A Chinese boy hurries home from school to his family's houseboat in Hong Kong harbor. It is the end of the school year, and he is anxious to join his father and grandfather in their family profession, fishing.
Maybe I just wasn't in the mood, but - meh. The artwork is probably better in printed form (reading for free on OpenLibrary), and some of the scenes capture Hong Kong, but others could really be anywhere, I suppose. The story is very slight. Son wants to follow in his father's and father's father's footsteps (fisherman), but mother wants him to be a schoolteacher. The kid clearly hates school. The kid clearly loves the sea and dreams to carry on a family tradition. I mean... that's it.
