Rate this book
1879 Blooming Grove, Montana When Amy Pierce gets off the train in Blooming Grove, Montana with only a few coins in her pocket and the determination to start a new life, she’s sure there’s been a mistake. Instead of the bustling railroad stop she expected, there’s little more than a mercantile and ominous foundations without buildings to match. Amy refuses to turn back to a life of unhappiness, but wouldn’t that be better than starving to death in the middle of nowhere? When Ezra Miller, a local rancher with a serious demeanor and stiff sense of responsibility, stumbles upon Amy, his heart skips a beat. The last thing he needs in his life is another complication, but he won’t leave a woman alone and unprotected. With Amy’s honor and Ezra’s responsibility hitting head on, the only way he can keep her safe is through a marriage of convenience. As news of an outlaw posse reaches the ranch, he realizes he may have done the opposite… Amy and Ezra had both given up on love a long time ago. Will they work through their difficult pasts and give love a second chance? A clean romance set in the American West! Strong women and their true-hearted men.

This is my first "indie" western historical romance reads - and I will continue to read and support indie authors! Overall, The Rancher's Runaway Bride was a good read. The first half of the novel was rather slow, however, the story begins to pick up once the outlaws arrive, which was around the 150 page mark. I am looking forward to Sarah Stubbs' future books.

I've come to really enjoy reading historical fiction and this book was great! I'm not big on romance books, but this had just enough that it wasn't too overbearing. I felt the characters were well developed and each had their own personalities. Parts of this book reminded me of the Love Saga movies; I have yet to read the books. There was one curse word that I felt wasn't necessary and didn't add to the story. I liked the theme of redemption for one of the characters, that was really good. Overall it was an enjoyable read and I'll definitely check out more of this series.

I loved it

What a wonderful book! I read a lot of books and I have to say The Ranchers Runaway Bride ( Brides of Blooming Grove series) was one of the best Westerns I have read in a long time. I had not read any of Sarah Stubbs books before but now I plan on reading all of them. She is a very talented author. Their were so many exciting twists and turns everyone in this story had such an interesting personality. This author made it all so real. I felt like I was their and even told my husband part of the story. That’s when I know a book is really good when I am still thinking and talking about it after I am done reading it. I hope Brides Of Blooming Grove is a multiple book series because I fell in love with all the brothers their friends and the entire town. Plus the romance between Ezra and Amy was so wonderful. Amy was perfect for him it just took him awhile to admit it. All the sweet things he did for her and the scene where they met at the store was amazing. Amy was sweet, kind, sheltered with a backbone of steel. You never knew what she was going to do. Amy was a fun character to read about. I highly recommend this book.

Good read

Amy is on the run from her father, who has bargained her off to a lecherous man for money. She boards a train for the end of the line, Blooming Grove, Montana. Upon arrival she discovers a near-dead town, nowhere to go, and no money. Enter Ezra, local rancher, who stops her from her idea of walking to the next town, which would take days. But with no place to stay, she agrees to marry Ezra only until the next train comes through in a month. They have no idea of the chaos about to descend on the Miller ranch. Excellent story line, and a well written book. I look forward to reading other books by this author.

I loved this book so much I couldn’t put it down until I was finished.Amy ‘s father tries to marry her off to a business associate that was older and not very nice so she took off out west. She finds a piece of paper that says a certain town has lots of jobs available but when she gets there with little money left she finds out that it wasn’t true. With no money and nowhere to go
A stranger comes to her rescue.

Loved it!

New to me author! I absolutely loved the story of Amy and Ezra. They were so perfectly made for each other. Just took poor Ezra awhile to admit it! Thankfully, he’s opened to the treasure he had in Amy.

Looking forward to start James’ story next! Hoping Emmet and Liam get their own stories as well ☺️

I would have given five stars, but about 3/4 in, there were several typos and missed punctuation.

This was a sweet romance tale with the usual plot, but it was nearly identical to The Lady and the Mountain Man. Girl comes to the west on her own escaping a bad engagement, gets married to a stranger and her dad sends crooks to get her. Yawn.

This book is in desperate need of proofreading. There are so many grammatical errors in addition to the misuse of to/too and your/you’re. There’s really no excuse for how bad it is.

The Ranchers Runaway Bride is the first book in The Brides of Blooming Grove series. It is the story of a young woman Amy who heads out west to escape her cruel father and a young rancher Ezra who is struggling to keep his families ranch profitable. The story has a lot of great characters, a few of whom have stories of their own in other books. The series is a clean romance, which honestly I prefer. I like it when the author focuses more on the character's and the storyline. If you enjoy historical romances, I highly recommend this book and the entire series.

Enjoyable

I enjoyed my first book by Sara Stubbs. Loved the simple tale of love. The characters were all good and kind, others were quirky - John in the mercantile. Bad guys were nasty! Some parts were truly unbelievable….and I like for stories to feel somewhat believable - not so far fetched. And that at least one bad guy got turned around. - there’s always hope! No sexual content at all. No filth!
I will read more from this author.

WOW! Wish I had known about this series sooner. Throughly enjoyed this book, in spite of the errors pointed out from previous readers. To be able to travel back in time through the words written by someone, is truly a remarkable gift on the part of this author. Thank you for that privilege. Looking forward to the next book.

Enjoyed

Enjoyed (laughed more) first half of book than second half.
Disappointing that husband took the longest amount of time to realize he loved his wife and tell her.
"Out of loop" term seems to be 20th century phrase.
