What do you think?

Shadows of the Past
A wise person once said, "Coincidences do happen, that's why they have a name."
Sometimes these coincidences stop us on our tracks and make us wonder, “Was that really just a coincidence – or did the hand of Destiny strike ever so gently?” We call them ‘eerie’ or ‘uncanny’, or ‘a miracle’ or ‘a stroke of luck’ or ‘fate’.
“Shadows of the Past” takes you to the crossroads where coincidence meets luck, miracle meets destiny, on the thin line between the strange and the eerie. Maybe those incidents are indeed mere coincidences, and there is nothing inexplicable about them. I leave you to judge.

Shadows of the past is a collection of 15 short stories containing different themes such as thriller, suspense, mythology, comedy, etc. Writing a short story is a humongous task because a lot of things are to be put in such a manner that the readers not only understand the characters involved but also the underlying essence of the storyline. This was done both beautifully and accurately by the author. I’ll be leaving a few lines review on each story and of course without any spoilers.
1)Awaiting August.
Swapna’s life goes off the rail when Acharya hints that she has a very few days to live. Devasted and desperate to avoid death at any cost, she and her husband Pavi, live their lives taking precautions and enjoying each other company more than ever. But a lot can change in a few months. What happens when Pavi falls in love with another girl and the predictions turn its course? Love becomes deadly in just a matter of time.
2)Rosa
Rose and Anto were the happy elderly couple. One day Anto takes up interests in cooking but he knows nothing about distinguishing different spices. But eventually he gets better and as his friends start to pour their compliments, Anto becomes delighted. Then Rosa dies and in his dream, she tells him a secret.
3) Ghost under the bed.
This was a short spooky story where a tired mother wants to get some shut-eye but he keeps on complaining about a ghost under his bed. What happens when she realizes her kid wasn’t lying?
4)Belief.
Do you believe in astrology? This story talks about how far are you willing to let astrology rule your life. A man in search of answers realizes that sometimes things happen for a reason and other times, they are set in motion to help them find their way back to happiness.
5)Coming of the monsoons.
A granddaughter returns to her village after the house is left to her by her grandmother. This village, especially the river holds one of the terrifying as well as a memorable event of her life.
6)A deal with god.
Subhas, a raged and jealous man vows to murder the person who stole the girl he loves. Adding to his miseries the village suffers from severe drought making everything more difficult. Will God answer his prayer and grant him his wish?
7) Among us.
The title of this already hints towards what it’s going to about. A strange encounter between the protagonist and an alien who wants his kind to settle on Earth. How was she going to help and keep her sanity intact after hearing the stories about life on other planets?
8) The taste of rain.
This was a bit confusing to understand but in the end, it made sense. I won’t say much about this just that this is a suspense story.
9) Auto ride.
Imagine what you thought was real but the reality is long gone, lost forever. Likewise is the story of the auto ride. A creepy and haunting short story gave me chills.
10)The idol.
When an atheist goes to find the origin of a goddess placed in their village he is thrown in a world of forgotten memories. This story is about accepting other beliefs and knowing that an act of kindness is the purest form of worship.
11) Traffic.
This is a story where the society judges a person without even knowing anything about that person in the first place. A mother carrying a stroller with a happy toddler is judged as she passes through the market. The ending was quite shocking and unexpected.
12)Onions.
A typical story which is known to every Indian household when the onions prices hiked and were still soaring even after govt. countermeasures. A hilarious dilemma of a housewife and an equally funny conversation with her maid.
13) The fly.
When the protagonist kills a fly, an immediate chain of paranoia sets in. hurting the insect was never her first thought but after giving ample of opportunities she gets frustrated. What happens when the fly begins to haunt her?
14) Kalki.
December 21st,2012 a date memorable to all of us, the Mayan prediction of the end of days and all that jazz that surrounded this event. Kalki focuses on a particular man and his meeting with Kalki himself and how the doomsday was averted.
15)Shadows of the past.
The final story of the book is one of the best ones. This is about black magic and how it can destroy if done carelessly. A reckless and young group of friends perform black magic but one of them had some other plan which included double-crossing.
All these stories held immense meaning and justified human emotions and behaviors when provided with a situation that would potentially change their lives.
I loved the cover design, it gives off classic vintage vibes to the whole book.
Kudos to the author who created the fascinatingly imaginative plots while giving them a touch of a realistic approach.

