To Where You Are

Rate this book
Molly is broken. After her world is torn from her one cold February night, all hope leaves her, and merely existing is the best she can do.

Imogen is lost. When she is forced to leave the life she loves and is thrown into a new one, she struggles to adapt to everything that’s expected of her.

When they meet each other, they’re like chalk and cheese. They’re opposites and yet they are, in a strange way, the same. Both fighting to find who they are in a world that’s very different from what they know.

They form a bond that cannot be broken. Imogen helps Molly love life again, and Molly teaches Imogen what living really is. And when new loves come into their lives, they help one another to see a future beyond the darkness they’ve both embraced as permanent. But is Imogen all she appears to be? And is it true what they say: if something seems too good to be true then it probably is?

Delve into Imogen and Molly’s world in the first book in the Protectors of Light series.

H. A. Robinson is a jet-setting billionaire with a home on each continent, who spends her free time saving kittens from trees and babies from burning buildings. A graduate of Hogwarts and a frequent visitor to Narnia, she drinks coffee in Central Perk and tames dragons on Westeros.

In her dreams…

In reality, she’s a teaching assistant living in a small town in Cheshire, who would almost always choose fantasy over reality. She’s been an obsessive reader from the moment she picked up her first Enid Blyton book, more years ago than she cares to admit, and enjoys nothing more than getting lost in new worlds and adventures from the minds of all the amazing authors out there.

She’s had the voices of characters in her head for as long as she can remember, and puts them down on paper in order to convince herself and the men in white coats that she isn’t crazy.

"If I don’t go with him, he can’t tell me anything bad, and if he can’t tell me anything bad, nothing bad can have happened."

This was an unexpected surprise. While romance is a heavy theme, this story is about healing and friendship. To Where You Are follows two women through the darkest time of their lives. Molly has all but given up, and Imogen, while I think she’d like to, can’t for Molly’s sake.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The two form an unlikely bond that carries them out of said darkness and into the light, as well as into the arms of new loves. The message is poignant and uplifting and while the circumstances are gut-wrenching, Imogen has a way about her that keeps the feeling light. I loved her quirky spirit and her take-no-prisoners attitude. And the good doctor Seb. Astian?

"You walked into the bloody door. I did not slam it into your head."

I’ll take more of him, please. #swoon 😍😍😍

Molly tragically lost her husband, her rock, and her life falls apart. She loses the will to leave the house, get dressed in the morning, stock her fridge- typical life activities- because of the guilt and crushing depression that she feels over his death. Imogen (henceforth called Immy) serendipitously meets her in a Christmas market. Infectiously funny, persistent, and crude at times, Immy pushes Molly to participate in life again with a loving hand, and they develop a BFF relationship that has so much love that I could feel it in my heart. Their back and forth banter is so effortless and believable- I felt like I was right there with them. Every person should have someone who loves and "gets them" as much as Immy and Molly do. And the best part of such a relationship is that it isn't only Molly who gets the healing loving touches that help to piece her broken heart back together. Though it may seem at times that helping Molly to pick up the pieces is what Immy was born to do (and you'll find out more about this later!), Molly helps Immy to do the same. Watching two women bloom and support each other... makes me feel all mushy inside.

There are two male characters in this book too, who support our beloved heroines. And while George and Seb absolutely play a vital role, Immy and Molly are the scene stealers. Maybe it's because we read the narrative from their POV. Maybe it's because I related to them more as characters. While I enjoyed watching George and Seb's relationship with each of the women progress, the real show stoppers are Immy and Molly themselves. At the end of the book, when one of them has to leave, and I was absolutely gutted. I cried... a lot. I am sniffling just thinking about it now. But when you have a friendship like theirs, simple logistics like time and distance cannot possibly erase the strong bridge of love built between these beautiful souls.

I loved this book that made me laugh, cry, and feel deeply. Hobbs and Robinson's styles played beautifully against each other and helped to mend my broken heart at the end. Four stars for a strong series start from this duo. I can't wait to read more.

No, I'm not crying. You're crying!! That was one of the most beautiful stories I've read in a long time. It is the story of love and friendship and true selflessness. Yes, there is romance - beautiful, perfect, swoony romance...but this is truly Imogen's and Molly's story. A story of how love and friendship heals us and makes us whole. I had no idea what to expect when I started this. I had no idea of what was in store for me, and my heart and soul are both full right now. And on a side note - I am Team George all the way. My goodness, I love that man's soul!!!

