Eli Todd is a tall, handsome captain of a wagon train bound for Oregon. Life has taught him if he allows people into his heart, he ends up losing them.
Amelia Cruthers is a pretty, young woman with a limp. She's a hard worker who starts out the trip to Oregon with her parents, until they try to leave her behind. In shock, she watches them cross a river by ferry without her.
Thankfully, the kind, strong Eli Todd takes her with him. Admiring her spunk and work ethic, he gives her a job cooking for the crew. After a fall from his horse, Amelia tends him and he realizes she is sweetness on earth.
Her parents demand he marry Amelia, since she spent time alone with him, nursing him. Eli figures why not? He won't be home most of the year anyway, and Amelia could have a safe place to live on his ranch. What could possibly go wrong?
Amelia never thought to be married. She'd been told her hip was too hideous for a man to look upon and that she couldn't have children.

Lily isn't well received by the others on the wagon train and realizes that having a relationship with Jed would only hinder him in life. He'd never be accepted in polite society. Once in Oregon, she plans to leave for Washington territory to live alone. Attempts on her life and the life of a young girl make Lily realize that she and Jed share a love worth searching for.

DUST, RIVERS,DEATHS, & SURVIVING FOR MILES..
4 STARS for this Box Set of 4 Books based on 3 brothers and the guy who helped raise the 2 youngest and helped the eldest to turn into a good dependable man. These men ran the wagon train that crossed the Oregon Trail, in each book each brother is brought to his final manhood as in command as the Wagons Master always accompanied by Smitty the one who was there when their parents died. Highlighted in each book is when from oldest to youngest brother rode as the person who was to make the hard decisions for a Wagon train and his unique story of love with the individual woman he fell in love with. Each time the brother in question were taken off guard falling for his love, the unusual gal around. Then add all of the entertaining action of a Oregon Wagon Train detailed in each book a different aspects of traveling by wagon train, both the hardships and dangers. This is a box set that will keep you turning the pages and not wanting to break from reading. Going on the last story about Smitty is a bit different than the younger men, but at 32 he was already an ole timer on the Oregon Trail; his wonderful woman was a widow whose husband died early on the trip and they were adopting orphans and she adopts other orphaned children as the trip continued. Then she moved to the combined ranch of the boys & Smitty's while he went on his last Wagon Train Trip; then his special circumstances have to be dealt with which includes for the reader a pretty detailed happening of tuberculosis cases in that time and how people treated those inflicted & those caring for them. It is a sobering reminder that any new disease the public doesn't really understand puts those exposed outside any normal society, and can always be a new disease to hit without notice and we could be like them. Also, we get an example of how some people only wanted widowed women with children as new wives to use them and the children as slaves almost. Finally we get a look at scarlet fever at the times, the nightmare the gossip of "the good christian women" in all the books that causes harm each time and pretty much life was hard so hang on to the good life. One last thing near the ends after a very emotional Christmas that you will smile, be sad but be happy all at the same time.

Jesus died for all people and all the world, not simply white people or the white world. While you may be seeking to highlight yesterday's ignorance, you are fomenting today's in a subliminal way. That's why covid-19 and racism are rampant and underestimated and misunderstood. If our foundational philosophy is wrong our observations and analysis are skewed. The first obligation of every believer is to search his heart and these books show the superficiality of our thought processes that allow us to be so undermined. If a genuine analysis of the characters thoughts about themselves and God is undertaken we would see the fundamental error of religion: going to church or to service cannot redeem you. Only the blood of Jesus can. And with redemption comes enlightenment and the need to kill the flesh (the world self). Anytime you write and highlight a problem unless you enunciated the solution. Too many Christian fiction is such and it poisons the reader's psyche. I don't dislike the book or the characters. I read book 2 started book 3. If white people don't analyse their rcollective psychology as the churches in Revelations 2&3were asked to do. If they continue to believe as they do a meat packing plant would always be more valuable than one soul.

Each book has it's own hero and heroine but since the hero's are brothers the storylines intermingled. Great storyline and characters. Book is set along the Oregon trail and tells of some of the trials and tribulations that people faced. 3 sexy heroes and 3 beautiful heroine will they find their happily ever after read and find out. I highly recommend this book to everyone who reads western genre.

Great series to start in this genre. Enjoyed the stories.
But Smitty's age and timeline doesn't add up. If Mike started being a wagon master at 17 and did it for 10 years, met Susan and they have a six year old...he would be older than Smitty yet Smitty raised his best friend's kids? It was stated Smitty is 32.

Best series ever !
Plan on non stop reading from book one ! It’s like one big family, suspense, outdoor living, romance with each brother and or friend ! Plus death . You just can’t stop reading this series ! The author is great and talented ! I recommend this series very much ! I just finished ! I feel so entertained! Sad to see it’s over

Three cowboys and their foster father find love on the Oregon Trail.
Enjoyed being with this author again. Mike, Susan,Eli,Amy,Jed,Lily, Smith and Lynn stories all had heartache each had things to work through. But love prevailed for all of them in the end. The sex was somewhat explicit and some of the things that happened to Lynn. But will read more by this author.

Could not put down
This story was amazing. I love how the story just picks up from the next. Love that the couple were a little older. Any books with orphans is a great read

Great read
Interesting, kept your attention. Being a Christian I appreciated the lack of bad /foul language. The love between characters was written well without heavy sex scenes.

He raised them as his own sons
I enjoyed the way each book flowed into the next and made all the twist and turns in the stories mean something. I especially liked the way they all worked together to accomplish something.

This is such a fun series. I’ve read all books when they got released last year. When you start the first book in this series you have to read the next. I really recommend it.
