This was a short quick read with a few bonus books at the end of it. Claire has had bad luck with men while out on a date she is confronted with the man's girlfriend who she thought was his wife who she knew nothing about. While walking to the subway she is hit by a car and wakes up in the hospital where she meets a woman who tells her that she was given a blood transfusion and that her blood matches for a man looking for a surrogate. When she gets home she is faced with eviction with no job and no money she agrees to do it after all it pays 1 million dollars. When she learns that Dax is a wolf shifter she is a little scared but goes through with it and get pregnant on the first try. This was also a good read and moved fast turns out Dax's wife killed herself she was mentally ill she finds out when she finds a picture of a woman and paints her. This book didn't have any of the action that the first one had although I thought it would because the cook wanted him and was mean to Claire. The sex between these two was pretty good. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

Lack of connection

The sex scenes were told rather than shown. I really could not feel any character connection. The story is good. But with no connection for me this story was a cold read I wanted to like this one. But it was a huge let down.

From my omnibus review:
Basically, this was a pretty bad read. I was sick and it was there, so...

All of the stories have the same story line and the characters are close to being 100% interchangeable. I was flabbergasted when I saw the ratings for this one. Goes to show it takes all types for the world to go 'round. It also shows that GR ratings mean jack-all.

Here’s the formula: girl is shit broke. Boy is shit rich. Girl is in shit situation because of a fuckboy. Girl gets recruited to be a surrogate for a crapton of money IF she fits the necessary DNA profile AND she stays with the boy for the duration of the pregnancy. The relationship goes “from 0 to 100 real quick” and suddenly they are in love. The end.

This one isn't as bad as #1. This one has the girl unable to get into a real relationship because reasons. BOOM! Follow the rest of the recipe above.

💢Ms. Sky wrote a great plot but after awhile it started to get boring. I read on knowing what would happen next, definitely there was no action.

🔹️Claire Holloway is human Artist with the worse luck in the world. Not selling even one painting, her waitress job wasn't enough to pay her back rent, buying food at the dollar store, Claire was at her lowest. Then she got hit by a car. While in the hospital she's approached by a lady saying she had the right blood to be a surrogate. Could she do that? The money phenomenal but could she give her baby up?

🔹️Dax Westwood is a rich Wolf Shifter who lives on a mountain top. Being Alpha of his clan he had many responsibility to his pack. One of the was procreate, he was all for a surrogate. A few months into the pregnancy things changed?

💥I have voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my own and honest.

Sky Winters is a relatively new author for me. Prior to her Shifter Surrogate Service series I had only read one other book of hers, Wolf Babies, which I enjoyed (and also recommend). Well, based on that book, The Dragon’s Surrogate (Shifter Surrogate Service Book 1) - which was also super - and now The Wolf's Surrogate (Shifter Surrogate Service Book 2), its clear that I have to become much better acquainted with her work. As the book’s blurb promises, this is one heck of a hot “steamy shifter romance”. This novel truly is, quite simply, wonderful. This tale had just what I wanted and was well written and with a great plot and great cast of characters. Claire, the lead here, is perfectly crafted and her supporting cast (especially her yummy Dax) is also superb.

But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, it is easy to highly recommended I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

This was definitely better than book 1 but I noticed a couple times some of the same lines that just transferred over. I think it was just twice but noticeable because it was the exact same spots. I dont like when authors do that. I also noticed with these books the men treat these women in kind of the same way. Nice the first day or 2 then act like a douche then quickly feel guilty about it then they are nice again. Its too much of a yoyo. I dont like hot/cold characters. I did like both Dax and Claire though. Their characters were more well rounded. Needed more about them development wise but its a big improvement and I want to give credit where its due. There was no conflict in this book and I think there should have been in regards to Katherine. I mean I think Dax should have at least had a conversation with the poor woman. I felt kinda bad for her. Unrequited love sucks and it just wasnt touched on and it should have been. Just one of those things were its left hanging.

This is Dax and Claire's story , Claire is having one heck of a horrid date !! And man does it get worse for her after she leaves those two to each other !! After waking up and learning that she was hurt so bad that she had a blood transfusion . What is odder still is having some really weird dreams over a wolf . Once she learns just how bad she was she now has to worry about how she is going to make it knowing that since she has to heal there is no way to pay her rent nor her bills . While waiting for the doc to come in and release her she gets an unexpected visit by a woman she does not know and is surprised by what she has to say . Dax is trying his best to do the right thing by having a child to keep their species from going extinct . When he meets Claire in the office and shows her what and who he is was wicked cool . This story flows so smoothly that once you start you will not want to even take a break it is that good !

“The Wolf's Surrogate” is the second book in the Shifter's Surrogate series and it is a very entertaining read. I like that the story is quite different from the usual shifter books. The characters involved are Dax a handsome, wealthy, widower, wolf shifter who desperately wants a child. He doesn't want the complications of a relationship so he decides to hire a surrogate. Claire is down on her luck with no place to live and no job so she is accepts the arrangement for one million dollars. It's only nine or ten months and then she can make a new start. How will Claire feel when she discovers that Dax is a wolf shifter. Can she live with Dax the entire pregnancy and not be attracted to him? The superb writing and complex characters make “The Wolf's Surrogate” a pleasure to read. Don't miss out.

