Sam Taplin grew up in a beautiful valley in Yorkshire, where he dreamed of being a writer, and after three years reading other people's books at university he started writing his own. He's been doing it ever since. When he's not writing about lonely rabbits or inquisitive bears, he likes doing card tricks, writing songs and playing long games of chess by the fire.

My son was gifted this book at 10 months old and looks at it every day (now 12 months). He LOVEs it!! He imitates all the sounds while we read it and when he’s out in nature. As a past environmental educator, I really appreciate the realistic nature sounds this book plays. It truly helps children learn how to listen to the natural world around them.

The only book series where I appreciate the noises. Lovely art, peek through windows, they put good effort into ALL the elements of this book, not relying on the gimmick alone to sell it. The ability to switch off the book is also such a plus.

This is a cute, sweet, simple book with sounds of woodland animals. I got it as a gift for my grandbabies, and especially my granddaughter loved it. Hope really liked it, also, so I also gifted her with one later and she's been enjoying it. It's been fun to share with them. The Usborne sound books are a bit pricey, but some are really neat, and are just the sort of thing book lovers can easily spend too much on, ha. We also have The Four Seasons, which plays Vivaldi, which I love.
