Sunshine and the Stalker

Dating is difficult for someone like me.
I’m obsessive, arrogant, and rude.
This means I must be creative when bedding a woman.
I learn what I can about her through whatever means necessary.
Some call it stalking. I call it clever research.
It gets me what I want and when I want it.
When I get bored, I move on.
My system works like a charm…
Until a little ray of SUNSHINE shows up.

***

Dating is nonexistent for me.
I’m quirky, silly, and inexperienced.
This means my romantic life is certainly lacking.
I don’t date because no one’s interested.
Some say I’m an independent woman who doesn’t need a man.
But I know I’m on the fast track to becoming a lonely cat lady.
How many cats are too many cats anyway?
My boring world stays that way…
Until my future stepmother’s STALKER shows up.

*****FOUR STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

SUNSHINE AND THE STALKER is another one of K. Webster’s SCORCHING HOT erotica novellas about a May/December romance. I don’t read many naughty spank bank stories but I love this author and her works normally tend to be very entertaining. I think out of all the books I’ve read there were only two I completely disliked. One thing I will say about this author is that she is BRAVE in that she continuously pushes boundaries.

Don’t go into this one expecting a unique plot or gripping storyline. It’s as I’ve said before to be read for pure guilty pleasure purposes only. This is one hell of a steamy read!! The Hero, James Darden is a hotel mogul with a creepy hobby. He’s never been into relationships. All he’s looking for are some good times until he gets bored and moves on to the next object of his obsession. He stalks women and gets to know their habits and personality traits before he makes his move on them. It’s during one of his creepy stalking missions that he gets busted by a vivacious teenaged girl named Cerys. Something about Cerys' unique look and bold personality calls to James on a deeper level.

It takes only that brief meeting with Cerys for James to turn all of his stalkerish attention on the spunky and naïve teenager. In no time at all, he takes her virginity and unleashes all of his naughty sexual prowess on her.

If you’re looking for a quick read to help with your reading challenge and you like a dirty romance with a ridiculous plot and HEA, then this one is not to be missed. It’s a particularly good book to pick up if you just finished one that was emotionally draining.

Here are my overall ratings

Hero: 4
Heroine: 3
Plot: 3.5
Angst: 0
Steam: 5
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 5

For reasons that I cannot fathom, I adore romance stories with obsessive stalkers.

Maybe my fascination started a few years ago when Christian Grey surprised Anastasia at the hardware store where she was working and he asked about the varieties in dusk tape and rope.
I am sure that this should have creeped me out.
Instead I laughed.
And not in a bad way.

Anyway, I had many expectations from a book with a title “Sunshine and the Stalker” and with this bookcover.
But I was disappointed...
Not that the story was bad. It is just that I expected more than the usual smut.
And the bookcover was irrelevant. The guy in the photo should have been much older. And the girl much younger.
And this is the end of my review I think.

*sighs*

Firstly, lemme grab my binoculars to see where the well needed stalking is. It lasted two pages, yes. 👍

I'm not even surprised. This one had potential. The beginning where Cerys was an absolute sass and how she made James's jaw drop at her attitude. Then it all just went down the drain and she became a mess.

I just don't get it, both of them had a similar past, I'd say she had it worse since she was seen like a weirdo her whole life, was financially more down than him and a shitty step-mother. But then SHE turned out to be a poor girl who has a big heart and HE turned out to be cold and ruthless? Make it make sense please.

It's literally a story about a sunshine and the stalker (i.e. quirky artistic girl and your obsessive grumpy bazillionaire).

I don't care what people thought of this sunshine-grumps trope, I love it! It's classic, safe but with a twist, he's a stalker.

He met the heroine while he was stalking her stepmom-to-be. Now, only in romance book, this situation would be applicable because man, that's a shady thing to do for a first impression.

And things progressed mighty fast.

It's perfect for a short lazy evening read. And not dark at all.

