It's a truism that people are much busier than ever. Soccer moms race to practices and games, activists hurry to committee meetings, moms and dads find themselves working late, parents juggle work, a return to college and a family. With the bad economy, some people have to work two jobs and still somehow get food on the table for their families. Well, The Good-To-Go Cookbook: Take-Along Food, Quick Suppers, and Satisfying Snacks for On-The-Go Families by Kathleen Cannata Hanna is the answer to your prayer.

In it, there are recipes designed to literally grab and go: sandwiches, snacks, and more. Some can be quickly eaten before you have to be somewhere at 6 p.m.; others can even be consumed in the car en route. In addition, Hanna has included lots of dinner recipes that can be prepared in 15 minutes -- yes, 15 minutes! -- or by a teenager before you even get home. Others take 30 minutes. And, as though to assuage your guilt, Hanna includes an entire chapter on meals that take longer than 30 minutes for when you do have the time. Some of these are easy enough for a teenager or can be frozen to thaw and reheat when you're more pressed for time. (Some can be frozen before being cooked and then go into the oven frozen and simply baked for 40 to 50 minutes longer than the original baking time.)

Once you start using this cookbook, you'll wonder how you got along without it. It sure makes a hectic schedule much more manageable.

I found this little gem on a clearance rack a LLLOOONNNGGGtime ago and I LOVE it, love it, love it. I have a collection of weird or interesting themed cook books but for everyday use, this is my favourite by far!

A disappointing book. No unique recipes or ideas. For example: In a hurry? Eat a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup!

Really basic prep and recipes. Good for the new cook, or for working with/ teaching your kids how to cook.

This cookbook was extremely not my style - lots of meat, mayonnaise, and Worcestershire sauce - but very easy, some fun recipes kids could make, and versions of things my mom made when I was a kid.

If I ignore the chicken recipes there are still loads I'd be interested in trying.
