Destiny Collides Past and Present

Rate this book
On the worst day of Stuart Wilson’s life he has a chance encounter with a stranger on a street corner. He finds himself inexplicably drawn from the second their eyes connected. Over the following decade he has never forgotten the brief encounter, or the eyes that have haunted his dreams.
Finding his life has stalled, though successful and financially independent, Stuart feels his life is sadly lacking that one thing everyone wants, love. Making a decision to change, Stuart uproots himself from his life. On the recommendation of a friend he moves to a small island in the Irish Sea, where Stuart’s life takes several unexpected turns and twists when he offers to help his new boss.

Joe King has it all, or so it appeared, until he made a wrong choice which has left him reeling both emotionally and physically. Devastated by the turn of events he seeks refuge with his friend hoping to find some peace and quiet to lick his wounds. What he finds is an unexpected connection to his past that he struggles to accept. The present situation is hindered by a past he wants to escape that will not let go.

Will they find the true happiness Stuart believes can be theirs? Or will the threat from Joe’s past take away what Joe is only starting to realise could be his future, Stuart.

Guardian cats walk this earth, there to protect—if you are fortunate enough to be blessed by the fates. Princess is one such cat. Having found herself in trouble for breaking the rules, Princess believes that being paired with Stuart Wilson as his guardian is her penance. Unbeknown to her that is not the case.
Things turn ugly when Princess steps in to protect Stuart putting her own life at risk causing her new arch enemy Maximillian, an ancient guardian cat to make a decision that has far reaching consequences for them both. Will she accept or fight the changes, only time will tell.

Where does one start with about what I do?
I’m a writer, but I’m sure you guessed that by now if you’re reading this, hey? What you might not know is I’m a little quirky, live in my pj’s most of the time and have cake Saturdays with my sisters every week. I dedicate a little of my time to taking care of my grandbabies and on the dedicated writing days I like to write an eclectic mix of romance, suspense and paranormal fantasy. In the main I’ve written gay romance but I’m branching out under another the pen name in the future, so watch this space.
I’ve a passion for books like you would not believe and it led me down this path and now I’ve over 29 books released and heading towards releasing a whole lot more. The way my head is I never know where I’ll be headed next. I hope you’ll find a little joy in my words and follow me to see where the journey takes me and you.
If you’re interested at some point in 2021 I’ll be writing under the name JP Paton which will be F/M crime and Fantasy two of my favourite things. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled 

Mix two interesting men, a guardian cat and lots of action and you have this really awesome story. I must say that i really loved this story!! The writing had a great flow and the story-line kept me reading until i had devoured the entire book.

Stuart and Joe touch each other mentally and physically in all the right places and are such a good match. Both MC's are men who have experienced hurt and loss and have done what it takes to survive. Both of these men understand the risk of loving someone and they offer their hearts with such care.

This is book 2 of the Manx Cat Guardians series and it can be read as a stand-alone. This book is so good that i have already purchased book 1, Seeing Beyond the Scars, because i want the back story to Brad and Martin who are friends to our MC's in this story.

Highly recommend!

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy if this book.

This is book two in the Manx Cat Guardians series, and I would recommend that you read book one, Seeing Beyond the Scars, first. Brad and Martin play a huge part here, there is some overlap of the two stories and you need to know what Brad suffered.

I enjoyed this far FAR more than book one. The major issue I had with that book was it had not been edited properly and it had a massive impact on my reading experience. I saw no sign of that problem here, and it made for a much more pleasurable read.

Stuart is a work colleague of Martin (although I'm still not entirely sure what ANY of the guys do for work!) and he moves to the island to help Martin while Brad is in hospital. Cat sitting wasn't his best decision. Joe is hiding from his abusive ex, and lodging at Stuart's seemed like a good idea. Falling in love wasn't something either of them had in mind.

I'm still not sure about the cat, Princess! I said in my review for book one that I wanted more of the history of her "people" and I STILL want that, I NEED it, I think, to get the full picture. That Max turns up with Aadan, gives a little bit, but no where near enough for me! I'm just greedy, I know!

I do think again, that Joe would have been a bit more skittish, jumping into something so soon after he managed to get away, but he does push Stuart away when Stuart says something that Joe hated.

I loved Aadan, and the fact that he pushed Joe and Stuart into something they maybe hadn't thought about, but ran with it anyway.

I see book three laid out for me, and I REALLY ant to read that now! Max has upset Aadan, when he saves Princess and Aadan has some paranormal power that isn't fully explained here, it's just hinted at. Something has happened between Aadan and Greg, Stuart's secretary, and I really NEED to know what!

Since this was a much MUCH better read, and I saw no editing errors that plagued book one....

