Admittedly, I had trouble with this book. It felt really long in general, but then it had so much to it adding layer and dimension and detail. But all that detail made it feel like it meandered a lot and took almost up till the halfway mark to actually get a focus on where it was going to (the focus being a Marvel Avengers-inspired collecting of colorful Infinity Stones -I mean Invictus Spheres. The collecting of which while fun, adventurous, and imaginative, still felt tedious). I also didn’t like Pi much this time around. She felt really antagonistic, high-handed, and disrespectful. As in, she didn’t pull her punches telling people what she thought of them, and most of the comments out of her mouth were spiteful. I know I shouldn’t spoil, but there are some deaths toward the end. Several of them being villains. What really rankled me was that none of the hero characters seemed to feel any remorse from killing people (even fellow students). They actually said things like “he deserved to die”. No one deserves to die, even if they’ve done heinous things. There also weren’t any repercussions from them killing people. Comments like that show off the heroes as being very cold-hearted, callus, and repugnant and apparently don’t value life, and I keep trying to reconcile that with my idea of hero. It also irked me that Pi and Aurie actually knowingly traded the life of one of their fellow students (granted, they didn’t like him much) in place of the life of a friend of theirs who had already willingly sacrificed himself. I didn’t want to lose the character who had sacrificed himself, but it’s practically murder what they did, and definitely playing god. It also irked me that Pi had talked about wanting to kill off her rivals, which sounds far more villainous than heroic. The cast of minor characters was a blur of names without anyone really standing out, with the exceptions of the clichéd mustached-twirling villains, and the Green Arrow clichéd Russian mobsters. But it did have quite a few wonderful, magical moments. And the ending is heart-warming, tying up everything nicely and leading up to a new series.

The fate of The Hundred Halls resting on solving Invictus' puzzles. Wow and what a ride this has been full of thrills, scares, lots of action and of course magic. The sisters manage the impossible whilst solving the riddles one by one, trying to stay ahead of all those who wanted to break Invictus' code to take his place as head patron of the hundred halls. In the meantime the sisters keep on discovering more of their parents lives and in the end find a family of sorts that they always wished for and this in the most surprising of ways! Now that the five years are up is this the end of the series? Hope not as I have enjoyed Aurie and Pi's adventures and I am sure they have more to keep us readers entertained. So Thomas K. Carpenter keep this fun series going please.

This book is such an amazing read. I love how Pi and Aurie are so close as sisters that they know what the other is thinking. Sam Arlington comes into their lives and he hunts artifacts, he takes Aurie out in search of an artifact, which is not all he knows Audie’s mother. He gives glimpses into the person she was. This is their fifth year so graduation is within reach. You know the most we get in life is senioritis these girls get an adventure of more than they ever expected.

This is a must read if you have read of the Hindred Hall books.

Wow such a fun and interesting way to end a series. I truly enjoyed reading these books such a pleasure. Incredible twist turns , loads of action, loved all the puzzles again just Wow. The author definitely redeemed himself i wasn't happy with book 4 . This book is back to what makes the series fun. If you like magic then this read is the place to be. This is a well written group of stories that takes place in an wonderfully imagined modern world. such a lot of fun.
I truly cant wait to find more of Mr Carpenter's work .

Thoroughly enjoyed this series, many ups and downs but the sisters stuck together through it all, despite difficulties arising, seèmingly out of nowhere.
This particular book had me determined to finish in record time, just so I could know what happens to Aurie, Pi and the rest of the gang!
Looking forward to seeing what else is going on in The Hundred Halls

The Last in This Series.

I must say that this book ends well. I could see another series starting but it would be too much like another authors books. I repeat what I said for the first book. There is no question but that this is a series for the teenager, it's properly written, none of that silly use of big, WRONG, useless words!!

I loved the fifth book of the series. I think it was my favorite. The puzzles that Aurie and Pi had to solve and the various tasks they had to accomplish in this installment were so creative and exciting. I loved the plot twists.

Great read

Another fabulous story and the conclusion. I am happy to learn that there will actually be further Hundred Halls books, focussing on other individuals, but also revisiting Aurie and Pi. Great stories, well written.

Great Book :) ...This is the conclusion to the series and I couldn't put it down. It answered some questions I had, and even brought back characters who seemed to have vanished after their roles in previous books. I thoroughly enjoyed this series. A must-read :)

Is it a wrap?

Loved the whole series and the interaction between the main characters. This was the final in the series, but it definitely leaves an opening for future stories. What a fabulous fantasy world filled with intrigue, danger and possibilities.
