Fantastic book that starts out with a sizzle and just keeps getting better. Ian has come to Stony Ridge Farms to check in on one of the actors he's the agent for, and to try to sign the actress s her who is his costar. He just happens to be in the right place to catch Cassie as she falls from a broken ladder. Both are hit with an instant attraction, but each has a different reaction to it. Ian is immediately interested in pursuing her, with the intention of indulging in a bit of a fling while he's there. Cassie has every intention of resisting, as she's a single mom whose daughter is her whole life. But fate has them trapped together in a locked attic overnight, and the chemistry is just too hard to resist.

Morning brings rescue, but also shines some light onto the issues that both Ian and Cassie have. Ian is confronted with the fact that Cassie has a child, something that he avoids at all costs. He initially thinks that Cassie is like his mother, palming her child off on others so that she can do what she wants. He quickly learns the truth, but the damage is done and he has to decide if he's willing to try to fix things. Cassie has her own baggage to deal with. Her husband walked out on her shortly after the baby was born, after cheating on her and blaming her for it. She also feels less than attractive, as she still has some "baby weight" she hasn't been able to get rid of. To top it all off, Ian is five years younger than she is. She's sure that there's no way he'd actually be interested in her.

I have to say that I loved Ian. He's good looking, successful, has a sense of humor and underneath the Hollywood reputation he's actually a pretty nice guy. One of my favorite things about him was that he liked Cassie just as she was. He preferred her curves to the stick thin Hollywood types and he had no trouble showing her so, over and over. I also loved seeing him with little Emily. Once he got over the shock and admitted to himself that there was more to what he and Cassie had than sex, he really got into the whole baby gig. It was adorable to see him really enjoying the little moments. He was falling and falling hard, when Cassie's ex showed up and started to make trouble. My heart just broke as he tried to do what he thought was right for Cassie and Emily.

One of the best things about Cassie was that she felt so real. She's a single mom dealing with the same things that moms everywhere deal with. She has the body issues from being pregnant. She deals with the exhaustion of being the only parent, even though she has the support of her family. But through it all she is giving Emily all the love and care she has to give. I loved seeing those sweet moments, like taking Emily for her first ride, and the quiet rocking of putting her to sleep, balanced out by the other side such as the screaming teething times. I loved the strength she showed in doing what she had to do. When Ian came into her life, she wasn't quite sure what to do with him. The attraction she felt was unlike anything she had felt for her ex, but she wasn't going to allow herself to fall for another charmer. That night in the attic she allowed herself to be someone she'd never been before, and while she certainly enjoyed it, it also scared her. Ian's actions the next morning hurt her, but she couldn't help but accept his apology later. When he continued to pay attention to her, and made her feel special in a way she never had, her heart started to get involved. But when it became clear that Emily was becoming just as important to him, her heart became his. Her ex's reappearance created a huge problem, but Cassie dealt with it beautifully. The ending was fantastic.

I also enjoyed seeing couples from previous books. Cassie's sister Tessa plays a pretty good part in helping Cassie and Ian along, as well as being a great example to Cassie. Max is there because of the movie and his wife makes a brief appearance, as do Bronson and Anthony and their families. All of them are examples to Ian that it is possible to have a family life and a Hollywood career.

Posted on What I'm Reading

All right, I finished Jules Bennett latest release Single Man Meets Single Mom. I think is my absolute favorite out of all the Jules Bennett books I have read. So, let me tell you why this book is fantastic:

You gotta love a man who knows what he wants, and Ian Schaffer is that guy. So, he has no problem pursuing Cassie Barrington after just meeting her. Plus there's that instant attraction. For example:
"You're attracted to me."
She couldn't deny the statement."That doesn't mean I should act on it. I don't just go around kissing strangers."
"After you learned my name this morning, I was no longer a stranger."
You have to give the man credit for being bold to. All goes well, until Ian finds out Cassie has a kid. Poor Cassie. Fortunately, the man comes find out who the real Cassie Barrington.

Honestly, I loved this story, because you have that instant chemistry. Cassie is trying to be sensible, while Ian pursues her. Then she ends up getting heartbroken cause he rejects her, and she's thinking it's cause she has a kid. Of course, there is more to the situation. Anyway, once they get over the hurdle the story runs pretty smoothly. Yes, it's kind of predictable that there is going to be some interference on their happy relationship. I was waiting for the shoe to drop.

