...to kill something if you have the right weapons. This is the end of the Mega series and they go out with a huge bang, as well as a hail of bullets. Very entertaining and exciting, well worth waiting for. I do hope it's not the end of the story for Team Grendel.
Hello Gemmies! I have an entertaining audiobook review to share with you today. MEGA 6: No Man's Island by Jake Bible is the sixth and final book in the MEGA series. This series was such an unexpected joy read for me, i'm sad that it is over. MEGA 6: No Man's Island was a lot of fun and a satisfying end to Team Grendel's story.
MEGA 6: No Man's Island takes place immediately after the events in MEGA 5: Murder Island. Out of options, Ballentine surrenders himself and the entire crew of the Beowulf III to his ultimate enemy. I wont put any spoilers here but we find out who the enemy is, and what the long game is, that Ballentine has been playing all this time. Of course this wouldn't be a MEGA book if being in the enemies clutches was all there was. We have another island full of dangers, and our favorite Mega Killer Shark is back as well! Jake has delivered another well thought out thrill ride. There are plots within plots and our team is pushed well beyond their limits.
There is some character development in MEGA 6: No Man's Island, we meet some new interesting characters and we get more insight into Ballentine's motivations. WE also see Darby's story come full circle. Their are more than some heartbreaking moments, but also the trademark dark humor Jake Bible is known for.
MEGA 5: Murder Island is narrated by one person, Neil Hellegers. I can not imagine anyone other than Neil narrating this series. He really brought each character to life, giving each a unique personality and sound. His pacing is perfect and he adds just the right amount of sarcasm to successfully nail all of the dark humor.
If you love zombies, plot twists, giant killer sharks, dark humor, family drama, and Island adventures go read this book! Published by Severed Press, MEGA 6: No Man's Island is available for purchase from all major booksellers. I give MEGA 6: No Man's Island 5 out of 5 gems. Happy Reading!
THIS OH IS A PEREFIC EXAMPLE OF AS AUTHOR SLEEPING THROUGH A JUNIOR COLLEGE COURSE ON WRITING. THE PLOT WHAT THERE IS LITTLE OF IS NOT BELIEVEABLE AT ALL. THE COMSTANT REPEATING THE SAME STUBID FRAZES IS TIREING.THE USE OF ALL THE BAD LANGUAGE IS AN INDICATION OF A SMALL MIND. IF I HAD KNOWN IT WAS GOING TO THIS BAD I WOULD NOT READ ALL 6 BOOKS. AT 75 YEARS OF AGE MY SPELLING IS NOT THAT GREAT.
Jake Bible’s characters are wonderfully developed. The story may be titled about and have a lot of innovative monsters to deal with, but it is Team Grendel that made me eagerly consume all six Mega books. Can’t get enough of their unique and stylized comraderie. Hope for many more books to follow!
Fun read for a lazy cooler day. May not be great literature, but that was not why I found it so much fun plenty of action and kept me invested in the characters until the end.
As i come to the end of this series i have to say this series has been a blast. The series is epic and I've enjoyed it from book 1 to 6. I say it's a must have. Loved it
I’m so sad! This is the last book (as far as I know) of the Team Grendal / Mega series! I have loved this series so much. It’s just pure joy to read. Seriously, this is a very fun series that I highly recommend.
Ok, now to Mega 6: No Man’s Island! So book 6 starts out a little bit confusing as we go back in time to the very start of Ballantine’s plans. It was all cryptic and vague so you wouldn’t know what was what until literally the very end. It was a little weird at first and took awhile before we realized what was going on, but the pay off was nice. Overall, the confusion was brief and the reveal was fun. While I wasn’t hooked right away, I knew this author wouldn’t let me down.
No Man’s Island was very much a character driven book, more so than the others. There were zombies and a mega shark, but they really never felt like a huge focus this time around. The villian was clearly the human elements. The monsters were more on the back burner.
While the plot felt more focused on the characters, I did miss the Team Grendal dynamics. For a majority of the book the team was (mostly) split up. Part of the fun of the series was watching the team’s bond grow and seeing them banter with each other like family. I wish the team had been together more throughout the book.
Very satisfying end to the series. Ballantine finally accomplished his plan and it was nice seeing all the questions finally answered. The very end mini cliffhanger did feel like it was setting up for another book for maybe a short story? I don’t know if it was ever followed up on….?
Mega 6 is just action, action, action. Things get crazy as soon as chapter 2 starts and it never slowed down until the book was over. Just like all the other books in the series, this was extremely fun! If you are looking for just a crazy, fun action packed series with giant creatures, insane sharks, and dark humor… this series is for you. Check it out!
