Daniel Solano has to take a wife to make sure a Mafia war doesn’t start. He must marry a Valenti daughter, but the oldest doesn’t appeal to him, even if he will do what needs to be done to keep the peace. But then he meets the youngest daughter, Natalie Valenti. Natalie has always done whatever she could to stay out of the Mafia life, including avoiding her family most of the time. Still, she’s home for Thanksgiving—and meets Daniel. Daniel makes it clear he will marry a Valenti—and it will be Natalie. Seeing no other choice, her father orders her to marry Daniel. She tries to fight it, to no avail. She becomes Daniel’s wife, and in doing so, is forced into the Mafia life she tried so hard to escape. Daniel vows to take care of Natalie, so when someone places a hit on her, everything comes to a head. Daniel won’t allow anything to happen to his wife, and whoever tries will answer to him. But will Natalie ever accept this life? Can Daniel ever give her what she craves … love?

Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound.
She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.

Great mafia romance. I love a good arranged marriage story. Both hero and heroine are likable loving and faithful! Love scenes are hot. Epilogue with their baby girl melted my heart! I recommend.

Although "His to Take" by Sam Crescent was not all blood and gore or even the dark side of the Mafia lifestyle, I enjoyed Daniel and Natalie's story. What Natalie went through with her cruel family excluding her father was heartbreaking. Daniel, the next in line to be the Mafia Don of the Solano family was perfect for Natalie, the sweet daughter who was able to leave the Mafia until Daniel chose her over the flirty sister, Louisa.

I'm hoping that Daniel's brothers, Ronnie and Vincent gets their own stories told too. That in itself would be promising since they were an intricate part of Daniel's life.

"His to Take" is the story of Natalie and Daniel.

Our h and H come from mafia families, and meet when the H's wedding is fixed with the h's slutty sister. The h is an oddball in her family- her siblings and mother detest her, and only her father cares for her..while she lives a secret life. The H is instantly charmed by the h, and chooses her as his bride. They get married, where the h respects her wishes and consummates the relationship only when she is ready. After some drama and hot sex, they get their heavily bred HEA.

Enjoyed it!

Okay so!

I was really excited for this story!

Daniel is all set to the marry the eldest Valenti daughter but when he goes to meet her uhh yeah that's not happening. And then Natalie steps in and he's hell bent on having her and in doing so he has brought her back into the life she worked so hard to get out of.

Now they are married but the troubles don't just end there. There's a lot going on and a lot happening.
I enjoyed this! My favorite trope and I was like yaaaaaas morreeee!

This was great mafia romance. I couldn't stop reading. I adore Daniel. That mobster was just... The way he was with Natalie... Perfection. Natalie was one lucky girl. She got a husband who's ready to give her stars and the moon.
I liked Daniels friends-brothers, Ronnie and Vincent. I would love to read theirs stories.

Completely safe. Heroine is a Virgin (of course) and the only mention of the Heros past is that “he played”. No OW present or interference. Considering it’s a mafia style there was only one violent scene which was extremely light.
I’d like to read about Daniels brothers.

Daniel Solano is 30 years old and his father, Frank thinks it’s time he settled down and got married. His father is the head of a crime syndicate and he wants Daniel to marry Alfie Valenti’s daughter, Louisa. Alfie and his people are rivals and a marriage between the two families will mean a peace treaty. Daniel’s two best friends/guards, Vincent and Ronnie also happen to be his father’s illegitimate sons. Daniel loves his two brothers and would take a bullet for either one of them and they feel the same about him. Daniel and his parents are going to the Valenti’s for Thanksgiving dinner and so he can sign the wedding contract. Daniel has heard all about Louisa and how she likes to spend money as fast as she gets it. When he sees her canoodling with one of her father’s men he isn’t too happy. He’s even more annoyed when he actually spends time with her and sees what a horrible woman she really is. He’s even more surprised when he meets Natalie, the youngest Valenti daughter who seems to be hated by her whole family except her father. Natalie is used to her family treating her like shit, especially her mom who tried to kill her twice when she was just a baby. After the second attempt on her life her father gave her to Mary, their cook to raise so she would be safe. She calls Mary mommy and loves her as if she were her birth mother. Her siblings hate her because their father likes her best but she wants nothing to do with the “family business” . She’s been working her ass off since she was 16 and not taking money from her dad. She promised Mary she would come for Thanksgiving otherwise she avoids her family home at all costs. Daniel is absolutely furious when he sees how Natalie is treated by her family especially because he thinks she’s such a nice person. Daniel tells Alfie he will not marry Louisa and that he will only agree to marry Natalie. Alfie promised Natalie she would never be used in this way that was why she became independent and stopped taking money from him. When her brother holds a gun to Mary’s head she has no other choice than to sign the contract and marry Daniel. Her sister has told her horror stories of losing your virginity and how men are when it comes to consummating the wedding. She is shocked when Daniel tells her they will have sex only when both of them agree to it but he does insist they at least sleep in the same bed. Daniel was a badass when he needed to be but he was also so sweet and patient with Natalie.