This book starts off with a great premise - Cerys confronts her stepmother-to-be’s stalker. After that, it’s all fairly straight forward. He falls in love with Cerys instead, they get together immediately (like, within hours), and that’s that. I’m hesitant to even call it a dark romance, but the hero is a stalker and a narcissist, so the label fits. I wasn’t crazy about James as a romance hero. He’s not quite an anti-hero, but he’s not a good person, so where does that leave him? Cerys, on the other hand, is quite fascinating, and I was disappointed in how short the book is, because I would have liked to explore her quirks a little more. The dialogue was a little stilted at times, but this book does feature one of my favourite tropes (grumpy/sunshine). It’s quite short, so if you like that trope, it’s worth giving it a shot yourself!

This one wasn’t really really dark.. but a okay stalker romance lol.

James has been doing this for a year now he’ll pick some random girl stalk her get the goodies and bounce. He has his eyes on someone but then he’s caught stalking by Cerys who calls him out on stalking and a warning of the woman he’s stalking who happens to be her fathers girlfriend. From that moment James his over his plan and stalking Cerys she’s something he has never had before he’s catching different types of feeling and he wants her.

And what he wants he gets. There relationship was pretty fast pace couple times a little push away from James because he doesn’t know how he can feel like that.

No om/ow drama, no cheating, sexy times, Virgin gal and kinda was a manwhore (he said he dated lots and got tired of them)

4 Easy - fast - smutty- smut stars

If you want an easy fast smutty no fuss, no drama novella, then this one is for you. It has a
"complex" hero and a sunshine, colorful wearing Heroine.

You got the virgin
the successful rich business man
lots of steamy, no condom-wearing, impregnating stuff

What's not to love?

It killed a good 40 mins.

Now this is OTT crazy insta-love goodness all wrapped up in a nice little package!

Not that I thought it would be anything less considering the title and the authors, but one can never know until they dive in, and Sunshine and the Stalker went there in all the best ways and has me wanting more.

Cerys (Sunshine) & James (Stalker) were all kinds of crazy fun. Cerys is a bit of a loner. She’s awkward and yet I found her refreshing in how she dealt with things and quite insightful. James is all kinds of creepy, stalker alpha AF male and I found him absolutely fascinating and kinda adored him. There was an honesty to his desires and actions that, regardless of how he went about things, and he just worked for me.

Their insta-love is pretty much insta and things happen extremely fast, but I loved it. It was a little dark, dirty, smexy and there was just enough of a pull between Cerys and James that had me rolling with it all and happy with where they were at in the end.

This was a fun, quick read. The writing was seamlessly done and you could tell that these two authors had a lot of fun collaborating on this one and I’m hoping we’ll see more from this writing duo in the future, especially because there is another situation that is mentioned that I really want to know more about.

So, if you are a fan of insta-love and like it a little OTT cray cray and dirty, then this is a definite must read for you!

Sunshine of your love
*read on KU. No need of sugar daddies called promo teams*

K. Webster and Dani René have incredible chemistry as authors on this book. ALSO, their characters also have immense chemistry. I read this, thinking it’d be a casual read. However, it was actually very entertaining. I was captivated by both leads, and I honestly wanted more of them. I would’ve stanned an entire book by this duo about these two! I’m a fan of both authors, and I loved how they came together. I related to the leading lady and her interests LOL. I found the leading man to be dark and brooding but also hilarious. His commentary had me laughing so hard. I guess I have dark humor! The chatter between these two was highly entertaining and snappy. I recommend this to lovers of short teases, sweet girls and fictional stalker men you can’t resist.

ORIGINAL COMMENT
Can we extend this???? I loved the chemistry between these two. So many snapbacks LOL.

Dani Rene & K. Webster collaborating together equals a delectable, over the top crazy insta-love story.

Sunshine and the Stalker maybe a short story but it packs a fast paced punch. We meet our Stalker James first, he is who he is and gives no fucks about it. He gets what he wants, when he wants and walks away without a second glance.

