I’ve been here ever since, writing stories, drawing, and raising kids with my wife (who I’ve been with since 1980 as well).
I’ve had more than 30 books published (not counting the anthologies, but counting the ghost-written stuff only alluded to on this site). I also run a small publishing house, Walkabout Publishing. Recently, I've started posting new stories for Kindle on Amazon, in addition to my print work.

This starts a new trilogy that takes place in the YA of Dragonlance. In this one, Catriona is heading home as she has been gone a long time. When she arrives her home town is destroyed and Catriona finds herself in another adventure.
Catriona was introduced in the first YA book but this is a good starting point. My rating might be a little skewed because Catriona is my favorite character that has come out of the YA adventures. That being said this is my favorite offering from these books. This book has the hallmarks of a fantasy adventure. The main character has a mission to right a wrong, do-gooders to accompany her, and battles that include a dragon. While Catriona still remains a stand out I enjoyed the new characters that were introduced. The battle scenes were terrific and the twist at the end totally shocked me.
These books are not the most sophisticated offerings. This one is one of the better ones and I enjoyed it throughout. If you are looking to introduce a young person to fantasy this is a good place to start. It can be enjoyed by everyone.

Steve is a damn fine writer, and once again his talents are showcased in a great book that is perfectly set to his skills as a master storyteller.
Having been raised on Dragonlance, I can say that the bulk of the work from that setting does not stand the test of time, but in this case, a solid story and quality wordsmithing makes this a piece that can be both enjoyed now and also returned to if nostalgia ever takes you.
