This is a heartwarming tale of what happens when people misunderstand each other out of fear and then, due to "an event," come to a better understanding that eventually leads to friendship. The characters are very real. My girls liked the description of how Captain Snap would pull his lip out so far that when he let go it would make a snapping sound. I like the caring of the children even though the are afraid they decided "it must be done" and in the end they are rewarded.