Imogen Thomas had her life cruelly ripped from her, but given a second chance to help others was her calling. This was how she came to meet Molly Sparrow ...strangers at first glance, but their similarities were plain to see. Namely, their grief over life...

Excerpt:
“I’m Imogen. You’re Molly. And I’ve been there, too, you know? Days where all I’ve wanted to do is stay in bed, ignore the world. But it doesn’t help. It doesn’t work, Molly. Whether we want it to or not, life is going on, and we either put on out best lipstick-and jeans that makes our arses look fabulous-and make life our bitch, or it passes us by. Please, don’t get to the end of yours and regret all the things you didn’t do...

She teaches Molly that life is for living, even in our darkest moments. Their friendship, made the story so lovely. A story I expected to be sad and soul destroying was completely the opposite. It was light, funny in all the right moments and had me laughing through my tears - which for me, is an an all time favourite kind of emotion.

Excerpt:
Sometimes we need someone who won’t give up on us, even when we want them to.

But Imogen has her story to tell too. Molly is her “first” but I don’t want to reveal too much here...but with the guidance of Gorgeous George, she gets her very own kind of future, despite everything she’s had ripped from her. But her journey is far from easy...letting people in, only to let them go...

Excerpt:
They have to learn to live without you, and you have to learn to live without them.

The dual perspective provided us, the readers, a glimpse into each of these women’s pasts, presents and futures but I didn’t want the beautiful story to end! Can I mark down a book for the fact it ended?! *pouts* hehehehe
This is the first time I’ve read a co-written story but I enjoyed it immensely and think the authors worked so incredibly well together to bring together these two characters and make the story so positive and complimentary of one another.

For anyone who has loved and lost, I can see this book helping you. I know it did for me. It was a story full of magic, beauty and bravery.

Final excerpt:
Remembering is a gift, but living is a bigger one.

I'm feeling a bit emotional right now. Actually a lot emotional to be honest. It's hard to put down in this review all that I want to say without revealing any of the story. I hope that nobody writes a review giving spoilers..... a new reader needs to go into this book blind.
What I will say is that this story is very thought provoking. The blurb tells you that both Molly and Imogen have experienced life changing events and they become the best of friends who try to help each other get through and adapt to their new circumstances. As a reader who has experiences similar in my own life, I found that this story reached me on so many levels and is one that I will think back on often and cherish. This story will make you feel every emotion and even when there have been moments of tears, the words by these two amazing authors that have followed, have made me smile.
It has been an absolute pleasure to read this book and it is one that I recommend without a second thought.

Having an Angel help you out is something everyone expects. Having one that drinks wine and makes jokes isn’t something you would expect but this story is heartbreaking and heartwarming all in one. From the start I was trying to put the puzzle pieces together on this interesting story but after a few chapters I just decided to enjoy the story and not try to figure it out. This story for me was a story of healing. I enjoyed the characters and the story line. I definitely recommend this book!!!

5 Heart-Breaking, Beautiful, Magical Stars!!!

I was given this book in turn for an honest review.

They say times a healer. For Molly and Imagine time was standing still. With strength and courage, they help each other to heal, finding happiness once again.

Together, H.A. Robinson, and K.A. Hobbs, have created a beautiful, emotional, story of love, hope, and dreams. It's clear their writing skills compliment, and work, well together. Their words are magical, heart-breaking, and healing, it's a truly unique reading experience.

Imogen is loud, outgoing, friendly, sweet, strong, and determined. She takes on life’s challenges and gives them her all. Even when things get too tough, or her past comes back to haunt her, with the help of Molly, and a beautiful angel, she fights with all she has, embracing the new life she has been given.

Molly is a shell of the woman she once was; broken, sad, and alone. She isn’t living life, she’s trudging through it, one day at a time. She isn’t a weak character, she’s strong, and determined, both wonderful traits, and with the help of Imogen, and a handsome man, she broke down those walls to find herself and fully embrace life once again.

The magic of this story was a huge surprise for me. I wasn’t completely sure what to expect from this story, and what I got was a pleasant, emotional, and magical, surprise. It wasn’t a story I devoured in one go, this was a story I had to read at a steady pace, to fully absorb the words and let the beauty of the story truly sink in. I loved every minute of this story, and it’s a story that will stay with me forever. If you believe, believe in this story. Believe in it’s beauty and believe that what lies ahead for any of us, could be a second chance and that second chance can be more than we ever bargained for.