Short read, but I really enjoyed reading it. We have Claire who was raised in foster care and is down on her luck. We have Dax who is a wolf shifter and wants a child to keep his family going. Claire is asked to be a surrogate for Dax. She really needs the money, so she goes to the interview. When she decides to do it, she can't believe everything that is happening. Does Dax really have feelings for her? Can she really accept Dax as a Wolf Shifter? I would have liked to know more about the other characters and what happened with their feelings in the story, instead of a few sayings, but nothing coming of them

Repetitive; could have been better

This story was nearly identical to the previous in the series in so many ways, especially the behaviors of the main males. I would have liked to have seen more differences. In ways, it felt like I was reading the same story again the names were different (plus other stuff, but it was sooooo much like the first) and the main female was kinda a spoilee brat. Sure she was poor, but her attitude, especially in the beginning, was pretty snobby. It has positive attributes but I don't necessarily recommend it.

Excellent contemporary wolf shifter romance. As a dragon he needs/wants a baby to make sure that their line won’t end. Dax is not interested in romance. Claire is down on her luck yet decides to be his surrogate. Surprises occur along the way. Ashley and Colin each have their own issues yet come together for their future child. I received a complementary copy of this book (it’s part of the set: Shifter Surrogate Service) and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Winters.

Awesome

I liked the flow of the story and the portrayal of the characters in it. I do think that the longing of the chef for the man of the house is somewhat passive-aggressive and I never got the feeling of a conclusion to that. On another note the dreams Claire has in the beginning could of taken another turn. I thought that when she dreamed of crashing into the rocks that Hannah was "speaking beyond the grave " so to speak and saying it wasn't suicide but murder. I think the reason for the dreams given at the end was sweet and just as useful.

It’s an interesting premise but it was a whole lot of nothing. The best description I can give is anti-climactic. Tons of words yet no story; no build up. For example, they make a big deal that the H is a shifter yet there is no shifter storyline at all. The author makes numerous references to a woman that works for the H and is secretly in love with him. I kept waiting for her to do something, anything. I thought she would try to break them up, attack the h, try to seduce the H, kidnap the baby. Something. Nope. Just more useless words with no storyline.

An extremely well written storyline. I enjoyed the interaction between Claire & Dax. She tried so hard to find a way out of her difficulties that when the opportunity arrived to become a surrogate, there really was no other choice. Dax was still trying to come to terms with the loss of his wife and stubbornly refused to see what was right in front of his face. The sparks between these two characters added to my enjoyment of the book. Well worth the read.

Leaving thing in the past

This is just another story in the Surrogate Inc. series. This book was a little dry for my taste but still a decent read for the lunch hour.

The story does give you a bit of back story on Claire so that you have an idea of why the way she is. Dax had more of a difficult past and had a little more to overcome.

The books are not connect but they share a similar need.

I read and reviewed this book without obligation to the author.

Loved this story

I think it was so nice and sweet that Dax gave his blood to save Claire when she was in the hospital after she got hit by a car. The blood from Dax gave Claire dreams about her future family unbeknownst to her at the time until it she saw them with her own eyes. I love that Dax gave Claire someplace to do something she loved even when he was fighting his feelings about her and their relationship.

Dax and Claire are brought together unexpectedly. He needs a surrogate if he wants to be a father and she needs money. Her decision to be his surrogate brings an intimacy to their connection that neither expected.

It is well written and I enjoyed the romance. They both really need that connection to energize their lives.

More like 1.5.

Premise was interesting so I decided to read it on kindle unlimited. Extremely disappointed both in the story and the length. The actual story that this book is supposed to be is only EIGHT PERCENT(8%!) of the kindle book. And I thought the ones that were 60% story, 40% extra was too much. Sheesh. Don’t bother buying this, it’s not worth it.

Loved this wolfy romance!

This story is about a young woman down on her luck and finances who accepts a job as a surrogate to a wolf shifter and all the events that occurs following her being selected as perfect for the job. Sexy, romantic, a wonderful afternoon read. In addition Sky Winters has included several samples and a full length story.

Great

I love this story. It's about Claire who is broke and is being threatened with eviction, and Dax a wolf shifter who needs a child to carry on his legacy. They meet after she was hit by a car and needed extra blood. From that the surrogacy program contacts her and the rest of the story continues.

Very detailed until 1/3 of the way thru

And then after their relationship (if you can call it that) starts, the passage if time is random and soaced way out. Their is no conflict in the book and i kept waiting for the someones who didnt want this pregnancy to happen.

Overall the book was rushed. And cliché

Dax’s line was almost obsolete and a chance accident brought Claire into his life. With a perfect blood match, she’s offered the job to be his surrogate. Claire is at rock bottom and while understandably nervous she accepts the position. It does take long for them to fall. A few bumps along the way but it’s overall a sweet ride. Great ending.

Enjoyable and Entertaining Read

Enjoyable fast-paced story. Both are damaged in their own way but I like how they learn to overcome their fears and insecurities. My only issue was I was expecting more drama or conflict. Overall a entertaining read.