Short and sweet. Loved how attached he became of her so quickly. I loved most of the characters. The h's mother, brothers and sister were terrible. Great story. There was a paragraph where they found out the h's mom hired a hit man to rape and murder her. Not descriptive, but it was mentioned. Never even came close to happening. Great read.

Beautiful cover.

Boring and not in the least authentic story.
Short. Boring. No developments. Nothing you really could take serious at all. No substance to the story, the characters or the background.
For example: we have a heroine, who is hated, insulted and degraded her entire childhood by her mother and siblings. And she just keeps on telling everyone that her mother tried to kill her when she was a baby, twice. She tells it like ordering a pizza, several times to strangers. It is ridiculous. And that is all the author even contributes to such a traumatic childhood.
Another example: 3 brothers, from three different women, of course same father. And now guess??
All three of them are born on the same day!
I am not kidding. As an editor, i would slap the author upside the head for such a silly idea.

Anyway, there are a few interesting ideas, which i can count on one hand. And those just keep on repeating. It is not a fully developed story or had any realistic characters with repeating thoughts and dialogues.
The villain is of course identified in a couple of days, not that the reader and even the characters knew already who it was. They all pointed fingers before the proof was given, turns out, the author didn’t even want to make it a little bit exciting.

That is probably how Disney would present a Mafia Princess Story, with a touch of the Cinderella sparkle. Yet, with Disney we probably would have had even funny characters, some songs and cute pictures.
This book has nothing.

No recommendation from me.

Sam Crescent's mafia romances are always a one click for me. She writes them very well developed characters and plots.

Daniel and Natalie have to get married to prevent a mafia style war, even though Natalie's father had promised her to keep her out of the family lifestyle. Daniel falls for her immediately and sets about seducing his bride. Natalie thinks he will be like other mafia men, abusive and a cheater so she is surprised to realize Daniel isn't like that. Danger comes in the form of a hit being placed on her head so Daniel, his family and Natalie's father work to figure out who ordered the hit! I just loved this book. It would be nice to see if Daniels' half brothers and bodyguards get their own stories in the future.

The romance and the sensual scenes were a bit lukewarm for me. I thought the characters were inconsistent, Frank, the hero's dad for example, went from being an asshole to protective. Daniel, the hero, was sweeter than I expected, considering the title and the premise depicted him as alpha possessive, insisting the heroine marry him. He ended up being quite gentle about the courtship. Aside from the marriage politics, it didn't feel much like a mafia book. We didn't see any mafia members outside of the two families, and the violence was very tame, fairly nonexistent.

Taking what he wants

The author has done the hardest thing and filled this mafia story with sweetness and light. Yet again she has introduced us to the hard exterior of a mafia heir and presented him with the woman who releases the true softy at his core. Their way to happiness is not easy and the danger comes from where we least expect it. I was enthralled from the beginning until the end. I wish the author would give us stories for the two best friends, but no matter what she brings our way next I’m sure to enjoy it.

I really do love a good mafia romance and I was hooked by this one from the start.

Daniel has reached the age of thirty and sown his wild oats well according to his father and its time that he settled down, a wife has been chosen that will seal two mafia families together and consolidate their power. Daniel is willing to do his duty but from the reports of the oldest daughter of the Valenti family Louisa, this will never be a happy marriage. All he expects is confirmed with the first glance and knows this marriage will be the marriage from hell that is until Natalie runs through the door and his feelings change towards marriage only he won’t settle for anyone other than the youngest daughter Natalie. After watching the abuse she suffers at the hands of her mother and siblings he wants the wedding to happen sooner rather than later, nothing could dissuade him and he’s has every intention of his and Natalie’s marriage being real, this is now so much more to him than an arrangement this is his everything and when outside forces threaten what is his he will destroy anything in his path to protect what is his.

