The book reflects the study of the nationalist movement in India by veteran freedom fighter and our foremost leader Lala Lajpat Rai. It covers India from 1757 to 1857 A.D. and then from the mutiny of 1857 to 1905 A.D. It was revised further by the author to the happenings up to the year 1915. It gives a detailed account of the socio-economic condition and the spread of awakening for freedom among the masses. It decimates the arguments of British colonialism of having a welfare state in India. It is an important tool for the study of Indian independence. A great read for the current generation by one of the tallest freedom fighters of India.
Lala Lajpat Rai was an Indian freedom fighter. He played a pivotal role in the Indian Independence movement. He was popularly known as Punjab Kesari. He was one of the threeLal Bal Pal triumvirate. He was also associated with activities of Punjab National Bank and Lakshmi Insurance Company in their early stages in 1894
A book that could be read several times. The relegation regarding Congress is to thr point , classification of nationalists was also to the point. The speech was of Mazhar ul haq was beautiful but the chapters on Aurangzeb and ashoka were weak and more detailing was required . The book is a powerhouse of patriotism and nationalism .
no doubt it was an excellent effort by one of the greatest indian revolutionary to introduce the indian masses to original bhartiya literature. however he did not elaborate it much .
This book is excellent material to understand the struggle in various directions by difference people. Honorable Lala Lajpatrai explains well that all effort was by different methodology but even though it is coherent with each other and having same goal and motive. He explain formation of congress and explain the root cause of the failure of congress in the beginning and also presented logical reasons to become successful after few year of hard work by many countrymen. This everything Author explained well with time line (Year of incidents) and surrounding conditions at that time. Very good literature for the youth, whom ever eager to know about Indian history and struggle of independence.