The man reason I loved this story, you see this playboy willing to change his life for this girl and her child. By the end of the story, Ian had me in a puddle of goo cause he was just so amazing. Yes, he knows how to say the right things, but he was willing to man up. Anyway, you know it's a great book when it makes you cry and you still love it.

I was granted the pleasure of an early read of "Single Man Meets Single Mom" and wasn't disappointed. I loved that the release is so close to "When Opposites Attract" (literally the sister book to this one). The characters of Tessa and Grant, and their story, were still fresh in my mind and carried over to this book about Tessa's sister, Cassie. Of course, they are both stand-alone stories, but it's all the sweeter when you've read them both. It's a younger/man older woman story coupled with a single mom with ex-husband baggage and a bachelor with bad childhood baggage. As I read, I wondered how Cassie and Ian were going to get past all of this, but Jules wrote a convincing story about finding one's way through the emotional scars to find love. It was satisfying to "watch" Ian lose his fight against falling in love, not just with Cassie, but her daughter Emily.

Cassie's ex-husband showed up on the scene just when Ian finally admitted his feelings. I was seeing RED! The ex-husband shows up and wants his family back after he ran out on them when Emily was two months old. The author REALLY gets your blood boiling with this part!

And, I will add, that it's refreshing to read about a female character that's not a 5'9 model-thin, no-flaws beauty. She was real. Complete with a little of the "baby fat", doubts about her image, and her age difference. And well, Ian with baby Emily?? Just sexy.

Single Man Meets Single mom by Jules Bennett is a wonderful story about love and second chances.

Cassie Barrington world revolved around her young daughter and training the next triple crown winner. After her husband up and left after the birth of their child, romance was the furthest thing from her mind. That is until she literally fell into the arms of Hollywood agent Ian Schaffer.

Ian Schaffer dealt with the glamour of movie stars on an every day basis. He comes to his clients set located in Virginia horse country to check up on how things were going when a woman tumbled into his waiting arms. Cassie Barrington is so unlike the starlets that he is used to it’s a refreshing change for Ian. He finds himself attracted to Cassie and fights it tooth and nail. Its not just Cassie he has to think about but her little girl Emily.

Spending so much time together has Ian and Cassie giving into their overwhelming attraction. As this relationship grows Cassie’s ex makes an unwelcome appearance. Can these two overcome the threats of a vengeful ex and find their chance at happiness?

Single Man Meets Single Mom is a heartwarming and sizzling story. It’s a continuance of the Barrington’s family series and revisits characters from the previous book. Cassie and Ian’s story is one of my favorites, its emotional and all out sexy. Looking forward to the next book by Jules Bennett.

This is my first book by author Jules Bennett and I was really looking forward to reading this book. I mean who doesn't love a book where guy meets girl, guy likes girl, guy finds out girl has a kid. I sure do enjoy reading them. Their kinda my weakness even though it's my every day life. And their have been a lot of single parent books out and coming out soon.

This book grabbed my attention right away and had me laughing (in a good way of course). All of which are important to me when reading, if a book can't hold my attention well all bets are off. But this book doesn't have these problems.

I loved Ian Schaffer right from the beginning. He was confident and sexy and had a humorous streak. And I loved how even after he learned Cassie had a kid he stuck with her, even though he had his doubts. Ian also made me have tears in my eyes at the end of the story (you'll have to read it if you want to know. I don't want to give away any spoilers).

Cassie was sweet and sassy and independent. I really liked her character from the beginning. She gave as good as she got from Ian.

I give this book a strong 4.5 out 5 stars and would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys sweet contemporary romances.

Wow, Jules Bennett does it again! A winner in my book with Single Man Meets Single Mom. We met Cassie Barrington in Opposites Attract by Jules Bennett(another very good book). You don't have to necessarily need to read Opposites Attract to read this book but I encourage you to read Tessa and Grant's story from that book. Cassie is Tessa's sister and is a horse trainer. In Single Man Meets Single Mom, Cassie is a divorced woman who's husband did her wrong, a dedicated mom to a little girl, a woman who doesn't want to get hurt again. Ian Schaffer is a handsome Hollywood agent who comes to the filming of a movie about Cassie's parent's love story. There is an instant attraction between the two but Ian does not do long-term relationships and doesn't get involved with women with children. Add to the mix, Ian is younger than Cassie. Well you can guess it, attraction is hard to resist and real feelings develop! Throw in a returning ex-husband who wants his family back to the mix, you really need to read this story to find out Cassie and Ian's HEA, you will not be disappointed, I wasn't. I did receive an ARC for an honest review but I would have purchased this book anyway. Jules Bennett's books are an automatic buy for me. Jules is a wonderful and talented author.

