Abandoned Love: Love Sick Series Book 2 by Sydney Aaliyah Michelle. This is the second book in the Love Sick Series.
Briann has a bit of a reputation, not one that a person should be proud of either. Cody is all about getting an NFL contract. That is all he has ever wanted and he usually gets what he wants. With having Briann as his trainer could be a good and a bad thing for him. Will Cody and Briann put their lives before love or will they both get exactly what the want in the end?
I really enjoyed this book, as I have with previous books by this author. I can not wait for more.

This was the first book I have read by this author and I loved it ~ so much so that I had to pick up Anxious Love because I have to read Ryan and Leah's story too!
I enjoy a book that flows well, has a unique story line, some sexiness with a little angst thrown in - Abandoned Love did just that. The characters were perfectly flawed, yet relatable.

Having grown up with ties to the professional football scene, Briann has always surrounded herself with athletes. She longs to be accepted and loved for who she really is, but, so far, this hasn't worked out for her. Until Cody. Yes, he is a jock, but he genuinely cares for Briann. What will happen when he learns about her not so stellar reputation? Will he continue to try and build a relationship with her, or will he walk away for good?
Overall, this was a pretty good read. The story was heartwarming, and I thought Cody was great! If you are a fan of the sports romance genre, you are sure to enjoy this book!

Briann has a nasty reputation and is making a name for herself as someone who only wants to be with a pro football player. Only she is not "wife material". She grows a lot over the course of the story--and believe me, she needed to! Cody is trying to make it onto an NFL team, against the odds because he is short to be pro. He is constantly there for Briann. Her behavior is very sad at times. We definitely feel for Cody. He is awesome. Great read.

I read an ARC copy of this.
I enjoyed this story. It was hard at times to like Briann. I get why she is the way that she is. Most people would be like her. However, it made it difficult to like her. I liked Cody and was glad that Briann got with him. She has terrible taste in men. She finally got a real man who could treat her right.

Briann has always surrounded herself with men that play football and when she meets Cody he falls into the same role. But this time the jock is not just out for a piece of her but actually has real feelings for her. But will her reputation prevail and Cody not bother to put in the time? Or will she finally find someone who loves her for what is on the inside? With beautifully written characters and a heartwarming storyline this book is a must read.

Abandoned Love is the second book in the Love Sick series. I really don’t know what to say about this book, yes, I kinda liked it and kinda didn’t. Always find a review hard when I am conflicted when reading a book as I always like to try and give a helpful review as, as we all know authors out a lot of work in to each book they bring out. I just couldn’t take to Bri at all there was something sleazy about her, and I did try to Bri. Cody was great, but I wanted so much better for him than Bri. Moving on from negativity about this book, it was well written, and it does have a good storyline, but it just wasn’t a book for me. Just because I didn’t like it, it doesn’t mean that you won’t. So please give it a go and you may find the missing link that I couldn’t find to 100% enjoy the book.

“Don’t get me wrong. I’m going to keep you, but I still don’t deserve you.”
This was my first experience reading Sidney Aaliyah Michelle’s writing. I have to say I was impressed with her canny ability to make me really dislike a character yet still need to read more of her because I was also hooked on said character. This is book two in the Love Sick Series but can be read as a standalone like I did. It was not confusing at all nor perinate to read book one to enjoy this one.
Briann is known for her reputation among men, and it isn’t a very good one. She hates to admit that most of the rumors about her are true, but what she does know is she has a plan for her future and nothing is going to get in the way of her plan. You want to dislike Briann but the more you read about her you realize that she is who she is because of a lot that has happened to her. She just doesn’t really know how to cope with everything and finds solace in all the wrong places. I found that as she grew throughout the book, my heart grew fond of her as well. I wanted to know more about her and watch her continue to grow long after the end of the book.
Cody is set on getting a NFL contract. He will not let anything stand in his way of that elusive title. His need for a great coach is what brings Briann into his life. Regardless of what her reputation may be Cody seems to see right through it. Cody just has a heart of gold when it comes to Briann. You have to fall for this alpha male who has so much to give and is a hot sexy ball player. I enjoyed his character and felt he offset Briann very nicely. I was rooting for him all along.
Will the determination that these two have for their future goals survive life’s twist of love? Can they both get what they want and be in love, or will they deny themselves happiness together for their own ultimate goals?

