Temple creates vivid descriptions of a train that embarks on a remarkable journey. The repetition of stanzas and descriptive words make it a fantastic, easy-to-read book. The colorful, brilliant illustrations add to the text. This is great to use with younger elementary children, especially as a read aloud so that children can practice hearing the familiar rhymthms.

A poem about a train ride. Nice repetition and rhythm. The illustrations are interesting, but lacking the detail that I like. Kiddo asked for it several times.
