Oh my goodness, this book! It made me sad cry, then it made me laugh so hard I cried.

I don't want to think about it too much, but the first couple chapters in this book wrecked me. The author gave us such a raw look into Jovi's grief after her best friend is killed in a plane crash. The only reason I didn't slam my kindle shut was that I saw other reviews saying they laughed more than they cried. So, I figured since my mascara was already ruined I had nothing to lose.

I'm glad I stuck with it. I did laugh a lot, just like the other reviewers told me I would!

This story introduces us to Jovi and River. They meet at a funeral, of all places. The hopeless romantic part of me who sees the potential for love in even the worst circumstances appreciated this. Why can't something as beautiful as love come from something as terrible as death?

F*cking Shattered was a beautiful but quick read. It had a lot of steamy scenes and some conflicting sexy/ awkward situations, nude beaches at retirement homes, for example. Despite the emotional start it ended up being a fun read.

I won't be recommending this to my mother. Not because she wouldn't enjoy it, but because she'd want to discuss it. This is a quick read, I got through it in an evening. And I'd recommend it for anyone looking to escape their lives for a couple hours. But I wouldn't read it in public as the tears would be awkward.

I didn't expect to like this book so much but it ended up to be one of those books when I'd love to switch place with the heroine and experience her story by myself (except losing someone who's close to me). I mean, the heroine went for a road trip with a hot guy who helped her to fulfil various challenges and they fell in love. Who wouldn't want that?
It was funny, hot and easy to read.
I enjoyed the book a lot.

This blurb sucked me in….

I've always been the shy, quiet one.
My best friend, the fun loving, outgoing one.
When she's gone, taken away entirely way too soon,
I have to learn how to live.

And not just for me, but for her too.

I have to live for the both of us.

That means doing things I'd never do, stepping out of the shadows
to join the rest of the world- taking chances, falling in love,
and getting into a little trouble along the way.

Losing my best friend broke me.

And when a person breaks,
They f*cking shatter.

And I am so glad that it did!!

This book was so good and surprisingly funny! Don’t get me wrong there were sad moments that anyone who has lost someone very special can relate to. You can relate to Jovi’s pain and brokenness, you can feel it, you can understand it, you can accept it and you may just break a little with her.

“pain is something I’ve come accustomed to. It’s a part of me now. And it’s changing me.”

But, fate or some other divine power steps in and sends her River. He is exactly what she needed but, as it turns out he needed her just as much!

“I didn’t want to save you. I just fucking wanted you. My soul wanted you. It’s like you’re my other half that I didn’t realize I was missing until I saw you.”

This book was a bit of a surprise to me. It was about so much more than just tragedy and loss. It was also about pushing your boundaries, finding yourself, living your best life, love and happiness. I won't say too much because you need to experience it for yourself but I love how their story unfolded.

This was my 1st book by this author but it will not be my last!

My friend was fanning over this author, so I decided I'll give it a go.

I LOVED IT! I really did. The storyline is fresh and unique. It's basicaly a story about love, loss, and finding your true self and happy place despite tragedy.

AND it is played with a heroine you can not not fall in love with and a sexy, mysterious, smart and funny hero.

Jovi and Katie have been best friends for a very long time. Jovi has always been the shy one and is fine with living in the shadows. Katie is the one that everybody notices and she's the light of the party everywhere she goes. This summer is the first Jovi and Katie will spend apart from each other. Katie will be gone for three months, which leaves Jovi to work her boring job for a minimum wage. The first morning alone Jovi sees on the news that Katie’s plane has crashed, leaving no survivors. Instead of three months without Katie, Jovi now has to learn to live without her completely. This leaves her shattered beyond repair. Before she left Katie made a bucket list for Jovi to complete during the summer. Will Jovi be able to step out of the shadows and shine just like Katie wanted her to?

Jovi can’t imagine a life without Katie and she has a hard time accepting what happened. Jovi and Katie come from different backgrounds, but this was never an issue for them. Now that Jovi has to live for both of them she decides to take the holiday Katie was supposed to go on. On the day of Katie’s funeral Jovi meets River at Katie’s house. He awakens feelings inside her that she never felt before. Together they go on a road trip to Miami and they have so much fun together. River helps Jovi to cross items off of her bucket list and Jovi starts to embrace her new personality. Katie and Jovi were close, but Katie never mentioned River. What’s his connection to Katie?