Book Review :
Title – Shadows of the Past
Author – Jeena R. Papaadi
Pages – 116
📙Before you start reading these 15 short stories , I would warn you is don’t expect for a happy ending always, neither a predicted one because just you predict the end , things change that very moment.
📙When I started the first story , it gave me a rough idea that the book might be based on superstition but as I went on , it was something else leaving me intrigued by the end. That kept on happening every time I began with new story .
📙Written on the thin line of coincidence and reality these stories would shake you from within and leave you in questions, why this happened. If you believe it is reality , if not then call them coincidence.
📙A gripping book , full of imagination and suspense, just wait for the right twist at the end of each story.
📙An enthralling read , with unusual stories . A must read for the readers who do or don’t believe in faith , marriage, god . This has something for you all.
📙The writing style is full of thrill and suspense , narration is good , book cover could have been a little more expressive, title is good.
🌟My rating – 4/5

First of all the first let appreciate the Aesthetic and Aristocrat cover . It reminds me of some precious classic collection.
This book is a collection of short stories. Shadows of the past is the last one from the list .
The stories are written in a nice way and proper use of words has made them unique.
From the first story I was totally in love with the author's writing. I love the way she has woven the plots - concrete and unpredictable , what Actually a short story requires .
Some of the stories are amazing. I was shooked by them . The Ahaa-factor is totally there.
And some of them are good but not extra-ordinery .
The book has dealt with lots of incidents not only idealistic and realistic but also beyond these. After reading the story ,Ghost under the bed , I was shivered .
One thing I want to mention here about this book , I personally think this book give s us a hint of our upcoming horrible future due to the global warming . The stories - Belief and A deal with God have given us that message.

“Shadows of the Past” by Jeena R. Papaadi is a collection of 15 stories that is set to thrill the readers and give them chills down their spines from the moment they begin reading the first one.The stories have an element of darkness which is indicative of the fact that life has different aspects and is not merely a bed of roses.
Every story has a uniqueness of its own and has the potential of engrossing the readers in them completely. With a fine language and a smooth and swift plot action, the readers remain fixed and stuck with the stories throughout. At the same time, there are no wooden characters rather strong entities and all this together makes “Shadows of the Past” a complete package for all kinds of readers. Some finely written stories include “A Deal With God”, “Auto Ride”, “The Fly”, “Shadows of the Past” although, others can’t be disregarded either. If you are looking for a book with many genres then you must pick this book. This is a blend of genres like thriller, suspense, mythology, and many more. The stories are based on love, black magic, aliens, ghosts, beliefs, loneliness, etc.
.
There are 15 short stories that have been woven marvelously by the author. The stories go with a flow. The narration is perfect. Also, the writing style of the author is commendable. The storylines keep you glued to the book till the last page.
.
I loved the three stories - Auto Ride, A deal with god, Shadows of the past. And the story *Shadows of the past* is like the cherry on the cake.
.
The book is good but it could have been better. Also, it would have been great if the title of the book was something different.
.
This book was a good read for me. I would like to read more from this author.

I congratulate the author for this book and wish good luck for future projects.

A collection of 15 short stories, Shadows of The Past surprised me!⠀
⠀
Whenever I pick up a new ( as in freshly published ) author, I tend to find a 100 grammatical/spelling mistakes. So kudos to Jeena for writting not only in an impeccable format but also artfully. ⠀
⠀
Each story was based on something strange and sinister. Some made me smile, others made me cry. And yet there was space for a couple stories that chilled me to the bone. The author did a great job of making the words come to life. I was engrossed in the stories and was definitely sad when they came to an end.⠀
⠀
The central theme was coincidence and how they're perceived as miracles, fate, destiny, etc. Sometime they're not really ⠀
⠀
If you like reading short stories and are on the lookout to try a new Indian writer, I'd totally recommend this to you.

Shadows of the Past is a collection of 15 short stories that takes us to crossroads of life meeting luck. The stories are written effectively that keeps the readers hooked throughout. The author has penned both real and imaginary stories that connect to the readers well. Various themes such as suspense, love, horror, comedy, etc are used in these stories.
These 6 stories connected to me so well:
1. Awaiting August- The story of Sapna who is devastated on knowing she will die soon. She with her husband spends more time in that left over period, but her husband falls in love with another girl. The story is all about finding love and bond.
2. Rosa- The story of old couple Rosa and Anto of a sudden Anto shows interesting in cooking and excels in it. Twist is that after death of Rosa she happens to reveal some secret in his dream. What is the secret? Did it affect Anto?
3. Belief- Astrology has become life for around 60% of people today. The story talks about how astrology is invading into our lives and also the plot centers to a man who in search of answers to all his questions is under enlightenment. The story shows that all things happen for good.
4. Onions- A typical story that revolves around hike in prices of onion every now and then. The plot follows humorous conversation of a typical Indian housewife and her maid. This story is totally funny and I loved reading it.
5. Shadows of the past- The final story of the book that is written in a very beautifully with a moral. The plot revolves around a group of boys who perform black magic. The fact of how it can destroy one’s life is all in this story.
The stories are written in effective way with fascinating plot. Every story evokes human emotions, also main force driving element is chosen as base to the story .Language is simple and easy to read. The title is interesting, cover is pleasant. Descriptions are vivid, characters are well developed. Narration is smooth.