Natalie may have been born into one of the most powerful mafia families in the city but it’s a life that she has always shunned, her mother and siblings have treated her as a mistake her whole life the only person who loves her is her father and she spent more time in the kitchen with Mary than anyone else. She’s been kept like the family secret and her father agrees to let her live her life away from the family. That is until Daniel Solano and his family walk through the doors and her world is upended when she’s told that she is to marry, it’s not the life that she was promised or even wanted but accepts that this is now her reality. Daniel isn’t what she was expecting and she feels things that she never expected and now that she’s a married woman she wants a real marriage, her life may not be the one that she planned but she wants a real love and a real marriage. But now that she’s in danger can she really have her HEA?

Really loved this book it had me from start to finish and the secondary characters of the brothers and Daniel’s best friends were great really hope that they get their own stories too please. Very enjoyable read.

In the midst of reading this but right off the bat I noticed what kind of book this will be. Its the innocent virgin and the bad boy mafia type, the mafia family alliance using the archaic method of marriage. So its sort-of clique, (and I feel like this method could have been twisted to be made more interesting or create some tension that its lacking) but its not the plot thats the issue here.

The issue lies with the writing style here. Its very...zzz. In that it lacks tension, it lacks vital details and its all tell, no show. Crescent clearly establishes a lot of character vital to the plot but he does it in the most boring ways. He simply tells us and doesn’t follow up with any bare, stylistic description of these characters. Huh? I have never seen this before and I feel like maybe this author just missed this fundamental feature in writing characters, I WANT TO KNOW WHO IM READING ABOUT. GIVE ME SOMETHING TO WORK WITH PLEASE.

Also the women in this establishing scene have no essence at all apart from being eye candy, ‘fake’ selfish biatches and cooks. Its boring. Its generic. ✨wheres the spice?✨ i thought this was a mafia underground organisation i want the ✨bad bitches with stilettos and cool accents✨ please and thank you.

This whole style of just hand feeding me the tension between mother and ousted daughter, and the two conflicting sister is also boring. Its like Crescent thinks his audience cant put two to two together or pick up some BASIC in between the lines. Save that family drama and just suggest it to the audience. Dangle this in front of us to intrigue us and reel us in, dont simply tell us “He [Daniel yuck i hate the name] had a feeling there was not a lot of love lost between the two sisters”

Do you get it? I dont want to be hand fed please. INTRIGUE ME.

So to conclude, I can guess where this romance is going and its probably going to be boring virgin curvy girl who is an outsider entangles with bad boy mafia leader to be and is a walking incubator.

this was extremely disappointing…

The main lead girl had no backbone and no personality either, there wasn’t any spark between the two and i hate when characters fall in love AFTER they have sex, it’s so boring and repetitive to write.

She was a actual pushover and just let him take what he wants (hence the title of the book) but it wasn’t worth it nor did he deserve it. The male lead was a bit of a daddy’s bitch too, no backbone and kinda of a pussy.

He was a bit of a cunt over all and she didn’t make him work for it either, so plain, she didn’t even blame him either, by the second day of marriage they slept together and her opinions and ideals just changed over night??? Everything that made her HER, out the door, he treated her like a pet and absolutely didn’t respect her at all. He then kept comparing himself to RAPISTS thinking he was a amazing guy because he didn’t rape, yeah okay bro… real good guy… don’t by it, poor writing, i hate inconsistent characters.

The characters where all the same, (including the 2 main characters) they had no consistency to them and where so plain and black and white. The sex scenes were so ass too, so try and the author kept skipping the good parts or rushing them, i e read books from this author before and this was definitely one of her most disappointing ones…

His To Take by Sam Crescent is about Daniel, who is part of the mafia. To prevent a war, he has to marry someone from a rival family. However, the one that is picked for him does not appeal to him. He wants Natalie. Natalie does not want to have anything to do with the Mafia life and is trying to build her own life. But both can't escape their fate and have to work alongside now.