That is until her the crazy hipster girl in the bright yellow coat. Who spots him while he's checking out a person of interest. He never saw her coming and she completely turns his world on it's axis.

Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com

Cery's was a sweet, vibrant but very lonely girl. She knew people thought of her as quirky but she didn't care. All she wanted was for someone to see her and love her for her. From the moment she see's him, she knows there darkness around him and should probably stay away. But there is also something just as compelling drawing her to him.

Their connection is palpable, Cery's brought light into James's dark world. And he in return gave her everything she craved and more. I could have read so much more of these two characters. Who were complete opposites but completely perfect for each other.

Another great read Ladies!!

I usually love novellas, cause I like how the story goes by quickly, but this one just wasn't for me.
I would've loved to know more about the characters's pasts, especially James, why he became so maniacal and cold and unable to feel.
Plus, I couldn't believe a single thing in this story, it was just too absurd to be real. Cerys is an 18-year old virgin, so it's kinda weird she lets a man take away her virginity after literally 2 days of knowing him.
It was too much for me, and I'm not a saint or too pure or whatever, it was just unbelievable for me.
The story had a great potential, the blurb hooked me from the very beginning, but unfortunately the authors couldn't evolve it as I would've liked.

I'm sorry to give it only 2 stars cause I love K. Webster's writing and I enjoyed her previous books and novellas, but I kinda hated this one.

Meh. I expect more out of K Webster... It’s instalove —- with no tension, conflict, angst, or relationship development. It was lacking her signature dirty-talk. I know it’s co-written, but I expect to see some traits of one of my favorite author, if her name is on it. This book would have been better in long form. Things were left hanging that I thought really needed to be fleshed out. I’m not really a fan of an H who is actually certifiably nuts. I want him crazy only for his h.... I guess it’s fine for a short story, but not really my thing. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I absolutely love these two authors. Any book by them I inhale so when the two of them come together you can be sure I’ll jump right in.

This is a fabulous quick read. I sat and inhaled it pretty quickly. There was no way I wasn’t gonna read it in one sitting. I absolutely loved both of the characters. The sexy scenes are off the charts hot.

Really hope these two write more together as this was so so good.

My name rolls off her sweet tongue like a chanted prayer. As though she’s a forest nymph praying for the gods to shower their blessings upon her.
I’ll be her god.

I'm having a break with Webster and similars...
justtttttt...

ok blurb was saying stalking is not actually a psycho stalking at some point so I didnt expect him to be a psycho. so why u writing his pov like he is a psycho? watdafuck is dis, enigmatic over sex-sellers?
hell no.

I cant count how many times I read Webster and I wanna read Rene, after dis I'm not dat sure.
dont do dis, dont try to show him as a bad but made him an actually sweet weirdo. bad, jerk, villain heros can be turn into a vanilla but this is a different thing and not a plot or character twist. I know (and read to know) that much.

She has caged me.
It is me who bares his throat and she who stakes claim over me.

I loveeed this.

My palm roves down along her jaw to her throat. With a swipe of my thumb over the fat vein in her neck, I revel in the way it pulses wildly.

and this one.

That's when he turns rabid. He grips my throat, lifting me against the cabinet, pressing his groin against my stomach.

and this.

but these are mine to like, for my kinky. keep reading how a stalker he is but actually not is for everyone to judge.

have respect for readers.

What is it about K Webster that keeps me coming back? There's something about the way that she writes that totally captivates you from the very beginning of her book and then makes you almost desperate to keep reading to find out what she has to say. And when it comes to her collaborations, well, there she takes on this whole persona that she's even more fascinating. So far, i've seen her usually take on the male perspective in her collaborations and have always loved how realistic they seem. As for Dani René, this is probably my first collaboration of hers that i've had a chance to read, and i have to say that she was more than able to hold her own and keep up with K Webster.