There are stories of every genre under the sun out there. There are tropes about anything you can think of but To Where You Are was one I had never come across—one had I never thought I would related to.

At this point, I cannot reveal what the trope is because it will spoil the story for those who wish to read it. I can however urge you to do exactly that: read it.

This book is intriguing from the very first words. It kept me reading, desperate to discover how things would turn out for the main characters, Molly and Imogen.

And let me tell you about these two wonderfully developed characters. Molly is at the bottom of rock bottom when Immy comes barrelling into her life with her bad jokes and lack of filter. She very quickly sweeps Molly up and wraps her up in her positivity, giving Molly no chance but to comply. The friendship that blossoms between them sparks off the pages and their witty back and forth will have you laughing out loud, I guarantee.

Immy shows Molly that there is a life beyond pyjamas and supernoodles and slowly but surely begins to bring her back to life. But she isn’t without her own despair. She struggles deeply while trying to accept her new life, one she didn’t ask for, and at times is as broken and hurt as her friend.

Enter THE MEN! Omg. They are secondary characters for the most part but, holy swoon... George and Seb are just. Eurgh. I can’t even. They are the perfect supporting cast for this stunning story, and you will fall for them just as hard as you will fall for the girls. They are handsome and kind and funny and growly and sexy and... I’ll stop now.

This story is so beautiful. It is painful yet light and funny. It will wrap you up like a warm hug whilst spitting you out with a broken heart. The writing is smooth and seamless. At no point do you feel you are reading two different authors.

These two have a bright future as co-authors and I for one can’t wait to see what they come up with next.

Bravo, ladies. It’s wonderful.

So I'm already familiar with K.A. Hobbs work, but H.A. Robinson is a new author to me. This story is their first collaboration, and what a story it is. Just reading the synopsis you know that this is going to tug on your heartstrings.

Both characters, Molly and Imogen have suffered loss and pain, both ladies need saving and it is through the power of friendship that they help each other to heal. This book is not what you would expect, it's more than just a "Buddy Story". I so wish I could tell you but it would ruin the surprise.

The characters are well developed and I laughed at their love of Harry Potter and cookies. These two women felt like old friends to me, but the pain they suffer is heartbreaking but with friendship and love they can conquer anything.

I mentioned love, and I have to speak about George, otherwise known as Gorgeous George! He may be a true gentleman but wow what a man! Supportive and needing to protect Imogen, but not in an aggressive alpha manner. He is everything!!!!

This ius the start of the Protectors of the light series and I have no idea what might come next, but if this beautifully written story is anything to go by then we are in for a treat.

I am actually lost for words. I never thought a book would quite touch me in the way this one has. Maybe it's because of what I'm going through at the minute but more likely its the amazing talent of these two ladies who have somehow managed to sew together a story that grabs your heart then slowly rips it to pieces. You know what's coming at the end but actually... you have no idea...
A beautiful story of 2 best friends helping each other through the darkest times. It was a pleasure to watch their friendship develop and to see them both fall head over heels in love. How can a story end so happily but also with so much heartache! Am I shedding tears of happiness or sadness... Both I would say.
The four characters in this book have been developed well and I really feel like I know them all personally and have been a part of their lives! The storyline went along at a perfect pace and although I don't really like stories written from different characters views I didn't even notice it in this book. If you want a roller-coaster ride of a book that will leave you speechless then this is the one for you. 5 stars. No question.

Wow! What can I say! These two authors alone are amazing but together, WOW! They are spectacular! This story just gives you all the feels and is absolutely beautiful! Make sure you have the tissues ready with this one because you will cry!

Imogen’s life falls apart in the most tragic of circumstances and she can’t bring herself out of the rut she has found herself in. That is until Molly comes into her life. Two complete opposites that have the power to help each other deal with the tragedies of their pasts.

I loved these two beautiful and selfless characters so much I can’t express how reading their story made me feel. This is one of those books that will stay with me forever.

A definite highly recommended read and I can’t wait for more from these two authors.

