Splish-Splashy Day

It's a rainy day on Sesame Street. But everyone is having a good time--they're splashing in puddles, listening to the rain pitter-patter, and watching the trees dance in the wind. You don't always need the sun to have fun!

I love the illustrations in this book. Lately I "read" the pictures several times a week with kids. The love pointing out details and talking about the various character's reactions, but the words don't hold much interest. Many of the rhyming lines are a bit hard to speak aloud, they don't come easily, so I'm happy to enjoy the book without them. The one exception is the last page, which has the toddler version of a narrative twist. That's just got to be read.

This book talks about how rainy days can be fun and exciting. Lots of characters from sesame street. It helps toddlers to be creative and image playing out side in the rain, and explore the enivorment around us. The pictures are very vivid and full of details.

Fun Sesame Street book to read on a rainy day. It's colorful, short, and has a nice rhytmic narrative that keeps a child's attention.