The shadow of the past is a collection of 15 short stories about mystery, spirits, astrology, calamities, alien creatures, myths, household worries, revenge, saviour, black magic and obviously coincidence. It was all very well blended with the main theme of the book "Coincidence".
Never expect an apt ending whatsoever, neither good nor bad. Its all upto you to decide how you want it to be ended. This concept gave me a very different feel and made my mind divide into groups arguing how it could be ended. It will definitely holds you till the end. Keeps you hooked up.
Don't skip the first page of the book, the page before the stories start. Failure of which will impact what the book offers. There were some really really good stories like Awaiting August, Kalki, Onions, The idol and Beleif. Others were good stories.
The writing style was so distinguisged, yet so simple. Author has done exceptionally well in jotting down the words. It carried the right amount of emotions, feelings which were needed. Her narrative style was definitely awesome.
It can be the apt book for saying "Don't judge a book by its cover". The cover gives out nothing of what the book holds. Its definitely a must try book. It makes you ask question to yourself whethere its all destiny or a mere coincidence....

A good one time read

Shadows of the past by Jeena. R. Papaadi is a set of 15 short stories.
Each story has a different themes but connected at one point "Coincidence".
We must appreciate the author's level of imagination.
Awaiting August: A loving husband turns out into a selfish man when he knows his wife is going to die. It describes the extent of selfishness.
Rosa: A pure and ensorcelled love of an elderly couple. Love will always exist even when the person doesn't.
Gost Under The Bed: A prank story of a kid with his mom. It is a terrifying one.
Traffic: A story of a single mother and her child. Sometimes all you can do is "just give up". This story affects me a lot.
These are my favourite stories and there are stories beyond reality.
Very few stories are hard to believe and imagine which diminishes the interest.
With a good narration and well selected characters author keeps the readers engaged.
The language is lucid. Overall it is a good one time read.
I'll give 3.8/5 for this book.

It is a collection of fifteen short stories across various genres that will lull you with its languid prose but jolt you into thoughtfulness with an unsettling twist in the end.
Every story is like enjoying a sweet cup of tea with a spoonful of spicy chaat to top it.

A beautiful light and refreshing short story collection. Each story is unique and I'm spellbound by the author's imagination to compile these stories and enhance the concept of "Coincidence".
I enjoyed reading these stories in between my work as a break from the usual routine.

Shadows of the past by Jeena R. Papadi is a collection of 15 short stories.
The author has waven different theme such as love, betrayal, superstition, faith and belief in God , thrill, mystery and comedy. Each story has different aspects and interrelated with the main plot coincidence. Story seems simple but it isn't. The author has given much effort to the end part of every story which I really liked. The book is a short and one time read with well developed character and great presentation.
My personal favourite are Rosa, taste of the rain , ghost in the bed and shadow of the past. The story "onion " made me laugh. The twist in the ending part of each story made me engrossed throughout the book. Overall it's an engaging and worth of reading .

Shadow of the past is the collection of 15 short stories by author Jeena R Papaadi containing different subject matter such as thriller, suspense, comedy, etc holding different sentiments in each story.
Sometimes these coincidences stop us on our tracks and make us wonder, " Was that really just a coincidence or did the hand of destiny strike ever so gently??" We call then 'eerie' or 'uncanny' or miracles' or 'stroke of luck' or 'fate'.
There's a ghost under the bed," he declared. "Yeah, okay, I said, "I am sure you can fight any ghost.
I like this story, a woman trying to encourage his son to sleep in his room. He didn't need to be afraid but her five-year-old son was frightened to sleep alone. She managed to send her son to his room by giving him a solution. Later she heard karate yells from his room.
After a few moments, she senses her son snuggling up behind her into her blanket. She heard clinking sound but she was too sleepy to open her eyes. She heard a whisper and felt a cold nose move behind her.
The voice said " That's your son. He frightened me from under the bed..."

