Another excellent Cadw guidebook! And my heart starts thumping with this one as I have ancestors who arose in the area of Monmouthshire and their ancient ones could have known this town! (My Y-DNA leads back to the Uí Néill of the north of Ireland via Brycheiniog so apparently not Roman but maybe on a maternal line branching off?) It is amazing that there is no known written Roman source for Caerwent. The Silurian Civitas is established by some of the inscriptions that have been found along with a rather obvious basilica foundation. I've been to the amazing ruins at Caerwent. Now, I need to see this!

Caerwent Roman Town gives a clear and precise illustration of the site! :D At the same time it shows where to go in detail! :D It also list of in great detail the past of the site as well as giving clear illustrations of the events, phasing that took place at the site! :D Caerwent Roman Town is clearly illustrated as well as matching the illustration with great plans! :D

The Guidebook also includes a guide to the site including a tour that you can undertake! :D This make for a great all roundness that gives you clear looks as to what is going on at the site! :D Brilliant Crisp High Five! :D Highly Recommend Go and Get! :D

Standard Cadw guide. First half history of site. Second half tour. Some nice pictures of what the site probably looked like.
