For a technical commentary it’s very readable, even if you aren’t intending to read it cover to cover. As a pull off the shelf and tell me something commentary—great.

Good careful textual exegesis. Definitely more on the technical side, but very useful.
Little in the way of navigating how Christ's coming, or the NT use of Amos would help us interpret it. But a good conversation partner in the text.

Used in preparing to preach Amos in 2023.

Quite a phenomenal technical commentary on Amos. S. Paul does a great job explaining the context, history, language, and literature of this prophet. Does not bring the interpretation into the church, but if you're not expecting application, it's a top-notch resource.
