And quite possibly one of her father’s spies.

The story revolves around Lady Perpetua, a great British spymaster's daughter and Fox, an American artist/spy working for Lady Perpetua's father.
There is a lot of backstory here which I found a bit difficult to follow. This is book 4 in the series. I haven't read the preceding books and I wish I had. I was intrigued, and the pace was good throughout. I would be happy to start at book one to gain a better understanding of the characters as they all seem interesting. The set up for the next book where Lord Shaldon, the spymaster himself gets his comeuppance sounds well worth the read.
There is a mildly described love scene.
