What you sow you reap

That is what those nosy gossiping biddy minions of Stephanie found out. The bigger they are, the harder they fall, Randall, Tammy's hood rat, pedophile, and abusive baby daddy found that out too. Poor Tammy was the pariah in her small town for being a single mother at the age of eighteen. When she was in high school, she, along with every other girl, had a crush on their Spanish teacher, Victor Del Toro. She never imagined running into him again when her thirteen year old son was having trouble in his Spanish class. He remembered her and things just clicked with them.

Victor could not help his being attracted to Tammy. She was everything he wanted in a woman and had this overwhelming need to protect her and protect her he did.

The author wrote an enjoyable story, but the plot needed to be edited. There was a discrepancy in Tammy's name. Victor knew her as Tammy Steele but she took her mother's Powers maiden name after her parents kicked her out. Her mother is referred to as Nicole Powers and not Steele, later in the book. The author never really revealed the age difference between Tammy and Victor. If my calculations are right, if Victor started teaching at the age of 23, when Tammy was a freshman in high school, she would be at least 14 yrs old. That's a 9 year difference which I personally don't find that big of a deal. If it were fifteen years or greater then I would see it as a problem.

I did not feel there was much of a chemistry between Tammy and Victor. I felt that he was overbearing and totally un-romantic in their first sensual encounter. I did not feel their chemistry until the end of the book.

To top off this interesting story, I HATE CLIFFHANGERS!!!! With that said, the story solved enough problems in the plot to leave me satisfied. I can't wait to read about the real Victor Del Toro Ortega.

This book made me itch. I was a little confused as to why Tammy would be considered an outcast for getting pregnant at 18 when in this day and age, we have TV shows lauding teen moms. I just don't think this is a taboo subject anymore, even in small town USA.

I was also confused as to why Randall was never arrested for actively seeking out a young teen girl and getting her pregnant. He was clearly way older than her and they were having sex long before she turned 18. All of the guilt, blame and shame landed on Tammy's head. He never faced any consequences.

She chose to live in this small town where she was ridiculed and ostracized for being a single mom, but she could have gone anywhere she wanted. She had her inheritance and did not even have any ambition to work. She could have moved to a place where no one knew her and started a good life for her and her son. It wasn't like Randall was a part of their lives. It just made no sense to stay in a place where she was unhappy and unwanted.

I almost stopped reading the book at the first sexual encounter between Tammy and Victor. He came off as a douche. If he had said the stuff he said to me, he would have caught a knee to the groin. It almost felt like he was going to rape her until her dumb but said "okay". I was too through.

I didn't like their relationship. They didn't seem to be in love. It felt more like a situationship than a monogamous relationship. When he refused to answer her question about the number of partners he had, I wanted to scream! She had every right to know especially because he did not want to use protection. Nope, not today!

This book frustrated me.

Too unrealistic!!

A small town ostracizing a teenage unwed mother...said unwed mother is the victim of a pedophile...rich family disown her instead of supporting her...unwed mother inherits a sizable fortune from father, but continues to live in small town victimized by ongoing gossip of her past...becomes involved with a former teacher from her private school...he's too alpha...too
controlling...and unbeknownst to her, hiding too many secrets...structurally the story had too many grammatical errors...names are mixed up...story line has no basis in reality in this century or even the latter part of the 20th century...very disappointed...SPOILER ALERT: THIS IS A CLIFFHANGER ...I have no interest in reading the rest of this unbelievable story...

Someone needs an editor

Yikes! I have no good explanation as to how or why I finished this book.

Besides the usual grammatical errors, this author actually mixed up her characters so much that I had to turn back yo try and make sense of what she was trying to say.

Also, she kept referencing the huge age difference between the two main characters, but early on she mentioned that he was 23 years old when she was 16. Not a big enough difference to justify a “scandal”, really.

Anyway, the story was boring and ridiculous. I couldn’t feel anything for either of the main characters, and I wouldn’t recommend this book at all.

An okay read

This was okay to me. The whole PTA drama and Randall fiasco was too much. Lots of back stabbing and dirty play. Victor and Tammy are adults now and all the taboo makes little sense. Not sure if I will read the sequel since there was plenty of drama already. A love built on lies is not a very attractive way to have a relationship.
The whole issue with black mail was a bit much, but small town USA seems up for all of the drama. The ending though intriguing leaves me meh. Secrets always come out.

Victor and Tammy

This was so good. Readers got several things at once: interracial romance, age gap, kinky sex with a hint of soft. I liked that Victor knew what he wanted in a woman and that she didn’t feel guilty about her feelings for him. When I first got started reading this author’s work I was thinking the passion between the characters was a bit of a letdown. But I’m changing my mind now. Good story 👍🏾

Tammy came from a wealthy family that had high expectations for her so when she became pregnant at sixteen, they kicked her to the curb without a penny. Alone with her child Randall the father was only after the money and when that didn't materialize, he left. Now through an inheritance she is well off and able to send her son to the private school she attended. She reconnects with an old teacher that leads her on an incredible journey to redemption and second chance romance.

I almost DNF this one.

All of Tammy's decisions made no sense and made me itch.

With all that inheritance, she could have made life much easier by simply moving away from a backwards town that treated them very poorly.

Tammy and Victor's relationship was just not believable. The "silver fox" is barely older than Tammy.

This story is about two people in their 30s in a situationship.

I actually listened to this on audible and the narrator was terrible to say the least. The main character Tammy was extremely soft and a little needy. The storyline left much to be desired and the ending felt rushed. There was never any high stakes. Overall it was just an okay read, wouldn't necessarily recommend it. You aren't missing anything.

Good Read

This was a good read. I like how Tammy was a great single mom. Many women relate to her and her worries. She's strong as well. I loved her relationship with Victor. And the ending had me wanting more.

Cliffhanger

Can I express how much I despise cliffhangers? The book was choppy the emphasis on his age continuously shows itself after they’ve slept together who really cares the grudge from high school come on she got pregnant at a young age from a drunk please move forward