Jovi is such a sweet person. I admired her for trying to pick up the pieces after her best friend dies. She’s so much stronger than she thinks and it’s this strength that makes her come out of her shell. Jovi has a great sense of humor and I laughed out loud several times when she got into some tricky situations. Jovi has a big heart and I was hoping for her to find what she needed to enjoy life again.

F*cking Shattered is an emotional story about overcoming one of the most painful losses of your life. I can’t even imagine how devastated I would be if it would happen to me, but even though this is such a difficult topic K.B. Andrews managed to not have the bad outshine the good. Jovi learns so many new things, things that make her stronger and increase her self esteem. F*cking Shattered made me cry, but also showed me the beautiful things in life. Love has the power to heal and Jovi and River need each other to become whole again. F*cking Shattered is a beautiful moving story with interesting main characters. I really loved this emotional rollercoaster.

Breathless. This book completely left me breathless. The passion in the words are undeniable. The loss you feel is palpable. It's like a living breathing thing. I went from crying tears from loss to crying tears of laughter in the matter of sentences. To be able to take such a heavy story, yet make it light and humorous takes talent, talent that K.B. Andrews has in spades.

Jovi is an introvert. She works and stays at home, yet she's completely satisfied with that life, until the unthinkable happens. This propels her to fulfill a bucket list that her best friend wrote for her. What follows is an emotional, beautiful, and hilarious as hell journey that will leave you craving so much more!! 5 Stars is not enough for this book.

After reading the blurb I expected the story to be much deeper.

From the middle to the end ot was messy and overall too rushed.

2 things bothered me a lot:
- he dared her to kiss a stranger, who was actually on a date with a woman...
- they laughed at old people's bodies. Yeah, I guess MCs planned to remain young forever...

TBH I thought the story turned out to be her dream (some things were too odd - striptise, him making her jealous, viagra accident etc.), but it really happened.

Good idea, execution - not my coppa.

Well based on this title I was ready to be F*cking Shattered….however I was not… I found myself laughing way more than being sad and I don’t think I shed on tear through the whole book….and there were a few sad heartbreaking parts…they just didn’t shatter me like I had wanted.

Other than the lack of shattered emotions, I really enjoyed this book. It was very well written, with very strong, relatable characters. The humor in this book oh man I cannot stress enough how much I loved the humor and the crazy situations that occur in this book.

I could go on and on but I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. So if you have been reluctant to pick this up because you don’t want to deal with all those messy emotions that the Title and the blurb suggest….I’d say go for it anyways. You may be a bit sad from time to time yes but Oh how you will laugh and enjoy the ride.

This is by far the best book I have read all year. Very well-written and entertaining. I laughed, cried, and hurt for both of these characters. There was such raw emotion throughout the story. These two were destined for each other and brought together in tragedy. They will find themselves along the way and finish the journey they were sent on and have new beginnings.
You don't want to miss out on this amazing story. It should go on the top of everyone's TBR list.

This is my first book that I have only listen to by this author and was surprised on how emotional I got through this listen. Little did I know that how this story started off was one that had me teary eyed and at a lost for words. I had no idea the journey I would have gotten from this book and it gives you a whole new perspective of living life. It was filled with a wide range of emotions (the good, the bad, and the ugly) and taking the risks of being something more.

The narrater, Sarah Puckett told Jovi's story that had your feelings come out in each of the adventures that was on her given bucket list. The new experiences and encounters was a good mixed to getting to be more personally, mentally, and physically.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. For a newbie she did not disappoint and I have plans to go back for more by K.B. Andrews.

K.B. Andrews made so great book about so complex matter!
This book seems light and funny but treats serious matter death of your best friend and how young girl can deal with it. Jovi does a lot of "first" things in her life. She is so complex behind her walls and how she was destroying it - it will be hard but it was so beautifully written. River was a man that I fell in love with he was so so GREAT character. I think I have a crush!
I loved this character and their way during the book! This book was so complex and deep!

