Elizabeth is understandably a bit worried about submitting to her new husband's desires. Little does she know that Mr. Darcy desires only to submit to hers.A Pride and Prejudice intimate variation/sequel. First in a series of short stories about the Darcys' marriage bed.The first short story of three in a new, intimate Pride and Prejudice variation series by Grace Reeve.
Grace Reeve writes swoon-worthy stories inspired by the wit, passion, and unforgettable characters of Jane Austen. With a particular fondness for Mr. Darcy, clever heroines, and slow-burning tension, her novels blend Regency elegance with heart-fluttering romance. When she’s not dreaming up new ways for Elizabeth Bennet to scandalize society, Grace can be found curled up with a cup of tea, a cravat-clad hero, and far too many notebooks.
She lives for grand declarations, stolen glances, and happily ever afters—with just enough mischief along the way.
This ends at 94% and is a detailed account of the wedding night so I won't add anything to that. We do have a few pages in which Mrs. Bennet and Jane give Elizabeth words as to what to expect and as her maid, Diana, dresses her for the ceremony.
Well-done steamy imagining of Elizabeth Bennet in the days leading up to her wedding to Mr. Darcy. She feels quite wanton when Darcy kisses her and is concerned about her ignorance regarding the marriage bed. She has to endure her mother's woman-to-woman talk. Fortunately, her sister Jane (who is already married to Mr. Bingley) offers a better perspective.
It's short, but it does offer a complete story even though it's the first in a four-part series. Definitely MA.
This is a short read of 52 pages in a variation that sees Lizzy and Darcy having their wedding separate to Bingley and Jane and spending their wedding night at Longbourn.
It's quite a sweet tale really - intimate variations I can cope with but prefer the intimacy scenes when part of a wider story... this is probably half thinking about sex, half having it!
My Library Notes: An Ardent Affection: Part 1 of a Pride & Prejudice Intimate Variation by Grace Reeve Kindle Edition, First Edition, 52 pages Published March 25, 2018 ASIN: B07BQHWSWN
This story is a short mature novella about Elizabeth and Darcy on their wedding night. They have an obvious chemistry and slowly learn how they fit together - physically and emotionally.
While definately erotic, it was beautifully written with warmth and affection. It should be required reading for all engaged couples just before their wedding night, be they innocent or not. Especially by the groom.
My only regret is that it was much too short, even for a "short " story. I'm looking forward to reading more of Ms. Reeves work.
This is book one in a series. It begins with Lizzy getting dress for her wedding thinking of her wedding night. There is the unhelpful advice from Mrs Bennett - to lye back and think of dresses. It ends with the wedding night passions
Darcy and Elizabeth on their wedding night. Very sweet and sexy. However, the thought of them spending their wedding night at Longbourn, with the rest of the family in residence, was weird. I can't imagine Darcy agreeing to that!!
A short read focussed on the feelings of Darcy and Elizabeth both immediately before and after their wedding. The content is mature and explicit but it is very well written. I recommend this to those readers who don’t object to this content.