Abandoned Love: A BWWM Sports Romance (Love Sick Series Book 2) by Sydney Aaliyah Michelle is the second book in her Love Sick series. This is not my first book by this author, I have enjoyed every book that I pick up by this author. Her writing skills are such that she is able to pull me right into the story with ease and keep me engaged. She takes me on an emotional journey of various emotions that I just want more of. This book is no different. Her characters are both lovable and true to life. I can see myself being friends with them. In this story we have Cody who is trying to get a NFL contract. Then you have Briann who has a bad reputation but she has a plan for her future. Cody needs a trainer this is where he meets Briann. She is a distraction for him, will he drop the ball and lose it all? She is focused on her future, will she give up her plans for love? They both have dreams but are they willing to give them up for a chance at a happy ever after? I enjoyed both of these characters. They are strong and both are a little feisty. I did find myself hoping that these two would find their HEA. They have such a great chemistry together. They both are determined. They both have been hurt in the past that I felt compassion for them. You will just have to read this book to find out what happens with them. The secondary characters are just as enjoyable. They help bring the story alive and add meaning to it. I highly recommend this book. Find out if a football player and a trainer are able to find happy ever after.

Briann Hobbs is a personal trainer with a goal for how she wants to live her life. She spends a lot of time around professional athletes due to her job and has gained a certain reputation. Some rumors bring true, some not. Then she meets Cody Travis and while training him so he can reach his goal, they get closer. Eventually, she realizes how he feels about her even though she doesn’t understand it because she’s sure she doesn’t deserve it.
Cody Travis has been overlooked his whole life, but that will not stop him from going after want he wants, his NFL contract. After meeting Bri, he realizes the contract isn’t all he wants, but getting Bri’s heart will take just as much effort. Will he be able to convince her she deserves his affections? Will he be enough for her if he doesn’t make the cut?
At first, I have to say I didn’t really like Briann. Maybe it’s who she portrayed when she was with DeAndre or maybe it was my preconception of her similar to hers of Leah. By the end of the book, I could tell she had changed and that maybe the way she was did in fact have a lot to do with the absence of her father and the love she so badly wanted to feel. She only knew one time of stability and security and Cody showed her that you can be stable and secure without all the money in the world.
I would recommend this book!

Abandoned Love by Sydney Aaliyah Michelle is absolutely a must read! It was phenomenal the whole way through. This is the second book in Sydney’s Love Sick series, since it’s the first book of the series I read I can honestly say it can be read as a standalone, everything is perfectly detailed which made it so easy to jump right into. This happily ever after sports romance has been added to my list of favourites, the storyline flowed so well, and the character development was amazing, plus the emotional storyline really tugged at my heartstrings.
I found myself emotional from the very first chapter as these characters seemed so real and the detail made it easy to relate and connect with them. I wasn’t sure how I felt about Briann in the beginning but as I continued to read her story I couldn’t help but feel as if she was one of my lifelong friends. She’s complicated, misunderstood and slightly broken, her past has greatly influenced her life and not necessarily in a positive way but thankfully Cody could see right through her. Cody was one of those characters that you just can’t help but love! I was also super intrigued by Ryan and Leah, two supporting characters, and I look forward to reading their story!
I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for their next romance read!

When he is this close to achieving his dreams he knows that he cannot lose this focus. But when his new trainer turns out to be the gorgeous Briann Cosy can feel that focus slipping.
Briann is used to the rumours that float around about her. So what if people say things? And so what if some of it might be true. With her sights set on one goal, the NFL, she can keep her mind directed to where it needs to be. Until Cody.
With each finding the other a distraction they have to fight for what they both want. But what happens if what they want changes. Can they readjust their goals? Or can they find a way to have both?
I really enjoyed this book. When I found out it was book two I was a little unsure as I usually prefer to read a series in order however I am very glad o read this. I loved the authors writing style, I found it very easy to get into the story and become invested in the characters. The story flowed well and Cody and Briann worked well together. An all round good book.

