Not a fan of a lot of this, but it was able to help me to categorize a few things. It was for class. I found the best way to learn in class was not to pay as much attention to this as to listen to classmates and learn movie analysis inductively.

I had to read this for a film course. It turns out I'm not very good at film, and this book made the experience of writing essays for it much less torturous.
Easy to read and does what it says on the tin.

I would recommend this book to all film students, particularly undergrads.