Single Man Meets Single Mom - hopefully you read When Opposites Attract with Tessa and Grant this one carries on with Tessa's sister Cassie.

Watch the sparks fly when Single Man Ian catches Single Mom Cassie in his arms! I think she rocked his world from the start, lord knows she is not ready to trust another man, no less a very handsome man from the Hollywood setting but Ian is hard to resist. With Jules, you know her books will have issues on relationships, things in their past to overcome. It is always a thrill to have Jules take us on our roller coaster of emotions to find our HEA. How can Ian possible resist Cassie and her charms, then throw in the most adorable little girl Emily and he is hooked!

I loved the first book in this series but this one hit me even more powerfully on the emotions and passion they share. Could be the added benefit of Emily but the story is a wonderful read....don't resist and pick up a copy and see for yourself!

Single Man meets Single Mom is a fabulous romance on the older woman younger man trope. The conflicts and emotions were well described and there was never a dull moment in the book. I loved how the characters meet in the most extraordinary way right from the first line of the story.
Ian Schaffer is a charming and sexy hero who has made his mark in Hollywood at quite a young age. He is commitment phobic and hides from everything that says”vulnerable” or “emotion”. His personality went deeper than his playboy persona and that was the best thing about him. Cassie is a single mom who has been through a bad relationship before. The person who was supposed to be her prince charming turned out to be a frog and therefore she is not interested in trusting any other man with her heart again.Read More

I received a review copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Single Man Meets Single Mom by Jules Bennett is a fantabulous addition to the Billionaires and Babies Series. If you've read Bennett’s When Opposites Attract, you’ll be familiar with Cassie Barrington. She’s a single mother, horse trainer, and the sister of Tessa, a jockey. Now, she has a story of her own.

I absolutely loved the realistic characters and storyline presented. Cassie is a curvy real world heroine with real-life problems. So as you can imagine, there was drama and well-developed conflicts related to her role as a single parent. Read More

This is my first book to read from Jules Bennett and needless to say, I am hooked!!!! I can not wait to read all the other books by Jules.
Single Man Meets Single Mom was such an easy flowing book to read. I loved getting totally lost in the Barrington family and with the single agent, Ian. Ian was such an easy guy to fall in love with because of the way that he treats Cassie and baby Emily. Ian was such a caring person from the start and the way he took care of the girls just makes your heart melt!! I was on the edge of my seat to see how the book ended. I love a good love story and this one tops the list as one of my favorite!! Thanks Jules for writing what we love to read!!

When Cassie Barrington literally falls into the arms of agent Ian Schaffer, things change mighty quickly. Cassie's ex-husband walked away without a backwards glance after their baby is born. Leaving her with doubts and insecurities. But Ian sees nothing wrong with Cassie and a lot of things right with her. Things heat up and it's all good!
This story is such a great love story..I love how Ian can't help himself from being attracted to Cassie, and how Cassie lets herself go to be with him. The attic scene is so good!
This is the next story in the Billionaire and Babies.
A great story from Jules Bennett

Jules Bennett did it again, her consistently beautiful writing is so worth your time and money. In this book, a younger man steps up to the plate and falls in love with a ready made family. Blending into a family is never easy work, no matter what the situation, but with Ian's emotional baggage and Cassie's reluctance, you wonder if they will be able to make to their very own Happily Ever After. And the characters sizzle with chemistry! Not to be missed!

A delightful story from a remarkable author, Jules Bennett, who never disappoints. This story has horses, family, sexual chemistry, a nasty ex and a cute little girl. The storyline flows nicely and the characters are well detailed with great interactions. Cassie and Ian have an instant attraction, but both have past issues. Finding true love is never easy! Great book you don't want to miss out on!

This was older woman/younger man themed, but their age didn't matter because they had a connection right from the beginning. Ian is such great hero material how he interacts with Cassie's little girl is so sweet. Though he had his misconceptions of Cassie. Loved the attic scene, very sexy. When Cassie's ex re-enters the picture what does that mean for Cassie and Ian's future. I thought it ended perfectly with such a sweet romantic moment.

Great follow up story about the Barrington sisters. This is about Cassie who thought she married "the one" only to have him stomp all over her heart and self esteem. Enter Ian, who wants no part of marriage and let the fireworks begin. Sweet romance with a little bit of sexy thrown in.