15 intriguing story that will raise questions, does coincidence exits in reality!
This book has 15 intriguing stories and
each story is different from the other.
The book pairs imaginative literary language with flawed characters in obscure situations.
Ornate short story collection that steers the inner lives and outer experiences of characters whose origins are extraneous of what’s ordinary.
Suggestive and thought-provoking, the stories are written in a clear, graceful style that keeps the reader's eyes stick to the pages. Some stories will give goosebumps, some will make you think about the mystic world and some stories will stop your heartbeat. Suspense, thrilling, humor, some are believable and some are suspicious.its a complete mixture of emotions. Each story is gripping and the author had intentionally kept the mystery alive till the end of each story.
And I loved the way the author had connected each story with a past of conjunction keeping the question of qualm in the mind of the reader at the same time.

Here's a collection of stories that take you cities, towns and villages presenting a slice of life of a man, vqoman, boy and a girl. Their emotions, their hopes, their fears - all supporting stories that have a supernatural element to it with a twist at the end. Swapna and Pavi's fight within on a prophecy. Anto and Rose's culinary live story that went beyond death. The ghost under the bed.. The man who finally believed an astrologer. The girl who found the boy who had saved her life .The mysterious girl in red sari and the boys experimenting with voodoo are few of the stories that I loved. Jeena has another winner here after Rat, rabbit, rock. If you live stories with a twist this one is a must!!

Review @ A Bookworm's Musing: http://wp.me/p2J8yh-38w
The stories were engaging, and the narration, simple. The eagerness to know what the twist might be keeps the pages turning. The collection is a small one, with just eleven stories and less than a hundred pages, so it can be finished in one sitting. I enjoyed reading this, and hope more such collections come in the future from the author.

Title: Shadows of the Past
Genre: Fiction
Author: Jeena R. Papaadi
Publication: Become Shakespeare.com
My Rating: 4.5 stars
Shadows of the Past is a collection of impressive, gripping and page turner 15 short stories. Each story is unique in itself and captures different emotions and stages of human life. As the name suggests, like the shadow of your past doesn’t leave you, these beautifully weaved stories won’t leave your mind and heart so soon. The beauty about this book is that the author has given such a vivid image of the characters and situations despite them being short stories. The language is lucid and the book is an easy breezy read.
Awaiting August: A story that makes a once loving husband into such a selfish man as he hears that his wife is soon going to die after she consults an astrologer. His selfishness compels him to act out of the natural order. One of my favourite tales.
Rosa: Love, if wanted will stay forever, even if one person in the relationship takes the heavenly abode. That loved one can appear in any form and not just thoughts and dreams as in this case Rosa appeared each time Anto cooked as she was his inspiration to cook. An unbelievable love story of an elderly couple.
Ghost Under The Bed: A seemingly simple prank of a kid with his sleeping mother can be so nerve turning. This story is sure to give you goose bumps as you encounter the ghost while you read it.
Belief: Mostly ambition comes in the way of a happily married couple. The relationship which was turning topsy-turvy, had to be addressed to save it. Not so much of a fan of astrologers but to save his relationship Nath visits an astrologer and comes back all dismayed as he thinks he was a fool to do so. However, within a few minutes he senses the truth of the words of the astrologer.
Coming of the Monsoons: A young lady goes back to her village to take a look at her ancestral house and reminisces her old memories in the village. She remembers one such incident where she lost her brand new camera. Coincidently, the cab driver is aware of that incident. A beautiful story down the memory lane.
A Deal With God: Sometimes superstitions and beliefs are for good. When Subhash’s village faced a draught, in a moment of utter despair, he becomes vengeful as the girl he loves desserts him and has a new lover now. With this turmoil within him and outside due to the draught, he starts hallucinating and believes he has struck a deal with God.
Among Us: A believe it or not kinda story. In this 21st century when science and technology have progressed so much, one can choose to believe there are aliens and they can come and live with us and be among us. This sci-fi story is gripping and enjoyable and my personal favourite too.
The Taste of Rains: Some relationships have no name. A courier guy sees a lady each time he comes for delivery to that address. They both have fallen for each other and one rainy day, caught up in emotions they get close and kiss. The lights go off for a few minutes and once they are back the light of the guy’s life leaves forever.
Auto Ride: When life gets harsh and unbearable, there comes a time when you want to put a stop. The beauty of such a moment is that life gives you a reality check and tells you, “if I throw lemons at you, make lemonade and don’t give up.”
The Idol: India is abode to many Gods and Goddesses. Seeing a temple in the middle of the road is no big deal. Someone someday must have kept an idol under a tree in the middle of power-packed traffic road and it becomes a temple eventually. The Idol is one such story. In the quest to know who kept the idol in a heavy traffic road when the road is about to go under construction, an atheist goes on to a journey to know more. Will he find the truth?
Traffic: Sometimes, one is so tired of life that they do not think of any other option than death. A woman who is a single parent strolls with her life with her toddler on a busy traffic highway and this image haunts the traffic policeman on duty forever.
Onions: God has His funny way of doing things. While the memsahib is wondering where her two onions flew, who robbed them? The same minute, her neighbour who is travelling hands her five more onions when onion prices are touching the sky. What remains a secret from the memsahib is who stole the onions?
The Fly: Is it okay to kill a mosquito and not a fly? If you kill a fly its eyes may haunt you but mosquito you can safely kill. In which book is it written? Nowhere. This is a funny and weird story of how mind plays games with you.
Kalki: The world is going to end, said the Mayan’s prediction. Part of this drama was also Sanjayan who one night hears someone digging his backyard. There he meets Kalki, the 10th avatar of Lord Vinshnu. This mytho-fantasy story is fun to read.
Shadows of the Past: Two childhood friends meet after ages in their village. Both are guilty of an act they did as children. Both think it was stupid childish mistakes but deep down they were curious to know who did what against the other. An interesting story of black magic tricks which as children we all love to explore but which haunt us our entire life like our shadows.
The book is simply WOW! Although the cover could be more impressive. You can purchase your copy on https://www.amazon.in/Shadows-Past-Je...