Destiny Collides Past and Present is the third book in the Manx Guardian series by JP Sayle. This book focuses on Stuart Wilson and Joe King. These two characters were first introduced in the previous book Seeing Beyond the Scars. It is not necessary to read the previous book to enjoy this story, but it would enhance your experience because you will have a bit more of a background about these two characters. I enjoyed reading this book, and this book is my favorite book in this series so far. I liked the storyline, and I following Stuart and Joe’s journey was touching. Both Stuart and Joe have a lot of things to overcome and work through, and both deserve a happy ending with each other. Another thing I liked about this story is the emphasis of communication and trust, between the two main characters and a few of the other characters. I thought the overall story was great, and sometimes I had a hard time putting the book down because I was so involved with the story. I feel that I was more invested with this story from the beginning, and it was also a fast read for me. In Destiny Collides Past and Present there was a lot of action, danger, love, forgiveness, and a few questions got answered that I had in the previous book. Also, Princess continues to be one of my favorite characters. She is funny and I am looking forward to what she does next. Also, because of how the story ended, I now need to read the next book to know what happens next. I cannot wait to read Aaden's story.
I recommend this story! I know that I plan on reading the next book because I need to know what happens next in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

I've been curious about this series for a while, and I finally got the chance to catch up with a couple of its books. First, I'll say that while this book could technically be read as a standalone—Ms. Sayle gives enough background info that you could actually get away with it—I think the experience might be better if you read the books in order, though.

I liked Joe and I felt bad for all he went through with his ex, Joel (although frankly, the whole Joe/Joel thing was a bit confusing at times). I was glad he had Aaden and later Martin, Brad and Stuart to help him out. Now, Stuart, well, it took me a long time to warm up to him. The whole thing with Greg in the first half of the book left me with a bad taste in my mouth, one would think Stuart would have been more mature than to act like that with an employee, even if he didn't really want to harass him. Stuart got better... eventually. What I can't deny is the amazing chemistry between Joe and Stuart. They were very hot together and I really liked the whole idea of fated soulmates in this 'verse.

The writing was good, if a bit overly detailed, and it flowed well. The story was intriguing and I liked the fantasy elements that the author wove into the plot. The story was engaging and I'm looking forward to reading more in this series.

Destiny Collides Past and Present by JP Sayle is the third book in The Manx Cat Guardians series. This is the story of Stuart and Joe. We get the appearances of previous characters as well. Oh, and Princess!

The book is a well written and highly entertaining read. Filled with hot and sexy scenes, sweet and loving moments, humor, and suspense, this book caught my attention and kept it actively engaged throughout. It's a great addition to the series and makes me anxious for the next book.

I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.

I received this book by the author and this is my honest opinion.
Loved it, this was another good read and follows Stuart and joel, once met like ships passing in the night and yet each have never forgotten that certain spark they felt. Fast forward the years and they meet again. The characters were great and had there own emotional angst and past to wade through. We also got reappearances of previous characters which was nice. Effortlessly flowed with in depth characterisation, hot scenes, and humour. A good magical read

Sometimes it takes very special friends to help when you find your love life has taken a horrible turn down a path that could kill you. When Joe asked Aaden for help ridding him the presence of his ex Joel in his life and Martin offers him a place to recuperate after everything, Joe jumps at the offer and then he meets Stuart. Together they begin a journey of recovery, love, and a relationship that they both have always wanted but to find this they have to survive the past. This series just keep getting better and better, JP Sayle's books are winners!

Ah, Stuart, Joe, and Princess! Their story was heartbreaking, poignant, powerful, raw, gritty, grab-you-by-the-feels, intense, action packed, totally awesome, gripping, engrossing, slow burning, and hilarious. Filled with tears, jeers, fears, cheers, suspense, mystery, and magic, it kept me hooked from beginning to end. I can't wait to get my greedy hands on the next book in this intriguing series.

I'm at 22% and have decided to come back to this book at a later date.
The start is dragging on with too much word fillers which is not holding my attention.

Destiny Collides Past and Present is the 3rd book in the Manx Cat Guardians series by JP Sayle. It's creative and interesting with two wonderful main characters.

I absolutely adore Stuart and Joe. Both men have intriguing backgrounds, and it's great seeing how well they come together. Joe's part is front and foremost, as his ex was abusive, leaving him scared and unable to commit, as well as fearful that his ex will find him.

The road for these two is not an easy one, but it's totally worth it. They're both survivors who desperately need someone to love and care for them.

Of course there's Princess, and oh man, I love Princess. She's the guardian cat who's watching out for Stuart, and she's a sassy and fun girl.

With undeniable chemistry, there's some amazing sex scenes. The author really knows how to steam up the pages.

My only complaint is the writing style. JP Sayle is a fantastic writer, with spectacular ideas. However, this writing style isn't my favorite. Full of extreme detail, I prefer less description and a faster pace. But, I know many do love this writing style. That is just my issue.

That said, I still really enjoy Destiny Collides Past and Present, for it's outstanding characters, as well as plenty of humor, and a refreshing storyline. There's action, suspense, sex, and romance. It's a slow burn romance entwined with an emotional ride.
