Born and raised in Arkansas. After wandering the world for 17 years (okay, it was Memphis, but it felt like another world!), I've made it home again. I live in a small vine covered cottage on the shores of a 8,000 acre lake with 2 dogs, a bitchy parrot and my fisherman husband. Live is good.

Texas Justice is just what it said a story full of revenge, guilt, sorrow, death, and innocents all looking for justice for one reason or another. When a sexy lawman said “Spread’em” What do you do? You give him a little sass to make it interesting which really starts this book off with a bang. As is the normal for Ms. D’Alba she gets your attention, grabbing it with a page turner that keeps your eyes glue to the pages. There is a little mystery over Tess’s past and what that has to do with the car accident that leaves a child dead. Many lies will be told for their own reasons as Sheriff Monroe is pulled from his duties, his love and his family to put together the pieces trying to find the truth and mend a broken heart while keeping the women he wants with him and out of jail.

Dr. Tess Sweeney is having a wonderful day looks to be an even wonderful night with the hot Sheriff Monroe ending it in her bed with his arms wrapped tightly around her. That is until she gets the call there has been a bad accident with a small child at deaths door. She is at a dead run busting through the hospital doors only to find her past coming back to haunt her. Without giving the story away I can say the rest of the story is the nightmare of her past, a small child, his parents, her lover, his family and a town who won’t let a past go wanting to put the stops to a well train surgeon who has given her life to heal those who need her.

Ms. D’Alba delivers a well told believable story that is full of so much pain by a man who thinks only of his self and a wonderful lady doctor who gives her all only to be accused of crimes she has not commented. Your heart will go out to so many in this story but none like it will for Tess who has lost so much in such a short lifetime and the man who is standing behind her not only giving his heart but his trust. The author throws in a few twists that will surprise you along with an outcome that will shock you. It is a very well written story with wonderful characters some you will just love others you will hate a few you won’t feel nothing at all for them.

What I would have liked to have seen is Kyle’s parent’s reaction to her along with seeing them down the road if they had a family or not. What I loved was the excitement, disappointment, sorrow that came through the pages and grabbed my heart holding me captive throughout. The chemistry between Tess and Kyle is very powerful, the way Kyle stood beside her makes him my hero. It’s really a story of power how it is use and who will be brought to their knees. We learn that Tessa had a major problem that she has overcome but still can’t live down. The author covers these issues in a way that it really reaches in covering the reader in sorrow that makes you want to reach in and pull her out of the book until she can catch her breath before she makes a wrong choice.

True the story hits you right in the heart but there is also some humor, love, hot passionate scenes, fun, playful, as well as emotional, painful, hurtful not knowing which way the author is going to take it you yell no, no don’t do it or saying yes yes bring that sucker down. The ending is sad with a few losing so much but very happy and thrilling as others make their wishes come true.

If you are looking for a hot, exciting book that will keep you in the edge captivated the read from start this is the one for you. Come set down a spell a visit with a hot Sheriff and a lady doctor as they fight for Texas Justice.

After reading Hot SEAL, Cold Beer and seeing the connection to Diamond Lakes, I had to go back and read this one. It was originally part of the Cowboy Justice Anthology. I really loved this book, it got me riled up in more ways than one!

Sheriff Kyle Monroe and Dr. Tess Sweeny are a couple, problem is no one knows. She has insisted on that since Kyle's had been her patient and his twin brother Troy is Chief of Staff at the hospital. Troy doesn't like her very much, not personally or professionally. She was hired by the board of directors as Chief of Surgery, before he was appointed.

Car accidents happen quickly and the results can be devastating for parents, in this case the news is bad for one set of parents and good for the other. In this case 2 prominent families are involved and the doctor has a not so pleasant history with one of them.

Preston starts the trouble immediately and in a media storm. Blaming the driver of the other vehicle and the doctor as well claiming drunkenness on both their parts. As the truth unwinds there are quite a few surprises for all involved.

This book shows the incredibly insane things that happen when people in a positions of power misuse it. The ability to fight and overcome is a real battle in these situations.

An intense, well written satisfying read, with a sizzling romance to make your heart race.

I enjoyed this book. The problems were believable but not hackneyed. The main characters were well developed. It is a short book, so the minor characters were less well developed but they did not do anything which conflicted with the personality developed.
I came to care about Tess and Kyle and their friends and family. I mentally cheered when they overcome the obstacles thrown in their path. In this election year, I appreciated seeing the lawyer who played dirty politics get his comeuppance.
The ending was surprising but plausible. Tess does seem to be getting her “Happily Ever After” rather than a “Happily For Now”. I will definitely read more by this author.
I was given a free copy of the book and this is an honest review.

Dr. Tess Sweeney and Sheriff Kyle Monroe's blooming romance is interrupted when Tess' ex-lover the widely reviled DA brought baggage from their bitter breakup and hone in on Tess when his son dies during surgery after a traffic incident. Tess tries to break things off with Kyle so his personal life and career won't be tainted by the vindictive fallout, but Kyle's having none of it.

For my taste, the strong emotional characters started this fast paced outing claiming immediate investment in themselves and this outing. The antagonism between the characters and their personal quirks made the more interesting and a ratcheted this reader's desire to know more about them as the plot thickened but the too neat rushed ending chipped a bit of satisfaction away.

As always, Cynthia D'Alba keeps you glued to your seat, turning page after page. You can't wait to get to the end but then you are sorry it's over. I highly recommend any of her books. Kyle and Tess, in this story, have their work cut out for them. A child dies in surgery in which Tess is getting blamed for. The baby's father, Preston Lloyd, is Tess's old flame and he's out for revenge while trying to keep his own name out of the mud. Kyle, the town's sheriff is doing all he can to prove Tess is innocent, even facing his twin brother, Troy, Chief of Staff at the hospital. The good guys vs the bad guys in this heartfelt story. I can't wait to read more books in this series. This book was given to me by the author with no obligations and this is my honest review.

Texas Justice is book 1 in the Diamond Lakes, Texas series by Cynthia D’Alba and love me some hot Texas cowboys!

Sheriff Kyle Malone and chief of surgery Dr. Tess Sweeney have been in a relationship for six months or so but are keeping it on the down low because Kyle‘s brother is her superior at the hospital. When fake charges are brought against Tess she refuses to get Kyle involved but there’s more here than meets the eye.

Can Kyle help her wade through all the stuff, get her job back and make their love grow? Secrets, suspense, dirty dealings and so much more!

Wow, this is a page turner! I liked the medical aspect and it was very well done; I liked the sheriff and he, too, was very well done. The damage that one alcoholic narcissistic loser could cause to good people (and some not so good) was sobering. The twist offered by the long suffering wife was totally unexpected...karma.

Well written, the pace really kept things moving and the editing and attention to detail resulted in a tight story line that held my interest until the last page.

Felt like the story started in the middle and way too much medical jargon.
