He would do anything for his mate. But who would respect a dragon farmer?
When her family farm falls into Sandy Talbert’s lap, it couldn’t have happened at a better time. Her life in the city was over. She needed a change, and more importantly, she needed the solitude. Running a farm by herself is harder than it seems, and three years later she’s on the verge of being forced to sell to her jerk of a neighbor. The only thing standing between her and defeat is the odd offer made to her by a gorgeous stranger she barely knows.
Palin never expected to find his mate. He was on a mission, assigned to figure out if this war the humans were talking about was truly as serious as they claimed. Knowing how pathetic humans were, he highly doubted it. But an emergency stop for food at a local farmers market has thrown all his plans into disarray. Leaving his comrades behind, he ventures into the world of farms, famine, and intrigue beyond anything he could imagine. She needs his help, but Palin doesn’t know one end of a hoe from the other!
Determined to help her out, Palin agrees to plow her fields. It’s not what Sandy signed up for, but she can’t deny that he’s helpful—and hunky. If she can convince him to stay, she could finally turn a profit and stick it to her nasty neighbor. Can she do that while still maintaining her policy of not letting anyone into her life? And what about her neighbor? How will he react when he finds out his designs on her farm won’t ever come to fruition?

Amelia Jade loves to write the stories of tall, growly shifter men and the women who come to love them. Living out in the back-country near the mountains, she keeps her own alpha male close by, to keep the bears away and keep her warm. In her down time (which is rare), she loves to read science-fiction with a dash of fantasy. You can often find her curled up in front of the real wood-burning fireplace, her nose firmly buried in a book or her favorite ereader. The cold can't bother her there!

Fantastic first Dragon book, great Agency collection!
When you buy Palin the first Emerald Dragon's book, you also get the complete Agency series of The Sentinel Bears. While I had read the Sentinels before I really enjoyed them this unexpected second time. You even get Frost Dragon another exciting shifter book. But the Emerald Dragon is quite extraordinary. Palin is from a long lost colony of dragons. He finds humans weak and beneath him. He just wants to go back home and let the humans fend for themselves against the so-called Outsiders. Until he stumbles into a farmer's market and he meets Sandy. She's a struggling farmer, and although he hates vegetables, he finds he has to help her This is the first Outsider book in which the Dragon goes it alone in the human world. It's refreshing that Palin makes independent decisions, not influenced by the military or other dragons. He faces and conquers the demons Sandy faces, cleans up problems on his own and, hopefully, gets his happy ending. Stay tuned for the next book in the series, it's gonna be a doozy.
Unlike the awakened dragons Palin is a member of the enclave and has an ingrained prejudice against humans. He along with a couple of others were sent to see if they would contribute to the war with the Outsiders. When he meets his mate a finds that she's human he is confused and must rethink his position on his old beliefs, Sandy recovering from a traumatic experience in her past does not let people into her life and is confused at how Palin seems to be making a place for himself in it. As he breaks down her walls they face a bit of danger and he must make a very hard choice before they can have there happily ever after. Though part of a larger series this book can be read as a standalone. I have read and reviewed this as a voluntary ARC.
An enjoyable read with likeable characters. I loved how the author dropped us right in the deep end from the beginning, then slowly unfolded the story from then on. Liked Sandy and Palin, found Sandy’s reasoning for her isolation understandable but was glad Palin was drawing her out. Palin’s powers were very interesting and I laughed at him giving the fruit and vegetables to the other dragon mates. And Rusty the neighbour, nice twist. Thought the snobbery of the dragons was quite funny and cannot wait for Rowe to get his book, humans are beneath us. Oh boy is he in for a shock. This is my honest review of this book.
I thought this was another Outsiders book. They were mentioned and that was about it. Sandy was as strong as she was afraid. Her life was in her farm. She needed to keep it going to have the money for taxes. Palin, Torren and Rowe were dragons, who come to see if what the military says is true about Outsiders. While stopping at a Farmers market, Palin meets Sandy. His Dragon knows Sandy is their mate. Stanley's not trusting of other humans so he has to place himself into her life to protect and see to her needs. This was a good book. More of a love story with so drama thrown in from a land grabbing neighbor. I voluntarily agreed to review this book. My review is my own honest opinion.
Palin has always believed that humans were beneath him and couldn't be a dragon's mate. Sandy longs for solitude and moved to her family's farm to get it. Instantly drawn together, will Palin accept Sandy is his mate? Will Sandy learn to trust Palin?
After meeting the green dragon previously, I was excited to get this book. Out of all the dragon groups, I would have to say these have the worst attitude, but I loved seeing Palin adjusting his way of thinking. Loved how determined Sandy was to make a living and that one she opened her heart, she blossomed. Great read!

Loved it. All of this author's books are well written and so enjoyable to read. Even though he does not know what he is doing he comes along at the right time. But people can learn. She is happy to get him. But has a desire for more with him but is scared. Then throw in the neighbor that thinks he has it easy in getting her farm. Hah. Guess he was wrong. I highly recommend it. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.
So much packed into this novel that I couldn’t put down. It’s enough to make me quit my day job! If you’re following The Outsiders series you simply must read this (but you know that already), and if you haven’t started from the beginning, you owe it to yourself to go back now. Should you choose to start here, you’re going to go back to the beginning anyway, they’re just that good. Highly recommended.
A dragon romance. This story really brings the romance. He can’t stand humans but fate seems to have her own thoughts on that. Once he meets the human woman that is his mate, everything about him changes. I love how he never lies to her and does everything he can to gain her trust and her heart. And her character is great. She has a past and wants to be left alone. But one gorgeous male has decided that isn’t going to happen. A little bit of action and som hot scenes.
Very fun, interesting books-read from the beginning!
Unique and interesting; a battle to save the world-one arrogant dragon at time! The emerald dragons are stubborn and proud, but it was a pleasure to watch them be tamed by mere humans!
I read the three emerald dragon books first, not realizing they were part of a bigger world. I would suggest starting from the beginning though.
Grab a comfy corner and cuppa joe, you won’t want to put the books down!
Overall, this was a pretty good book. I really liked Sandy pretty early on. Palin did take some time for me to warm up to, I didn't care much for him at first. But he did grow on me once I started seeing more of him with Sandy. Overall, I liked it, and it's a pretty good start to a new series. Although I do have to admit, I miss the bear shifter books. I was gifted a copy.
Chapter one was great. the rest of the book not so much. The Characters were flat and boring. Sandys reason for becoming a recluse was IMHO, dumb. I could see hiding away for a month or two. but to give up everything made no sense to me. The ending of the book felt like it was mid story which always annoys me. I am debating whether to read book 2 in the hopes that it is better.
It's a good story once it gets started. I liked this story until I started to love it. It starts off relatively slowly, with too much exposition, but there is world building, so I get that. It took a while for me to get into the story, but by the time that the bonfire comes around, I was invested and interested in seeing where else this story was going to go.
The stories move to a bit different scenario. General Mara is trying to win the dragons from the enclave to her side against the Outsiders. Not an easy task.
For adult readers. This one didn't have the Outsiders attacking or really any military interactivity. It was still a good story. I like seeing the snobby green Dragon proved wrong.
Like the way this story was written. Even though it is a spinoff from the Outsider Novel it was not solely focused on the aliens. You will get more about the dragon and their circumstance which is really nice.
Just a hint there is a double whammy of discord with a nice twist.
