As with the other books in this series, I enjoyed this book very much and I am already anxious to read the next installment. The author ends the last chapter with a small paragraph about what each character is doing at that moment, and in a small sense, I suppose the series could possibly end there, with each person's story being left to the reader's interpretation. But in all honesty, I was more left with a feeling of "Ok, what next? What's going to happen with everyone? How is this all going to work out?" The loose ends are kind of bundled together, but they're certainly not tied up. So yes, I'm definitely ready for Book 5!
I continue to be impressed by Kila and her strong character. She is not a princess who needs saving. I also like Quinn for the same reasons. I think one of the reasons I like this author so much, is that he has strong female characters in his books. The characters are able to take care of themselves, but at the same time are vulnerable enough to know that everybody needs a helping hand sometimes.
Without the risk of spoilers, I will just say that I was happy with most of the outcomes in the story, and I would recommend this book to others.
And I still wish my cats would talk to me telepathically, but so far they refuse.

Kila and everyone else is back - both the good and the bad. What will it take to get rid of the Hargothe? I love to hate him but his schemes are far reaching as we learn a little more each book. This time we learn more about the secondary characters and learn some of the answers we were left with at the end of book 3 but more arise. They seem to have more book time this story. It just means I have to keep reading this series to see what crazy thing happens next. Also learn more about this world. My honest review is that I find it engaging and far reaching. I still like it. I find I never quite know what will happen next besides running from the Hargothe by someone in the story. Plus with each book we meet more characters that do not seem important too much now but you never know what will happen in the next one.

Not Kindle Unlimited, got the first one through one of my freebie sites, 2 and 3 from the writer as ARCs {so the usual free book in hopes of review, own free will, etcetera} ditto this one. Odd/different, the prequel being the shortest with 2 a bit longer, 3 seemed as long at least, and this one seems a bit longer than that but may be wrong on that. Positive posted this before, but it wasn't here, and neither was 3. Had to skip 3 first {been a while since then} to get back in Starside mode, but that's just me, as go through so many in a day/week/month. I really want a magical cat, mine are just overall annoying.

Mr. Edstrom has an uncanny way of describing events that become clear even though the reader may be unfamiliar with his world. Sooo many plot twists in this book my neck hurts just trying to keep up. Kila matures in her powers. Her friends stay by her giving her support where they can. Almost makes me envious of her wishing I had friends like hers. Her goal was to get her cat, Nax, back so she could feel whole again. As an animal lover having raised many cats and lost them, I can certainly relate. I love the characters Mr. Edstrom creates in this book as they are well fleshed out. Their different personalities add to the depth of the story, even the evil ones that you love to hate. I am very much looking forward to reading the next book in this series to see where Mr. Edstrom takes this. I highly recommend reading this series to all fantasy lovers everywhere. Very well written.

Another great book by Eric Kent Edstrom. This Starside Saga is very very good. The stories are well written, interesting and intriguing. They blend together as if one long story. The characters are so realistic you could almost believe that this whole series was in fact a true collection of real stories. A must have for anyone's reading or for their library.
I enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to reading more books from this author.

Growing into a strong series. Very much enjoying these books. YA in the modern sense: strong, likeable but flawed teenage heroine, nothing severely graphic, but accessible to adults and without the over explanation of books that cater to the early readers. Fuller world building and character building. If there are some tropes I don’t care because they ground the story. Only one distracting spelling error (a word substitution).
Immediately going to the next book. So I guess that makes this 4 stars.

My third read from author Eric Kent Edstrom continues developing the world and characters created in Thief of Sparks (Starside Saga #1) and A Raven’s Dream (Starside Saga #2). A well-written, attention grabbing read! When does book #4 come out?

The series continues to pull me along (even though I don't usually like to read YA.)
