Interesting and well written book about the realities of flipping houses. Kemp has a business doing this as well as a reality show.

I thought it was an interesting introduction to the idea of buying, fixing up, and selling a home. With that said it felt like some of the ideas should be taken with a grain of salt. I don't recommend for a single mother with no money to take out a loan and then fix up a house on a credit card then sell it to make tons of money. In fairness to Kemp she does give warnings about how dangerous it can be and how hard it can be but in lots of her test cases the house always greatly increases in value put in $20k and get $80k in equity etc. It seems a little more dangerous then she makes it sound with all the hidden fees of carrying costs, selling, inspections, etc.
I think it is a good introduction to the concept but I think a lot more research is required before one decides if flipping is for them.

In general, people who flip homes in a desire to make money without a desire to improve the quality of the home, often manage to hurt the overall housing market in an area. If you're into flipping homes, this might be an interesting read, but I didn't care for it at all. The quality of life should be a driving factor in renovation of property, not resale value.

Great book for house flippers, but also for home owners who are thinking of making renovations to their property.

A few things are a little dated but mostly relevant stuff. Nothing too earth shattering.