F*ucking Shattered has so many layers without being overly complex, and a storyline that was fresh and unique. Jovi had always been reserved, not at all social, and basically had no big goals or dreams in life. One constant had been her best friend Katie, who always tried to get Jovi to live a little. After Katie’s death, Jovi decides to finish the bucket list for Katie, regardless of the numerous things that made her insanely nervous. This decision leads to a sexy, funny, emotional, and exhilarating awakening of a young woman. Andrews’ character development is always outstanding, but the slow, descriptive, and significant development of Jovi pulled me in, took hold, and didn’t let go until the last line of the novel.

Of course, I couldn’t stop myself from falling in love with River. He is sexy, mysterious, smart, funny – the perfect package. As more of River is revealed throughout the novel, the reader gets a glimpse at a young man that has struggled for most of his life over several different issues. This made me love him even more, but I hated that secrets were kept. The blossoming friendship and relationship between Jovi and River is like a well-choreographed dance with the perfect balance of starts and stops, passion and tears, and of course, romance.

Although a lot of this novel revolves around a road trip, it is truly so much more than that. Andrews has created a captivating story that revolves around friendship, love, and most importantly, living one’s life to the fullest. F*ucking Shattered realistically illustrates the many stages of grieving and what a sudden loss can do to a person. But it also serves as a reminder that despite how difficult a loss can be, it’s important to carry on with our lives and cherish the precious memories that remain.

I always have difficulty labeling K.B.’s novels regarding genre, but I try to do it anyway to improve recommendations for readers. I would say that F*cking Shattered is contemporary romance/new adult romance and the main themes are definitely love, loss, and finding your true self and happy place despite tragedy.

Regardless of your preferred genre, this is a definite must-read. Between the fantastic characters and the phenomenal writing style of K.B. Andrews, this is a novel that will not disappoint. Once again she has propelled me into the story, made me feel that I was a part of it, and left me wanting more after the story was finished.

I was absolutely hooked on this story before I was even at chapter 3.

This story is intense, powerful and one emotional ride. Jovi and River's story is one that will stick with me. I loved the concept of the story, with Jovi who needs to find herself in the midst of being lost, for herself and for her best friend. Then there is River, the guy who is going to help her do that and be there every step of the way.

Jovi is reserved, shy and not very outgoing and Katie wants her to live and experience everything she can and really come into herself. It was a beautiful story and I enjoyed watching Jovi do and experience everything Katie wanted for her.

River, he is such a deep character and I loved the relationship that builds between him and Jovi as they go on their journey together. Beautifully broken man with a pure and shattered soul that mirrors Jovi's. I fell hard and fast and I didnt even know what happened. Wow.

"From the first time my eyes landed on yours, filled with pain and sadness, I wanted you. I wanted to be the one to make all that disappear. I know what broken looks like, and it's not you."

There are sad moments that had me reaching for the tissues to wipe my tears away, and some downright hilarious moments that left me gasping for breath from laughing so damn hard. This story was so beautiful and this will be taking its place on the re-read shelf.

"I didn't want to save you. I just fucking wanted yoy. My soul wanted you. It's like you're my other half that I didn't realize I was missing until I saw you."

K.B. Andrews does it again with another read that left me in tears with my nose stuffed up and tissues scattered around me as I read this book. This book had me from the first pages right to the end, a story of a young woman, Jovi, who loses her best friend tragically right after she makes a bucket list for her. Jovi is shy and introverted, doesn’t go out and keeps to herself so her BFF makes a list she has to complete over the summer while they are apart. After she loses her BFF, Jovi decides to complete the list and live for her, doing things she never did, feeling free and alive for once and she takes River, a man she meets at the funeral and keeps bumping into after, along for the ride across the country while completing the list.
What a read that had me crying and sniffling throughout the book but also smiling and laughing so hard at times my side hurt. I loved reading how Jovi blossoms and comes out of her shell and how River helps her through it all. Not only that but the steamy scenes...oh my my my. The author wrote a story that was flawless, that flowed perfectly and had all kinds of emotions jumping off the pages that I couldn’t help but feel each one and feel for both characters. Not only that but the ending when Jovi finds out the truth....loved it and what happened was exactly what I hoped for as it ended perfectly. Time to go out and buy more tissues and add these two to my top 10 of favorite couples.