This story was short - there's no denying that fact. It may have taken me a bit longer than usual to read, and that's only because i started this book in the middle of the night and had fallen asleep midway through it. Even considering how short this book was, it didn't feel like it. It was very well written, the scenes didn't feel rushed, and i did laugh more than once. Cerys may be a virgin, but this girl doesn't take any flack from anyone, not even powerful stalker men who were 5400$ suits. As for James himself, well he was interesting to say the least. I loved seeing his regular habits go up in smoke when he dealt with Cerys and watching the chemistry between these two was hot.

I'm hoping this isn't the last time that these two will be writing together as they are quite entertaining and their books, undeniably sexy!

In between reading full length books, I love enjoying quick reads like this.
That’s what Sunshine and the Stalker is. Now, just because it’s a short story, doesn’t make it any less good.
This book was perfect!
You’ll want James to notice and put all his attention on you. You’ll want Cerys to shine light in your life and paint you in beautiful ways.
James like to stalk his women before meeting them. Get as much information from them to guarantee “success in the sheets.” He’s had his eye on Cerys’s step-mom for a while but upon attempting his “meet and greet” with her, he gets intercepted by Cerys who calls him out on his tendency and every names him Stalker Darden, lol.
This is an insta-lust-love kind of story. Goes in with a bang and out with a bang. I loved it all.
You have two people here missing pivotal things in their lives and, by fate, brings them together to mend each other back together.
I love anything that K Webster writes... EVERYTHING. And, now reading a few of Dani René’s book, I can say the same.
Putting both of them together????
WHY COULDN’T I HAVE A LONGER BOOK?! Lol
Seriously, though. Loved it, loved it, LOVED IT!

This is one of my favorites. It's so sweet but also weirdly messed up! I just wish it was longer, and that James kept being a tad more messed up than he was by the end.

This story is about James and Cerys. James is a rich, handsome, silver fox businessman. He looks like perfect dating material on paper... but he has some major personality problems. He gets bored of his romantic conquests as soon as they have sex. However, he's learned a way around it. He's decided to make it into a game of stalking his next target, obsessing over them and learning everything that makes them tick, and then "becoming" that perfect prince charming for them, seducing them. After the women fall in love with him, he uses them up and moves on, fixating on his next target to prey on. His thought process was fascinating, and I loved seeing his weird, crazy animalistic and obsessive thoughts. James' next target for his game is our heroine's nasty (but typical blonde sexy bombshell) future stepmother. He's been fantasizing about her and has all these plans about how he's going to seduce her. And while he's acting like a total creep, he is horrified to find out that a little boy is laughing at him and watching him with amusement. When he decides to eliminate this person who has seen his creepy behavior, he's struck by lightning to see an adorable, young, quirky girl. This is Cerys, our heroine. Cerys warns James in a good natured way that the woman he's stalking "is kind of a psycho" despite how she looks, and calls him a stalker creep, going off on her merry way. James is immediately smitten, despite Cerys being the complete opposite of his usual "type" of woman. He forgets about his plans for the stepmother and follows Cerys, having no idea what it is he's feeling. And so begins the creepy stalker's romance with his sunshine.

I LOVED the way this couple met. The premise was AMAZING. The idea that you have this super hot, but incredibly broken man who likes making romance into a predator / prey game, then having him target the heroine's evil stepmom was great. And then having the heroine be this weird, adorable girl who is just on the sidelines laughing at this "hero" and giving him advice, while unknowingly making him fall head over heels over her. It was *chef's kiss*. I love that only Cerys saw him for exactly what he was, but had very little fear of him, despite James constantly trying to make her scared of him and trying to intimidate her (in his own sexy way). The fact that James was SO CONFUSED by her, but so attracted to her and was so angry with himself for it was hilarious. I do really wish that the author would've delayed their "courtship" more though. I think it would've been very entertaining to see James be in denial of his feelings and still try to seduce Cerys' evil stepmom, only to be completely obsessed with Cerys and have more moments of Cerys watching him fail at his plans and laughing. The premise was JUST SO GOOD and I wanted to see more moments like that. Oh well, you can't have everything!