I was longing to read short stories from a long time and when I decided to go ahead with reviewing this book, I didn't pay attention to the fact that it is a collection of short stories! What an amazing feeling it was to find short stories when I started reading it and their absolutely delightful narrative made me lose myself in their beauty.
Shadows Of The Past is a charming bouquet of short stories carrying different hues of life but revolving around the same theme - coincidences! We are drawn by the concept of coincidence and contemplate over it at some point in our lives. We try to dig deep and arrive at some concrete answer but it is one topic we should leave our destiny to answer. With the comely collection of 15 short stories woven in a tapestry of coincidence, the author presents before us a glimpse of her impeccable imagination. I found some of the stories very amusing while a few of them took me by surprise with their endings. The simplicity of language coupled with a sound narration made up for a good weekend read this monsoon for me!
The stories are spread across different themes of love, friendship, betrayal, superstitions, black magic, power of strong beliefs, mythology, etc. Each story had a different taste to it. The characters have been carved well and developed wonderfully. I could feel most of them. Also, I can't underappreciate the cover of the book which is elegant in its presentation. The stories intrigued me because they were far from cliche storylines and much near to a unique theme and plot. Thus, this refreshing book is a good choice for a light entertaining reading experience. If you like short stories, do get hold of this one!

Shadows of the Past A wise person once said, "Coincidences do happen, that's why they have a name." Sometimes these coincidences stop us on our tracks and make us wonder, “Was that really just a coincidence – or did the hand of Destiny strike ever so gently?” We call them ‘eerie’ or ‘uncanny’ or ‘a miracle’ or ‘a stroke of luck’ or ‘fate’. Shadows of the Past takes you to the crossroads where coincidence meets luck, miracle meets destiny, on the thin line between the strange and the eerie. There are different reasons why you pick a particular book to read. I selected this one because of the theme that ties different short stories together: coincidences.
The introduction says: ...
In my personal life too, I have had many experiences which have led me to think: was that a coincidence or was some force at work?
The author, Jeena, has weaved together a good number of incidents, and each of the stories has an interesting twist. Though in a couple of stories the narration drags a bit, the author has been able to hold the plot well, and keep me engrossed, awaiting the twist. The language is very simple, the book is small and easy to read.
Jeena says, "Shadows of the Past” takes you to the crossroads where coincidence meets luck, miracle meets destiny, on the thin line between the strange and the eerie. Maybe those incidents are indeed mere coincidences, and there is nothing inexplicable about them. I leave you to judge.
I wouldn't delve into the stories, lest I be a spoilsport!