This book is a no-no for me. I don't really like books about the mafia, because everything is forced, women usually don't have any rights and their is just unnecessary killing all the time. This book was nothing different. There were no characters that I liked, apart from Daniel's best friends. They were quite okay. But Daniel himself was unlikeable. He's like "if I don't get what I want, there is going to be a war". He was nice to Natalie, which I liked. But everything just felt off. The sexy scenes did not sit right with me. This book just did not click with me.

I personally did not really like this book. It was a fast read and was not written badly. It was just not my cup of tea.

I loved this one. Read it in one go from beginning to end.
I loved Daniel. From the moment he met Natalie he was infatuated with her and he knew he wanted her. No matter that he was suppose to marry her sister, he refused and wanted Natalie. Don't worry the sister was kind of a biatch, and really hated Natalie.
Natalie wanted distance from her mafia family and lived with their Cook Mary when she turned sixteen. Left her family name and money behind and lived her own life. Until Daniel decided he wanted her and her father went back on his word of leaving her out of his world.
But surprising to her Daniel was everything she never knew she wanted. He was kind, sweet and loving and so patient with her that she couldn't help but fall in love with him.
But life wasn't all rosy and sunshine, someone put a hit on Natalie and Daniel will do everything in his power to protect this wife.

Awesome story, loved all the characters, and maybe Vincent and Ronnie could get their own stories???

Bland Mafia Romance

Natalie was the perfect Mary Sue fitting all Sam Crescent tropes. She's a virgin, because of course, she's young, not a teenager thank goodness, she just loves homemaking and cooking. She's not like the other vipers caring about makeup and gossip 🙄. Daniel is the Mafia Prince, not even a dark prince. He's patience, well-mannered, so enamored by Natalie he is willing to throw it all away on the hope his bluff is called. The beginning was kind of steamy but by the 3rd chapter it fizzled to cute sweetness. Daniel was allowed to sow his wild oats until 30 and of course he is required to marry now. He took one look at his intended and balked. She was shallow, a flirt sleeping with her guard, and vacuous. Of course she's a "slut" and Daniel doesn't want her. Their story was just so by the books fluff and sweet. The conflict was just not realistic and the way it was resolved was so horrible. At the end Nat and Daniel got their happily ever after.

Loved it!

What a cute story. Strange to say that about a mafia story, but this one wasn’t necessarily your typical mafia story.

Sure, there was an arranged marriage, but Daniel fell for Natalie while about to be engaged to her sister. He saw first hand what his future would look like if he married her sister and decided he wanted something better. Natalie wasn’t about mafia life..she was able to live on the outskirts for a few years, but in order to bring the peace for both families, she needed to come back into the fold. Thankfully, Daniel isn’t an a particularly awful mafia guy and slowly she sees that being married to him might not be the worst thing she’ll do in life. Now, if she can survive her family and the hit someone put out on her, we may get a HEA after all.
Loved the story..and the killing at the dinner table was too funny (sorry, but I chuckled).
This is definitely another good from our friend Sam.

One of the things I really like about this book is that Daniel knew he wanted something better for his life, and once he realized Natalie was it he was all in. He didn't try to push her away or keep her at arms length to "protect" her. It was definitely a case of instalust for him and he couldn't let her go. He knew Natalie needed to be his, and he showed her with his actions and his words that he would respect her and take care of her (aside from the whole forcing her hand in marriage thing...). Natalie wasn't a shrew and she didn't act out to make his life hell for pulling her back into the mafia life she was trying to escape. She very much accepted her fate, and she pretty quickly came to trust that Daniel is a trustworthy guy. Natalie was definitely a little naive and sheltered in some ways, but she wasn't stupid. I liked her.

His to Take.

A new one from Sam Crescent. A mafia book.

I really liked this one. Am sure going to do a re read of it. Daniel is the son of a head of Solamo family and he has to marry to keep the peace between his own family and the Valenti. He was suppostu marry the oldest daughter but yeah she was an airhead in a way totally go with his choise of not wanting that. I loved Natalie she was a fresh kind of take on a mafiosas daughter. Tho in the story u get to see why that is and it is very understandable. I liked a lot about this story . The way he was with her in every sene he wanted something different then was the norm in the mafia family marrages. They made a very cute couple. I so hope we get more from this world I really liked it. fingers crossed.