The sex scenes were ridiculously hot, and they made a really cute couple together. I wasn't really fond of James' push / pull, although thankfully that drama didn't last very long. I would've preferred Cerys being more reluctant, and James being the one to pursue more relentlessly when he realized his feelings for her. He was still OTT stalker possessive though, which was nice.

Safety:
* Heroine is a sweet, adorable virgin who was never in a relationship.
* Hero is very much not a virgin. Has an entire "game" where he seduces and courts women, only to use them up and move on to stalking his next victim. Becomes completely dedicated to heroine after seeing her.
* No OM, no OW (hero originally was going to pursue heroine's stepmom, but that left his mind fast as soon as he saw heroine)
* No condoms or protection
* HEA with epilogue and heroine is heavily pregnant at the end.

If you are looking for a quick and fast paced insta love that borders on the creepy factor then this is a fab little novella sized book that you won't want to miss.

There's nothing much I can say with regards to the plot line because of the shortness of this book but Cerys and James will take you on a quick ride on the crazy train. Cerys is an 18 year old virgin and James likes to stalk his next sexual conquest. Cerys wasn't his original target, but she definitely sidetracked him, leaving him in a dilemma because she intrigued him instantly which took him out of his usual MO.
The question is can he let go of the past and pursue his newfound obsession?

The only gripe I had with this and it's just my personal preference is that it was to short for me and in turn I couldn't connect with the characters. However that being said, K Webster & Dani Renee created a fab little hot under the collar read that will wow the majority of novella lovers.

They are both bat shit crazy , kind of unrealistic but funny at the same time.
He is a stalker,40+.
She is a strange 18 year old girl.
This story was all insta everything , but i feel like we needed more from James past, he and his stalkerish ways with different women's , i felt like this plot was really good but not developed enough because it's a novella 😥 i wish was a novel, they could do an awesome book from it.
If you like insta story's this book is perfect.

Honestly, I don't know what I am doing anymore...

This book was BAD, really BAD, but at same time was fun, AND NOT A STALKER BOOK! Where were the stalking parts that I so strangely like? Not in this book, for sure, and this made me so disappointed!!!!!!!
I really don't know how I cursed my readings at this point of my life.

Now let me show you this amazing quote:

"I want to lock you away. I want to fuck my fat cock into your cunt and knock you up. I want to see you swell up with my babies. Not just one, Cerys. I want you to give me a family."

This was the day after they met. Talk about an insta instalove... without the stalking parts...

"Everyone thought we were crazy," she says, her voice breathless. "Instalove, they said. Nobody falls in love at first sight. That's for movies and books."

THAT'S RIGHT!

Ms. Rene is one of a VERY FEW one click authors that I’d buy a book knowing absolutely zero about it except that she is the author.
Ms. Webster is also one of my top ten favorite authors.
Combine these two amazing talents together and well buckle up and be prepared for one wild unpredictable ride!
This book hooked me from the very first sentence!
I loved how they put it together and how it unfolds.
James is one very compelling man.
He’s sexy, successful and gets what he wants.
But he has some very questionable tendencies.
He is so much more than what meets the eye.
I was spellbound by him.
I found him to be intriguing and I was immediately drawn to him.
Cerys is an incredible young lady!
I loved how sassy and brave she is.
At times she’s scared and unsure but she always stood her ground!
I really appreciated how strong and determined she is even though her life experiences are basically zero.
The chemistry between James and Cerys just comes to life off of the pages. Even from their very first encounter.
Everything between them is volatile.
Be it their discussions, arguments or their sex. They ignite fire and explosions.
Everything just sizzles and vibrates around them, that I felt right now to my soul.
I devoured each and every word and absolutely loved every minute of this book!