Reading a short story book is quite different from reading any other book. It will enable you to taste flavours of different genres altogether. And the best part was that i also didn't know that until i started flipping its pages. "The Shadows of past" by Jeena R. Papaadi is a collection of fifteen stories neatly tied up together. It varies from subject matter of betrayal, companionship, love, beliefs, miracles, luck, destiny and mythological plot.
The plotline of each story was written decently. I must say the author has worked a lot in narrating the endings of each story. I really like the way it begins in a sober note and somehow turned out to be an utterly unexpected closure. I appreciate the writing style of author, the way she has managed to link them with the role of "coincidence" and "destiny" was admirable. We all must have wondered once in our life about how these coincidences occurrs. Is it already planned by our destiny or it happens suddenly without giving any prior notice.
And how could anyone miss the beauty of cover. Instead of designing it with different themes, she kept it simple and elegant.
If you like to read short-stories, then this is the one, you should put your hands on.
Happy reading !

Shadows of the Past is a well fused collection of short stories which exclusively talks of co-incidence as their central theme. The blending of the central theme with various elements like marriage, superstitions, paranormal beings, astrology and the past is brilliantly done and each story makes you believe in coincidences a bit more. The stories are unpredictable, contrasting to each other and creative.
"Oh! What a coincidence" we often find us speaking these lines whether knowingly or absentmindedly but whatever it may be we tend to later forget about it. But that is not the case for these stories, the short tales although donot have an open ending , makes you uneasy and has that lingering effect on you.
My personal favorites were the definitely "AWAITING AUGUST" and "SHADOWS OF THE PAST". The tales "GHOST UNDER THE BED" and "THE TASTE OF RAIN" gave me goosebumps. I personally donot like giving away the plots for short stories as I feel they are kinda like spoilers,so you need to pick this one up yourselves.
Let the author R.Paapadi take the steering wheel and I gurantee you this rollercoaster ride will definitely end up with you questioning "DO COINICIDENCES REALLY HAPPEN OR IS IT JUST GOD PLAYING WITH US?"

SHADOWS OF THE PAST BY JEENA R. PAPAADI
°°°
This is a beautiful collection of short stories all unpredictable and left me surprised at last. When I started reading a story, it was like okay but then a sudden twist and wow awesome job done by the author. Let's take some time and just see the cover page of the book, it is so beautiful and looks like a classic book cover. The title of the book is interesting and unique plus it is totally related to the stories.
°°°
Language used is simple and easy to understand. Writing style of the author is outstanding. The stories are well narrated and gripping. With all the twists and turns, it was an amazing read and I was not able to put it aside. It was a short and quick read.
°°°
Also, few of the stories were not that interesting but most of them were. The author has also displayed the role of environment well in the stories. That was a good factor. I can't actually comment on characterization as they were short stories, but still the characters are well developed and described. I really liked the first story of the book.
°°°
Overall, I really enjoyed reading this one.

Name of the book - Shadows of the past
Author's name - R.Papaadi, Jeena
Rating - 3.75✨/5
.
💯Review - This book is a collection of a total of 15 stories. Each of these stories have different themes and are built on unique plots.
💯I like this concept of unison of different short stories in a single book rather than stretching a single story over whole book with unnecessary facts.
💯The concept of representing short stories is quite challenging sometimes, as you have to pay a lot attention thinking that what are the facts that needs to be incorporated and what not, to atleast keep up the essence of the story. I really appreciate the author's effort in doing so.
💯Every character in the respective story is properly established.
💯All these stories are not based on a single genre but rather on multiple genres which is a plus point to count.
💯Honestly speaking, some stories did connect to me well while I lost my grip over some stories.
💯Language is very lucid and the writing style is also very much apt.
💯Cover looks very casual rather than much fancies.
💯I personally like this concept of short story compilation a lot and think you all will like it too.

Title : Shadows of the Past
Author: Jeena R. Papaadi
Rating: 3.8
Blurb:
Shadows of the Past A wise person once said, "Coincidences do happen, that's why they have a name." Sometimes these coincidences stop us on our tracks and make us wonder, “Was that really just a coincidence – or did the hand of Destiny strike ever so gently?” We call them ‘eerie’ or ‘uncanny’, or ‘a miracle’ or ‘a stroke of luck’ or ‘fate’. Shadows of the Past takes you to the crossroads where coincidence meets luck, miracle meets destiny, on the thin line between the strange and the eerie. Perhaps those incidents are mere coincidences, and there is nothing inexplicable about them. Or, perhaps not…
My review: there are 15 chapters all over, this is a collection of short stories, which explore different human emotions. The chapter ghost under the bed is so thrilling. The best part is the chapters cover all the human emotions, ranging from selfishness to love of an elderly couple. The taste of rain was my favourite story of the all, and my favourite lines are "
As for me, I would always have the taste of rainwater on my lips."
