Thank you, Jack Knox, for writing this lovely book. I laughed, I cried, I re-read stories over and over again. Every time I picked this book up I felt like I was picking up a piece of home.
When I go to a place and it resonates with me, I like to visit local bookstores to find titles of local interest. I picked up a few books on a recent trip to Vancouver Island, and this one was a delight. Jack Knox is best known as a humorist, but these portraits of interesting locals aren’t comical (although there are some light moments). I highly recommend this one, even if you don’t know a thing about the place.
Such an interesting read. I loved learning about the fascinating lives of fellow islanders, especially when written so well. I highly recommend this book to anyone who lives on Vancouver Island.
