Good read but

This is a good read. Really interesting, makes you think and challenge your way of thinking. I must say also that it is an excellent read for anyone that gets deep into any kind of analysis for a living. However I will not rate it more than 3 stars because I think that the book unsuccessfully struggled not being a textbook. Don't get me wrong. I totally recommend it but I just couldn't give the 4 stars.

This book teach about the basic trait of critical thinking. It also teaches the attitude toward learning and receiving new information though the lens of critical thinking. A critical thinker need to dig deeper into any piece of information they receive and not just believe anything at face believe.

The author explore a few biases that hinder our critical thinking. Culture and traditional belief will also hinder our journey to dig deeper into a subject. This book is great for people who want to start their learning journey though reading books and apply the knowledge from books.

It chapter teaches different area to sharpen our critical thinking skill. The benefit of critical thinking skill is to sharpen ones skill and ask important question so who can perform and solve difficult problem

Good introduction/refresher for critical thinking

The author provides a concise overview of critical thinking and the subcomponents that one should master to become a better critical thinker. The most important part I took away from this is the reminder to not only question the external factors such as knowledge you gain or other people’s opinions, but also question yourself to validate your thoughts and identify your biases so that you can form a rational perspective. I would recommend this book to those needing to learn about critical thinking and those needing a refresher.

It read like how I write an assignment for school needing to reach a minimum word count.

Felt like a dictionary reading definitions of words that related to critical thinking.

Stories felt uninspired.

“To critically think is to question”

Also disappointed that socrates, plato, and aristotle were on the cover but only socrates was mentioned for 2 pages. Had hopes the book would incorporate their philosophy and teachings in here…

Honestly this is a pass. A passing grade for school but a pass if you have any other book to read instead.
