"We are all made of mud, yet we all have moments where we transcend the everyday.” —Apollonia Saintclair

The first in a series of art books showcasing Saintclair's work, this publication includes more than 130 full-page drawings produced between 2012 and 2014.

"[Saintclair] reminds us that the most weird and wonderful corners of our imagination are often the darkest [and] the most mysterious . . . The exquisite worlds she invites us into in each piece are as varied as each of our own inner desires and fantasies." —Erika Lust, in her introduction to Ink Is My Blood: Vol. 1

The drawings of Apollonia Saintclair appeared from nowhere on the Web in 2012.

A self-taught illustrator with a tortuous past, Apollonia draws for her pleasure and that of her audience. She also works for various publishing houses, including the renown French erotic publisher La Musardine. Her imagination is fueled by pop culture as well as academic canons, and her graphic influences range from Leonardo da Vinci to Moebius and Milo Manara.

A longtime resident of the Old Continent, Apollonia divides her time between the kitchen and her workshop.

A collection of beautifully grotesque and sensually-charged illustrations inspired by the writings of H.P. Lovecraft, Anaïs Nin, and Henry Miller. Stirring.

This book contains sexuality without pandering, and eroticism that communicates ideas. Weird, sometimes disturbing ideas - but the kind that are compelling beyond their presentation through nude bodies. In other words, it's art, and it's as lovely as it is freaky.

I found the drawings quite boring. A nice past time while waiting at the dentist's or to talk to your personal banker. Kidding, with so many busybodies walking the Earth, just think of the children! The texts are even more dull.

Apollonia Saintclair instantly became one of my favorite artists to follow. The imagination and pure talent is something to behold. Amazing erotic and dark illustrations.
