Simple and warming. Not about picking fruit though, Noah thought he’d chosen a book about how to pick fruit, and was saddened to learn this wasn’t the case.

Found this in my local library and immediately picked it up because of the beautiful cover. I really like the illustrator's style and colour palette which gives this book an amazing feeling of warmth. It starts off by looking at out small world in the galaxy, then zooming in until it reaches a mother reading to her baby and wishing for all the wonderful things she knows that the child is going to experience as they grow up. A lovely book for new parents!

What an amazing front cover!
There is three different examples of personification used at the start of this book, it would be great to use with a class to clearly show the power of personification. However, I do not think you would be able to base a whole scheme of work on this book.
The beautiful illustrations support the choice of words throughout the book. It is a very simple and short book but effective.