Another great book by Jules Bennett. I just read this book and so glad that it was bundled together with another favorite author. Have you ever felt the instant attraction of the opposite sex? That is what happened here. Cassie literally falls into Ian's arms..It is like sparklers going off. I loved how they tried to fight the attraction. It was hard and they eventually succumb to the attraction between the two. But both are fighting pass hurts that have happened. Can they come above those and find the love the both need and deserve? Must read..If you love Jules Bennett than this book is one you must read!

If you read Jules Bennett's "When Opposites Attract" you will recognize a couple of the secondary characters in this book. Cassie Barrington was a secondary in that book and now she comes to the forefront to tell us her story. When agent Ian Schaffer shows up at the Barrington estate to check in with his client and star of the a movie being filmed there Cassie literally falls into his arms. Sparks fly between the two of them right away. The two seems to get along until Ian finds out she has a child. Thinking the wrong things about Cassie he puts the brakes on any relationship that might have had. His past experience with a mother who was single and spent all her spare time finding new men and no time with Ian growing up he casts Cassie wrongly in the same light. Cassie being a single mom and what she feels is a bit frumpy and no where near the glamorous women she thinks Ian's used to. Just to throw another player in the mix Cassie's ex-husband shows up after walking out on her 10 months ago and never trying to see his daughter wanting them both back. Wanting the life he through away back. This is one of those quick fast reads. You can read it in one evening in one sitting. Jules Bennett gives you a full book feeling in a little less than 200 pages. Just the right size for when you just want to get lost in a book for a while.

This story is about a woman falling straight from the sky into the arms of a Hollywood agent and bang - instant attraction. Cassie Barrington is a horse trainer, single mum and a divorcee. Ian Schaffer is the Hollywood agent that has come to her fathers horse farm to help his client who is filming Cassie's mum and dad's love story for the big screen. Ian grew up in a family that was demanding and their was no love between his parents, Cassie's family had love unbound and was always supportive.

It is a lovely story line that shows a country girl and a high flyer falling in love even though they have both suffered in the past, Cassie because of her ex husband and Ian because of his parents. The story keeps you wishing and hoping that these two would hopefully get their 'Happy Ever After' in the end.

I would recommend reading "When Opposites Attract" before reading this book. That book is Tessa and Grants story. Tessa is Cassie's sister.

Cassie is a single mother with the cutest little girl Emily. She has an ex-husband who ran out on them when Emily was a few months old. Ian is a hot bachelor. He is used to Hollywood type woman. That is not to say he is not attracted to Cassie from the start.

The sparks fly throughout the book. But after spending time together and letting love flow is the ex about to ruin everything? Will Ian want to stay with Cassie after he meets her ex? Her ex wants her back will she choose her ex over Ian?

Loved both the characters in this story. Jules keeps you turning the pages with her beautiful stories. The drama just sucks you into the story more. I have to admit I really wanted to smack the ex....Just saying.

Well done Jules Bennett, you have given us a story that once again that will leave us wanting more and more of your wonderful stories. She takes us back to Stony Ridge farms and the Barrington family who we first met in When Opposites Attract.

Single Man meets Single Mom did not disappoint me from beginning to end. Ian is a LA Agent to the Stars. Cassie is a woman who has been betrayed in the worst way by a man she though loved her. And then there is darling little Emily, who will just steal your heart. This is heartwarming, passionate story of love, hurt, trust and passion. Can this single man and single mom, build a future together, with the Emily, have want they both want... a Family… You will have to read this wonderful book to find the answers…

Single Man Meets Single Mom is a continuance of the Barrington’s family series and takes part again on the heroine’s family’s horse farm. I was able to get my hands on an advanced copy. I have read books by this author before and they are always enjoyable and satisfying reads.

Cassie and Ian have past issues that make it difficult for them to get together after their initial meeting and instant attraction. He’s a Hollywood hotshot and she is a divorced mother dealing with the desertion of her husband. The characters are likable, the attraction palpable and I recommend!

(Also recommend getting the first book in the series When Opposites Attract)

I loved the premise and the rich, in depth characters, but their internal struggles were reiterated a bit much. A lot of back and forth. I would have loved Ian not to have so much doubt. Him with the baby melted my heart! Wow. That was some great stuff! Loved the ending, but I think it needed a little more fighting with Derek. It was leading up to his return for a while, and then it left off in court.
My first time reading Desire and it left me wanting to write one. I'll have to explore this imprint further.