Jovi and Katie are the best of friends who are polar opposites. Jovi is the quiet one and Katie is the outgoing one. They don't make a move without one another. In a sad twist of events, Katie dies and leaves Jovi alone to face the world. But she leaves Jovi a bucket list not knowing she won't be around to watch Jovi complete it. Jovi, grief-stricken, decides to finish everything on the bucket list--including the things that put her outside her comfort zone and make her squeamish.

River is lost. After just finding his family a few years prior, he suffers a tragic loss and is left to cope with the aftermath.

Fate and destiny bring River and Jovi together in this tale of friendship, tears, letting go, and what it means to find yourself when all you have left are the shattered pieces.

F*cking Shattered is a romantic tale filled with funny moments, heartbreaking moments, and moments that make the reader smile. River and Jovi are definitely the kind of couple that keep you turning the pages to find out how their story ends. You won't be disappointed! Definitely a book that must be read!

Wow, where to start! I loved this book. For a book with such a heavy topic, grief from losing a loved one, It was very light and humorous along side the heavy and emotional. K.B. Andrews was able to write such deep emotion that you were able to feel right along side, Jovi, and also make you laugh out loud along with River. The characters were well developed and relatable. Everyone has dealt with some form of grief, so this book allows you to feel the same emotion and connection to the main characters. It wasn't your typical romance, in the sense that, it wasn't a normal story line. There were some twists that I never saw coming, and parts where I was literally laughing hysterically. F*ucking Shattered is now a book, I will be re-reading whenever I need a emotionally charged, humorous light read.

So I will most likely be in the minority with my review of F*cking Shattered. I was really drawn in by the blurb the first time that I read it and figured this one would be a book I couldn’t help but love. Unfortunately, I just wasn’t as invested in the story as I had hoped to be. I don’t know if it was my mood or if I just didn’t click with the characters but I found this one to just be an okay read, nothing truly special and nothing that would stand out from other books. Now with that said the book wasn’t bad, it overall was on okay read but it just didn’t blow me away by any means. So as always give it a shot for yourself, it very well could be an it’s me not the book situation, and what didn’t work for me may very well work for you.

Life after loss

Losing her best and only friend has a devastating effect on Jovie's life. Armed with a bucket list created by her best friend, Jovie embarks on a journey of self discovery.

She had no idea she would have company on the road trip of grief. Together thwy check off items on her list while falling hard and fast.

I found F*cking Shattered was a sweet and sometimes very entertaining read/listen. Some of the items on the bucket list seem like an off the wall shot but rest assured they conquer them. Raise your flask to teuth or dare and try not to eat too many baked goods.

Sweet, fun, and romantic, F*cking Shattered will make you smile.

Jovi and Katie are best friends. Katie is trying to convince Jovi to join her for a summer vacation to Miami. However, Jovi is responsible and stays in California so she doesn't lose her job. Katie is determined to bring Jovi out of her shell and leaves her a bucket list. Jovi and River meet at Katie's funeral, where Jovi is able to cross a item off the list. When she decides to take Katie's trip, River joins her. They become closer over the summer until River tells Jovi his secret on their last night there. Jovi feels betrayed and they get into a fight. Will they be able to work things out or will this be the end???? I voluntarily received an advanced copy of this book for a honest review

Kate was the outgoing gregarious one and Jovi was the quiet introverted one but they balanced each other and were the best of friends. When Kate passes away Jovi finds her bucket list and decides to honor her by doing everything on the list and she will be there in spirit if not in body.

River has a tragic loss of his own and when fate threw them together they embarked on this adventure together. Their time is filled with laughs, sorrow, healing and a few surprises along the way but how will it end?

Kate and River are perfect together and this book illustrates how important it is to live each day to the fullest and to enjoy your time with those you love as you never know what life has in store for you. This author has once again created a book that you don’t want to miss and stays with you long after the last page

This book really pulled some emotional strings. Our heroine is nervous to step out of her comfort zone but has a best friend that’s good at always helping her try new things. Until her best friend tragically dies. Now, she must tackle her friends summer list and she picks up a cute man along the way to help her.
