Everyone wants a friend, but when Pout-Pout Fish goes to school, he doesn't know anyone, and he starts to feel lonely. Before he gets too sad, he decides that maybe he can solve his problem and make a friend or two of his own. Part of the Level 1 Reader series, this book gives young readers practice in learning words while also learning about actions they can take when things aren't going their way. I liked how Pout-Pout Fish reaches out to others, introduces himself, and invites others to sit with him at lunch. Little ones might find some ideas that they themselves can use in making friends as well.

Is your child nervous about starting kindergarten? Let Pout-Pout fish show the way on just how to make new friends at school! This book is perfectly designed too for early readers who are beginning to put together complete sentences.

This is a short and simple early reader book focusing on the pout-pout fish. Instead of his usually pouting though, this story is about how Mr. Fish chooses not to pout and instead goes out of his way to be kind and make new friends, so his first day of school ends better than it started.
