A great read for runners who want some structure & a plan.

First off, the author tells us the books not really for elite runners. Ok, that means it’s useful for the other approx 90-95%? This book is well laid out & addresses problems I encountered when trying to write my own training plan. I can use the concepts in this book to organize my own plans instead of purchasing cookie cutter plans. It provides immensely more detail on different types of workouts than I expected. I look at it as a great book written a normal runner (is there such a thing), for normal runners. He understands that life does get in the way of plans. Would definitely recommend to friends, family, & fellow runners.

Great guide and approach to building a training plan

Denny great job at explaining life and how it intertwines with running. The importance of keep moving I wish I had this prior to my first half, now I will build my plan for a full marathon.

Exactly as advertised

The book was very practical, with some great advice. I’m still doing 5ks this year, but the concepts were somewhat applicable.

This was much shorter than I expected (what up e-book) but was completely full of very useful information about the training process, racing, and recovery. Plus how to make your own training plan.