Book Review: Abandoned Love (Love Sick Series)
Author: Sydney Aaliyah Michelle
Four Stars
This is a first read of Sydney Michelle for me. I am still a bit unsure of what I think. The overall writing and plot of the story are pretty good, not quite what I am used to in terms of depth and the feelings butterflies of my normal reads.
I am not counting her out yet. I am going to do some more research and wait out the rest of this Love Sick Series and see if I can develop more emotions and feelings for the characters.
The things I did enjoy about this book are the things the characters are dealing with. The secondary character Leah and her near crippling anxiety is very heart warming and I adore her and Ryan's relationship.
I had some major issues with some of the errors in this book. I do not blame the author as she does have listed on her Copyright page that she has an editor and proofreader. I do however blame them. There is one instance in this book that the lead, Cody, is refered to as Cole. Several other small grammar mistakes throughout.
Overall a good quick read and I did enjoy how Cody and Bri found their way and even made places for themselves.

Abandoned Love by Sydney Aaliyah Michele is the second book in her Love Sick series, and what a great follow up in this series. Following the story of Cody and Briann, and just how far they are willing to go for the idea of love. Cody is a football player working to get an NFL contract, and is not looking for any distractions, but along the way Briann happens and she is nothing but one big distraction. Briann has a bad reputation, but she is all about looking toward the future not the past, and she has skills that can help Cody get to his goal. They will have to work together to get what they both want, but when the heats turns up keeping their hands off each other will be one of the hardest things that either of them have done. The chemistry between these two is off the charts, and the way that they were fighting against it just made for such a great read. Michele is not new to me, as I have read several of her books in the past. Her writing style is different with every book, really keeping it fresh and unique depending on the characters and story line that she brings to her readers. I can't wait to see where she takes this series next!

It is an erotic sports romance that can be read as a standalone, but I feel you would benefit by reading book one first, as there is character introductions and information in that book which will enhance your reading experience of this book. I always love Ms. Michelle’s work. I did have some high expectations for this book, especially after the last one- but I must admit that this story just didn’t grab me as much as some of her other work has done in the past. I can’t really put my finger on why it missed the mark just a little for me- because it is well written, the story is good, and the characters are interesting. But I just didn’t connect with it like I have some of her other books. I will definitely revisit this book again in the near future and see if I still feel the same way then.
Don’t get me wrong, this book still deserves to be read. And just because I didn’t connect with it doesn’t mean that someone else won’t and absolutely adore it.
I really want to see what Ms. Michelle has in store for us next.

I had not read the first book when I picked up this one and I had not read any other books by this writer either … and now I know that I have lost out on beauty! She is a writer that should be on your radar and she definitely is on mine now!
Abandoned Love is the story of Cody Travis and Briann Hobbs – a wannabe NFL player and a personal trainer … sounds boring, right? In reality, it is a great BWWM Sports Romance that takes place in New Orleans (YEY!) and these two, they are so opposite so that it totally makes sense! I enjoyed the ride that they took me on and even though at times I got a bit annoyed with Briann (though I totally got why she acted the way she did), I still hoped for them to find their way!
It was also great how the writer gave us glimpses of Ryan and Leah who were the leads in her first book … I need to pick up their book as well for sure! What a story they have (at least that is what I got from the bits and pieces that the writer gave us here!). Pick up a copy and join Cody and Briann in the hot and humid New Orleans!

Briann has a reputation, earned or unearned, it’s getting in her way. She’d been raised to desire the stability and security that a pro athlete’s career can provide. And that desire became all anyone would see. Until Cody saw more. He too has and almost-impossible dream. He wants to play professional football but he’s not the usual body type you see in an NFL uniform. He’s not as tall, he’s not as broad, he’s just not as big as your typical NFL athlete. Will these two be the answers to each others’ dearly held dreams or will they be the complication that makes everything go bust? This book is much lighter than the previous one, but it still takes on some pretty deep emotions. I loved the message of believing in oneself that fills the pages of this book. And also, the advice to surround yourself with a cheering section that will believe for you until you do. Cody and Bri’s story stands well on its own, but since Ryan and Leah are such important secondary characters, it’s very helpful to have read their story first.

I have read Sydney’s books before and knew going in I’d like this book...I just hadn’t realized how much I’d like it. I had a hard time putting this read down to get family responsibilities taken care of.
“I had the urge to rescue her, but from what? Bad judgement, low self-esteem, or from a mindset that made her think she had to demean herself to get a man to like her.”
This book covered different internal struggles, recovery, self doubt, forgiveness, acceptance, self worth and growth issues personally and emotionally. I laughed, cried, wanted to scream, fanned myself and wanted to congratulate Sydney on her words of kindness and support especially with so many people struggling with depression, anxiety and image issues. What a way to tackle the message and intertwine it into a beautiful story.

