April 3, 2026Well, there’s a couple of lame remarks in this book so I guess I don’t endorse the series across the board. Ha, ha. But I still overall love the series!

Browsing books to give my friends' children as gifts since I won't gift anything I haven't first read myself.
This one was tough for me to rate. Of course, I love the Bible story and the overall message it sends. The language is, admittedly, a little dated -- while it did include multiple cultures (which I found a bit surprising given that it was first published in 1975) we don't use the term "Oriental" anymore -- but even more than that, the way the author chose to construct the rhyming made it awkward to read, especially aloud, as there was no flow to the cadence of speech.
