"Around the world and back again" "To Jupiter and back again"
I dont know where to start. Since the first time I read a book by Jessica Prince, I loved her writing. I loved how she can join the funny and the angst in the right amount and make something blissfully amazing to read. And since then, I couldn't find a single page I didn't love.
And that happened again with Charming Fiona. I laughed out loud, I swooned, I was mad, I was in pain, I felt bittersweet, I felt overwhelmed, I felt fullfilled, I had it all!
Although it's a standalone, it's a part of a series, Girl Talk, about Grayson and Lola, about Dominic and Sophia, about Daphne and Caleb and, finally, about Fiona and Deacon.
Ahh Deacon! Sexy, cocky, protective, take-charge, dominant in a totally sexy way, smart and so much more. He wasn't a Bad Boy per se, he was his own person, and he didnt apologize for that. He was that confident. Not arrogant. Confident.
Fiona was sweet, sexy, strong, smart, nurturing and for so long she didnt realize that love, true love, was always right in front of her.
"I miss you, Deacon. You were the most important person in my life and I lost you...twice. I hate that. I hate how things are between us. And I know it's all my fault. (...). I miss haning out and having fun with you. I'd do anything to get that back. I know I don't have the right to ask, but if you could find it in you to one day forgive me, I'd be over the moon. Because not having you in my life at all is worse than any pain I've ever experienced."
And I do believe she wasn't being anti-feminism. Feminism is not about telling a woman she can't want to get married and please her husband. It's about telling "you can definitely do that....if that's what you want and no one is pulling you to it". It was her choice, always her choice. She was her own voice, her own personality, her own person.
In this second chance at love and at themselves, Deacon and Fiona finally find their pacing, their love, their answers, what they were waiting and suffering for, and they get so much more.
They were really hot together (like really sexy and hot!!). They faced everything that presented in their paths and found the love they were looking for in each other's arms. It was so beautiful to watch, they were so deserving of it that my heart was bursting with joy!
After all their journey, after being here and there, after losing and fighting to get what they trully needed, it's right to say that love conquered all. All respect, all romance, all lust, and protectiveness, all happiness and worthiness. All they wanted. All they needed. All they deserved.
"Whatever you want, I'll give it to you."
"I want you. For the rest of our lives."
"Then that's exactly what you'll get."
