Excellent beginner book! I thoroughly enjoyed reading about watercolor. This book really opened up the vast possibilities in this artform! I had seriously underestimated watercolor. I initially purchased the book because had just got a super neat set of brush lettering brushes and paint- which this has helped me get started in. However and more importantly, before this I did not even know what a 'wash' was. It was in the book and I was able to use the guidance to do several different types on my own the first day in. Wow! I am now trying out other techniques and have yet to even get to the lettering which is later in the book. That's not true I have actually gone through the whole book but I haven't started 'seriously' studying that part of the book yet... I am having so much fun in the first half!

This is a book that you can use for a long time and go back and read again and again; plus i will use it for referencing the many different techniques I' ve discovered. I recommend this book to any beginner in the artform of watercoloring.