This book deserves so many more than 5 stars. It had so many emotional moments in it, that were just brilliantly written!! I have tried to read this book slowly to make it last! It covered some tough subjects and they were written about superbly explaining the feelings of grief and struggles. All throughout the book I found I grew more and more in love with Molly and Imogens friendship.
Loved it!!!!

To Where You Are

This was my first read by HA Robinson but I've read quite a few of KA Hobbs books (The Connected Series), so I thought I had an inkling of what to expect from one of the authors at least - but this was completely different.

Imogen and Molly are both coming to terms with their new lives - Imogen as an angel, and Molly as a widow after losing her husband. With Molly still in a dark place two years after his death, Imogen is sent to heal her.

Both of them are hurting from the loss of their family - but they both deal with it in different ways. Imogen is so happy-go-lucky and has such a fun personality, but underneath she is suffering. Whereas Molly is suffering on the outside but is a fun girl underneath. So they are perfect for each other.

Both authors write seamlessly and make the characters personalities really stand out - like someone you could actually imagine being friends with in real life. I loved them both. The two male characters - George and Seb. Astian. were great too. George, the perfect gent, and Seb. Astian the cheeky chap.

The journey through this story was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster - there was sadness and then giggles, and I did have leaky eyes a couple of times - especially near the end! That's my sign of an absolutely heartwarming read, which this certainly was. It has really touched my heart, as I could tell that it was written totally from the heart too. I will remember this for a long time and it's earned a place in my top ten reads of 2018 so far.

I can't wait to read more from this series.

This was out of the ball park amazing! Having only just found HA Robinson (And having loved The Pebble Jar) and having previously read work from KA Hobbs and thoroughly enjoyed, I was excited to get an opportunity to read and review this co-authored story. I've read a couple of co-authored books before and enjoyed them but for me they didn't quite flow 100%. THIS story did !!! I wouldn't have guessed it was two authors if I hadn't known.. their writing style is seamless.
The storyline popped at me from the beginning and I pretty quickly caught on to who Imogen was.. I'm glad it wasn't dragged out too long before as a reader we were actually told this.
The friendship between Imogen and Molly had me grinning from ear to ear.. I simply loved them.. loved them both separately and loved them together!!
George.... swoon worthy George... what more can I say !! He was exquisite and if I die and find George in heaven I'll be very happy!! Lol.
SEB. ASTIAN. omg his appearance in the story warmed my heart but also made for more hilarity between the friends and I just soooo wanted a HEA for all involved !!
And yes I cried.. i am emotional and I do cry at books.. but not that many.. and this had me sobbing... more than once !!
This story really is everything I love and some !! Totally recommend

This book was different to anything I have ever read before! Which was a surprise, and really refreshing.  First things first .... go into this book blind, it's the only way!

Because of this I will be careful what I say .... the relationship and friendships will get you feeling warm, fuzzy, happy and sad. This book, the lovely Molly & Imogen, affected me in many ways, I fell in love with the characters and don't feel able to start a new book straight away as I keep thinking about them, I might even have to read it again before I move on. A book you could go back to time and again, and probably have a different experience each time!

Read It.... you won't be disappointed!

I did not know it was possible to have a big grin on my face one minute and tears pouring down my cheeks the next throughout an entire book. This story grabbed my heart from page one and held on to it the entire time. This will be a tough one to get over.

Molly and Imogen are the perfect pair of friends. They are each battling their own issues but healing one another at the same time. I loved their relationship and watching them change throughout the story.

To Where You Are is a uniquely wonderful story that tore at my emotions every page of the book.

Molly and Imogen are both grieving in their own way. Molly is also struggling with guilt.

What I loved in this book was the friendship that develops with these two, the banter between them as Imogen reminds Molly that it's okay to enjoy her life. With the subject matter I was worried that this story may be a bit on the gloomy side, but actually its light, sweet and sensitive. The romance aspect of the story is almost secondary to the strength and support of these two women, but George and Seb. Astian both have their own appeal.

A book full of emotion and feels, written by two great authors who created such great characters. The writing was seamless, effortless and such a joy. To where you are was something a little different, still a romance story but where healing and friendship was up most and foremost. Such an engaging book, I really loved it.

This book is flipping amazing. I don’t want to write too much as I’m scared I’ll give the story away. This story is all about second chances, and how, with only a little bit of hope, and an occasional moment of letting the wind take you where you need to go, you can heal.
Amazingly written book by two brilliantly talented authors. This book is a MUST read
