Even if you can escape from the tunnels, you will not leave unscathed.

After a dare goes wrong, Philippe Ormandie finds himself the mouse in a metaphysical chase that takes him far from home. It isn’t until he finally confronts the redhead stalking him that he discovers he’s in more danger than he ever dreamed possible.

When Truth-Seeker, Margaret of Cornwall, catches up to Philippe in San Antonio she whisks him away to what she hopes is a safe place. Unfortunately, the builders of the tunnels won’t be foiled so easily, and she finds herself hunted, as well. Betrayal and old family drama follow Maggie and Philippe no matter where they land, forcing Philippe into rash action.

Maggie needs all the help she can get as time grows short for Philippe and the battle ends up being not only for control of the tunnels, but for Philippe’s soul. In the end, the ultimate question is not how Maggie will recover, but who will pay the price.

Understanding that this is the first book of a series, this book had a LOT going on. It involved time travel, danger, and all kinds of magical and paranormal characters. It took me a while to unpack this story. Definitely not what I was expecting but the author did a good job of keeping me hanging on until I finished the book, If you like a book with a lot of twists and turns then this might just be the book for you

This is a great start to this mythical urban fantasy series! There’s adventure, a little romance and some startling twists, a great storyline and fab characters. There’s fairies, ghosts, vampires, magic, excitement and some action can’t wait to read more!

I was surprised to find that this first book in the Dream Weavers & Truth Seekers series had little in common with the short story prequel, Perchance to Dream. Truth Seekers does have that ethereal Collective Unconscious feel to it, but the story line is quite different from the prequel.

Philippe seems to be an average human that inadvertently found he can travel the ‘tunnels’. These tunnels connect places that are miles apart by bags of coffee beans in a chain coffee shop. Sound like a strange place to travel from and to? Well, maybe. But in order to avoid the unknown danger, Philippe is getting very little sleep. Hence the coffee shop? It works for me. 🙂

Maggie steps in to help Philippe, not only because he needs help, but also because she needs to know about the tunnels and how they may or may not affect her world.

The adventure that follows leads to old friends and betrayal, capture and rescue. At times, the overall plot seemed a bit disconnected to me, however, reading persistence paid off and I discovered the goals of the Truth Seeker. The tale contains action that is non-stop, romance possibilities and, ultimately, an unexpected conclusion that left me a bit speechless.

Dreamlike and magical qualities flow through Truth Seeker. At the end of the story, I felt like I had awakened from a dream. I suspect that was Ms. Dominic’s goal.

I received a copy of these books from the author so that I could bring you this honest review.

Move over Scotty, this is a faster way to travel!

He has been flitting from place to place since he touched the bags of coffee beans in the çloset. Everytime he does so he is caught up by a young woman. A beautiful young woman. She has been assigned to track him down and find out exactly how he can flit from place to place. The whole world depends on this knowledge. Throw in Merlin, ghosts, vampires, werebats, magic lockets, a curse and an adversary that is determined to take over the human world. Will they be able to fight back? What price will they have to pay? Is she destined to always be alone? A great fast moving plot but please bear in mind that the story is only 86% of the page count. Great characters and a wonderful new slant on the world of the supernaturals baddies against humans and the supernatural goodies.

An original entry in the urban fantasy genre, Truth Seeker begs to be read all in one sitting. Phillipe is a guy who can sense ghosts, up until a dare from his friends sends him on a trip that awakens his abilities to the point that he can actually see them and talk to them as well. Margaret "Maggie" (but never Mags) is a Truth Seeker, a supernatural police officer with some serious family issues. Like the kind that involves betrayal, attempted murder, poisoning, were-bats, vampires, relatives of King Arthur, and a whole slew of spirits. Some are sassy, some are helpful, and some are just plain evil. This story's twists have twists, and it's all leading up to an ending that I didn't see coming. What does the future hold for Maggie and Phillipe? I can't wait to find out in the rest of the series!

This is not the first book I've read by Cecilia Dominic, but certainly the first from the Dream Weavers world. It is a relatively short and easy to read novella. We're introduced to Philippe who had gotten himself trapped in a series of tunnels that traverse a coffee shop chain. Maggie is there to help rescue him.

Maggie's not the only person after Philippe though, there's a darker force at play here and some evil persons are out there hunting him as well.

I thought the ending meant there is a chance to read more about these characters, as there is potential to further develop the story around them.

I love the world that Cecilia Dominic is developing for her Dream Weavers and Truth Seekers series. If you’re tired of the same old thing in urban fantasy, you should definitely give this series a try. The Collective Unconscious is a place where certain mortals can intermingle with beings from mythology, and creatures from your childhood nightmares might do much more than go bump in the night.

Truth Seeker captured my interest right from the start and completely held my attention right to the end. It’s a fairly quick-paced mystery/adventure with hints of paranormal romance. I liked both main characters as well as many of the secondary characters. The plot was full of surprises with an ending I didn’t see coming.

Those who dislike cliffhanger endings may be a little frustrated with that ending. The major plot of this novella is resolved, but a new problem is introduced right at the end, and there are clear threads to be followed in the next book. I think the new problem could take the story in very interesting directions in the future, but it also left me feeling somewhat emotionally unsatisfied at the end of this book. And anxiously waiting for the next volume in this series, which I’m sure was the intention.

Recommended for those who enjoy mythology and paranormal/urban fantasy series.

I received an ARC from the author and volunteered to review it. The version I reviewed was cleanly edited and formatted. The story and language are also pretty clean and should be appropriate for a wide audience.

Maggie has been around a long time. Since King Arthur's time. She was deleted from history when she took a position as a supernatural cop. Her sister is after a young man named Philippe. He has the ability to see ghosts and then one day he manages to find a portal that leads him into a tunnel system anywhere only it seems to be random. Now Maggie needs to protect him and to discover how he got into the tunnel system as a human. Only evil forces are closing in and life is getting shorter.
Excitement, adventure and unrequited love makes for a story that will entrap you within it.

It’s All in the Coffee Beans

This is a unique book filled with the paranormal and a hefty dose of action. There are vampires, ghosts, and fairies. Best of all, there is magic and even coffee. What does coffee have to do with anything? You’ll have to read this entertaining story to find out how coffee enters the equation. I feel like there should be more to read about Philippe and Maggie, and I hope that is in the next story in the series. This is my first book by this author, and I look forward to reading more.

Maggie is a Truth Seeker, an enforcer of paranormal situations, who needs information about the tunnels. Philippe, who unfortunately ends up trapped there, doesn’t understand what’s going on. Dangers, betrayals, and the unexpected appear. I enjoyed reading this Urban Fantasy and will be reading more novels by this author.

This family-friendly chase between good and evil has a very interesting start and takes less than a day to read. I don't think it is a spoiler to give my favorite quote from Part 1, Chapter 2: "Coincidence doesn't believe in humans, either."

The book revolves around a new concept of Truth Seeker. Somebody who can make the other person tell the truth just by looking into their eyes.

Though the concept is great, the book fast paced, the plot moves quickly, the book doesn't leave a very solid impact on the reader.
