He is a Keeper of souls and she can see what his future holds.
As the oldest of seven siblings, Greg has always been the one to protect his brothers and sisters. He is also a guardian of souls, keeping the spirits safe from the soul-eating Reapers. With so much responsibility, he hasn’t had much time to concentrate on his personal life. But that all changes when Emily knocks on his door and tells him she has to move in with him.
Emily is Seer who can see visions of the past and future. After an unexpected flash of what fate holds for Greg, Emily finds herself once again involved with the Estmond family and their war with the Reapers. She goes to the family to warn them, but the last thing she expected was to develop feelings for the man she simply wanted to help.
Jennifer Malone Wright is best known for her best selling novella series, The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter. Other works include the follow up to The Vampire Hunter’s Daughter series called The Arcadia Falls Chronicles, The Graveyard Guardians series and her full length vampire novel called Savior (A Higher Collective Novel).
She resides in the beautiful mountains of northern Idaho with her husband and five children where she practices preparing for the zombie apocalypse. Just kidding!
But seriously, between the craziness of taking care of her children, Jennifer has little time left for herself. The time she does have left, usually leading far into the night, is spent working on her beloved fiction or chatting with her equally crazy friends.
Well, my love affair with this series has ended . . . While I was excited to continue to learn more about the Estmond family, this installment seemed to be more rushed and lacked development of the plot as well as the characters. While there doesn’t appear to be a sixth book, this is even more disappointing because there are too many loose ends left hanging!! I’ve enjoyed reading the series, even if some critics will call it a “soap opera.” Isn’t that the nature of soap operas? My only hope is that Wright writes just one more book that brings closure to the characters and the reader! NOTE: Contains language and graphic sexual content.
This was my least favorite of the books in this series. I gave the previous books 5 stars, but this book was too short and not enough substance. A quick little novella with nothing really new happening. Greg and Emily's love story wasn't much either. Did the author rush this to publication? I hope the next book is better. I love this series and couldn't wait for this book, but it did not live up the the previous ones. Jennifer please take note, we want more story and action in the next book. Definitely more substance.
I was glad something was finally happening in this series - although, considering that so many books were leading up to this, the action (and the amateurish way it was done by the heroes) was quite... anticlimatic, to say the least. I'm giving it three stars, because it wasn't as bad as the "alcoholic who loves working in a bar" installment, but honestly, the series is just a... bore at this point.
Lucy us pregnant with the child who will end the war between the and the Reapers. Her brothers and sisters are finding love as well. But the Reaper's Empress is determined to destroy their family and constant high alert is wearing on them. They must keep Lucy and the baby safe, no matter what!
As usual, another wonderful book. What a decision - do you have to try and murder your mother to save you lady and baby. Mother wants to end the keepers and the way will be the murder of a baby. The family are brought together in this fast paced story.
Definitely a Keeper!! Bearing the weight of being head of the family is difficult in itself. Add in the fact that you (& your siblings) secretly protect souls on the daily, see (& have conversations with) your deceased father, & are in a secret war with reapers makes starting (& definitely keeping) any new relationship harder. Even attempting it is a huge step for Greg & I for one applaud him. He’s been holding it together for so long without wanting to let his younger brothers & sisters down. Having Emily, the seer, show up again was not what he was expecting, but boy am I glad she did! I enjoyed their story to the very end, & being reunited for a bit with the rest of the family only added to that joy. Their journey to the inevitable brought on many emotions for each of them as well as myself. So much has happened along the way, of course we are left with questions for what comes next. But...I can’t wait to see! Love this series!! Love this family!!!
Jennifer M Wright you have excelled in this story. It was so exciting catching up with old friends. I have loved this book as I have all the others. I can honestly It is an excellent read Read it.
This I the best in the series yet. The more the family comes together, the more the Reapers try to pull it all apart. Will they continue to fight or will they let the Reapers win ??? Can't wait see.
This book did not disappoint just like the rest in the series. It was good to know Greg’s story and to see how the Estmond family is evolving. Full is action from one page to the next. A very good read.
But the aside, still such a great series. I hope to see more of the Raymond siblings soon. Seeing them as they progress with one another and the growth of their family is heartwarming.
awesome to finaly have the head of the family find someone to care for really good read lots of fighting against the reapers as usual , so looking forward to the next installment
