These cats have destroyed curtains, scratched couches, bitten hands, shredded toilet paper… and they are not sorry . Now they decided to celebrate their achievements in these insightful and funny poems written by themselves. With titles like “It’s 6 a.m., time to wake up”, “I hate the vet”, “Oops, I did it again”, “Let me in”, and “Red dot, red dot”, this collection of laugh-out-loud poems offers a cat's view on common wacky and exasperating feline behavior. It’s the perfect gift for crazy cat lovers who appreciate hilarious insights into the feline nature.
Rosa Silva writes stories about identity, belonging, and the search for self-acceptance. Her books explore themes such as anxiety, self-esteem, social media, and authenticity, often blending humor, heart, and emotional insight.
She is the author of the novels Anxious Girl and Queen of the Algorithm, the children's book The Black Cat Who Only Wanted to Be Loved, and a popular cat poetry series for cat lovers.
Born and raised in Portugal, Rosa writes for readers who have ever felt caught between who they are and who they think they should be.
She has done it again! Completely capturing the funny and feisty (and often loving) sides of cats. Oh, but oops! This is a book of "Poems By Cats"...so, of course, they would be accurately portrayed. Seriously though, the poems in this book are cats to a T.
I love this clever little book of poems. Another added delight is each section is headed by a particular cat accompanied by gorgeous cat images. For example: Petey O'Malley...The most shameless cat in the world.
If you're looking for a fun, light read that completely encompasses the attitudes and antics of cats, then this one is definitely for you.
(I received this book free of charge from the author or publisher.)
This is the second book by Rosa Silva and she doesn't disappoint. I'm Not Sorry: Poems by Cats is definitely written as a cat would write. As any cat lover knows, they are never sorry and we never get mad at them either. My only complaint is that the book is too short- I wanted more of these funny poems. This would be a great gift for any adult cat lover. I say adult because some of the kitties used bad words :)
As an owner (currently of 2) cats I can see my lads in the many amusing poems in this book. I have had many cats over the years on my own and when living at home. They all amuse us with their querky behaviour and never fail to make us laugh. But something else we cat lovers know, is that our furry felines will always let us know when they love us. Each in their own endearing ways.. 😊 That even a stranger cat in another country just seems to know we love them and give us a welcoming rub. A home is not a home unless it has a feline or two in it. Now I must finishes my cat tales, stories of my much loved cats over the years. Thank you Rosa Silva for a fun read.
I gave this book a star because the pictures are cute. As a writer, I don't like giving bad reviews because I don't think people should be discouraged from writing. However, perhaps some writing should be done for fun and kept for the writer alone.
As a cat mom, I love everything cat related. A lot of these described cat life, but also some did not. My boy is pretty well behaved. Ready to read more cat poems (I also realize I'm reading these books out of order. Oops)
As a cat owner this book brought me much joy and giggles. Some of my favorites were Snickerdoodle’s haikus and Miss Purrsnickitty's: The Red Dots and the Tiny Box, but honestly all the poems were cute and hilarious!
