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Some vampire violence, but a good clean story

Funny, intense, dramatic, and a good love story. I love good strong heroines, but I also like strong heroes. I love the twist on vampires in these books.

This book was cute. It remains a different kind of vampire story, still with plenty of humor and originality. The story is clean and appropriate for younger readers. This was a worthwhile, very entertaining read.

Slay me is book 3 in the Puritan Coven Series by Louise Cypress. It is also the 3rd book in the series I have listened to. I am not sure how many books are in this series or will be but I am anxious for it to continue. This is a YA Vampire Romance series but it is a clean read. There is little to no language and no sex so far. Each book features a different couple. One is usually a vampire and the other is either a slayer or just a normal person.

This book features Cassandra Xander. The daughter and sister of Slayers fromHelsing Incorporated. She has been home schooled for the first 9 grades since her family was always moving. Now that she is going into 10th grade she is finally allowed to go to public school since her family is taking up roots and her Mom will be opening a Slayer Academy. The excitement wears off quickly when she doesn't feel like she fits in.

Kyle Thomas who is actually Thomas Kyle is a vampire and at this point will look like a 16 year old forever. His own mother had him bitten. Now 3 years later he is working hard at being a Puritan. This means he no longer drinks blood. It's kind of funny that Kyle is and was a Vegan.

Kyle and Cassandra meet in a parking lot when Cassandra is reading the riot act to a lady who has left her dog in a hot car. Cassandra who has not been socialized does not trust Kyle. But as the time goes on she falls for him.

Kyle's past is coming back to haunt him when he finds out his Mother and Step Father are trying to destroy the Everglades and other National Parks by building motels in them and they are also leaving drained bodies all over. Kyle takes it upon himself to go after them and end their rain of terror. The tricky part will be not dying again and also not being influenced to go back to his old blood drinking ways.