Cody really wants a career in the NFL and Briann is a personal trainer. When their paths cross, things will never be the same. At first I had trouble getting to know Briann. Without giving anything away, I’ll just say she made some questionable choices and it was hard to connect at first. After the characters developed, we learn so much more. I did enjoy Cody’s character a little better.

Abandoned Love: A BWWM Sports Romance (Love Sick Series Book 2) by Sydney Aaliyah Michelle this book can be read as a standalone without feeling lost inside the story but I'm always one to recommend reading in order just so you get the entire experience of the stories. This book follows Cody and Briann's story and what an amazing story it was. Cody has always known what he wants and he works hard for it. But suddenly there's something he wants more than he's ever wanted before. Briann's got plenty of problems she doesn't like talking about. Cody changes things a bit. But can these two truly find their footing with all the drama that hangs above them? These two characters have a chemistry that jumps off the page. I really enjoyed this story its storyline was well thought out and paced nicely. The characters were complex and I was hooked right until the end. I'm excited to see where this author takes us reader next. I'm giving this book a well deserved four star review and recommend it.

I'm so torn by this book. I really wanted to like it more than I do. It absolutely has its redeeming qualities - a woman who loves her career choice, abman who is optimistic about his dream coming to fruition. There is romance and friendship and professional football. However, the overriding feeling I have is one of disconnection...
This can be read as a stand alone, yet there is a huge issue with a secondary character that had me frustrated with why their behavior is a certain way. Speaking of behavior - the lead female is someone I just couldn't warm up to. While being strong and independent, she was completely reliant on external influences for her happiness.
While the story progressed, I found myself skipping the sex scenes and skimming a little bit to find out how the story finishes.
I have read other things by this author and enjoy her writing, this one just wasn't my cup of tea.

I have read a few books by this author now and I do really enjoy her writing style. One of my favourite genres is sports romance so I was really looking forward to reading this book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the many things I love about this author is her lovely, relaxed and easy to read writing style. Her stories just captivate me from the beginning and they flow seamlessly.
Cody was it for me in this book! He was just amazing! He really did try and be there for Briann despite her less than stellar behaviour at times! However they both had a great determination and knew what they wanted for the future. I had a bit of a love/hate relationship with Briann!
Abandoned Love is the second book in the Love Sick series and although not my first book by this author it is my first from this series – I would definitely love to read book 1 now though!!

Abandoned Love is book two in the Love Sick series by Sydney Aliyah Michelle. This wonderful author has this uncanny knack of delving into many issues normal average joes deal with every day, putting a new percpective on it, and turning it into a magical story. The kind of insecurites that make you sit back and reflect, empathise, sometimes make you frustrated, and feel many other emotions along with it.
Cody and Briann bewitched me and had me fixated on their every move. I loved how their story was told, even the more emotional parts. The highs were dazzling, the lows heartfelt. The story as a whole. Unforgettable. I read this book in one sitting and wished for more time with them. It never seems long enough when you find two such dynamic characters. They just complimented each other in a very attractive way.
A sound and well rounded romance that will make your heart trip and flutter in the most sensual way. 5 stars

Cody has come to town hoping to get into the NFL, when he meets Briann he is pulled in by her but she is seeing his friend. When Briann starts to help him train they start to grow closer. Things take a twist and Briann and Cody have a moment before he leaves for training.
Cody returns and things heat up between them. Briann also shares a secret with Cody, a secret that she has kept for years. Can these two get the futures they have always dreamed of? Will they get a HEA?

I'll be honest, you'll probably hate her at first but the more you read you'll realize she was handed some crap deals in life and hasn't really figured out how to handle it.
Cody is finally getting his dream, an NFL contract. He will stop at nothing to get this contract and this is where Briann comes in, she can help achieve this goal. He sees right through her. He is legit the alpha male with the heart of gold! You cannot help but fall head over heals!
Both are head strong and have the drive to reach their goals but what if love is thrown into the mix? Beautiful story with beautiful characters! I'm jumping back to book 1!
