This wasn't my favorite in the series, but it was still good. I really enjoyed getting to know Link he is such a sweetie. The book is more of a transition period between the events of the last book and the cliffhanger at the end of this one, so there's alot of getting to know Link. There's also the return of Judah and you get to see him and what he's like a bit more which is nice, he's a cute character.

This book fully swayed me to Kerdick's side though. He may look a little crazy and be a little crazy, but when he loves he really gives it his all. You find out he cares more than he lets on and you get to discover the mysteries of what has changed for Rosie thru Kerdick.

Bastien, I did love that guy. But, he left me feeling suffocated and annoyed in this book. He's overbearingly protective and he is relentlessly jealous. I just don't buy him and Rosie as a couple anymore it all felt forced and weird and the chemistry was gone for me. Now her and Kerdick, that's a story I want to read.

So I'll just be over here cheering on the green guy and hoping that for once the underdog in these stories gets to be the winner. Just once...

Honestly a very interesting story and idea but sometimes the characters fall flat. Rosie especially is a somewhat infuriatingly naive protagonist—often her judgement calls and mindsets are so emotional and lacking in logic that it feels like she’s 12. Sometimes the writing can be cringey and the way she speaks makes her sound both uneducated and a good 10 years behind on current slang.
Also, the characters themselves often deal with their defining identity issues in a very flat and unrealistic way. For instance, getting past a trauma after being tortured doesn’t happen in a couple of days—or weeks even. And Rosie can often be a little too touchy about her illiteracy, something not even her own fault. It’s a bit cheesy. The whole “sweet and optimistic” girl attitude often serves to make her seem childish and unintelligent while simultaneously pushing her into the “innocent kind beautiful girl everyone loves” trope without much further development. She doesn’t learn from her mistakes, doesn’t listen to other rational arguments, and the way she handles the issue of her biological parents is ridiculous. It feels like the author has no inkling of the diverse and dysfunctional attitudes that can exist in/about a family. And, the sudden “everything’s great I love you” relationship between Rosie and her father is flat and quite unbelievable. A relationship like that doesn’t just snap into place overnight.

The author takes a lot of incredibly complex issues and writes them through a lens that suggests no real knowledge or understanding of them.

That being said, while the main characters and the writing can be incredibly flat (even if they are interesting), the story itself is extremely intriguing and compelling. The world is interesting and Rosie’s experiences can be thrilling. The whole concept of the untouchables is a brilliant idea and the bond they share isn’t far fetched as some of the characters’ motivations seem to be.

TLDR: love the idea, love the story, wish the characters were more complex, wish the handling of complex topics was better, and wish Rosie wasn’t such an unreasonable, hypocritical, and occasionally stupid character who speaks like a bad parody of a teen half the time (the other half she’s tolerable)

Faîte Falling is an 11-Part Urban Fantasy Series based in French Folklore.

“I’m cool?” he repeated, amused. “I understand well enough the fear that comes with losing the one person ye can count on. When I lost Mad?” He shook his head with sadness. “I understand better than ye think.”

“You’ve got friends everywhere you look. You walk into a room, and women throw themselves at you. Men want to be you. I didn’t have that. Lane camouflaged my body so Morgan’s spies wouldn’t be able to find me. I had a limp and acne. I had a lazy eye and a learning disability. No one was throwing themselves at me. No one wanted to be my friend, except for Lane and Judah. Judah didn’t care what I looked like; he only cared that we were best friends. You have no idea how rare it is to find someone who loves you unconditionally, because everyone loves you! You weren’t Remedial Rosie. You weren’t the Humpback Whale. You weren’t the only one not invited to every single birthday party in the second grade. You don’t know what it feels like to have someone stand with you when no one else will. Judah’s my Brotherhood. Judah’s my family…” (pg. 49)

Link and Rosie are conversing above about why Rosie feels so strongly for her small family and how they enabled her to be able to live in Common and learn, despite her challenges. How the unconditional love of her mom Lane and best friend Judah was like a balm to the wounds that the outside world inflicted upon her.

Ms. Twomey has done it again!

Book six gives the reader a better understanding and knowledge about The Brotherhood of Untouchables and exactly what it means when one carries their tattoo. The pace is action-packed, with well-developed characters and growing relationships among Rosie and The Brotherhood of the Untouchables: Madigan and Link. This book was a real page-turner for me!

Eternally, I will not disclose ANY spoilers, Darling Reader as I wish for you to relish the Continuing Journey of a new heroine: Ms. Rosie Avalon.

I gave this book five (5) stars as I Undeniably Treasured this Fantastical French Fable and I fervently recommend you, Beautiful Bookworm to buy this new series.

Yet another beautiful, powerful, emotion gripping installment in the Faite Falling series! The characters just capture from book one and keep you in their embrace through the entire series (so far). The energy is magnetic, the relationships tug at every emotion within you, and you find yourself looking forward to the next book even before you finish this one! Rosie (the main character) has travelled so far to reach the point where she's at (NO SPOILERS) and she's finally coming into her own! The perfect mix of drama, humor, sadness, happiness, my mind is spinning just trying to describe this to you without giving anything away! Characters abound that you love to love and love to hate, you'll find yourself cheering for the underdog and trying to read faster to flip to the next page! A fantastic read from an even more fantastic author. All I have left to say is you MUST read this series!

This is a fantastic series. I highly recommend you read it but you do need to start from the beginning. I really enjoy how the author mixes all this action, adventure and romance and keeps surprising me.

Rosie is such a special character and I love how open and honest she is with everyone. She truly wants to see the best in everyone. It has brought her heartache and danger but has not changed her.

Rosie is such a devoted friend. This book shows her continuing to be tested by her feelings for the people she loves. She is torn between the two that claim to love her. Rosie does not want to be protected but wants to be out there fighting with them.

As with each book, I am always eager for the next book to be available.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

Untouchable girl by Mary E Twomey continues Rosie’s adventure though Avalon. Bastion has been sent away and Rosie goes through her heartbreak alone. Lane is still travelling seeking alliances with the other provinces. Everyone thinks Rosie is just devastated at the loss of her boyfriend until a magical reason for her ongoing more awry is discovered.
Rosie is kept close to home to protect her from the new dangers that have crept up on them. Morgan continues to be a large threat, but a new source of fear appears coming from the past of Rosie’s Untouchable guardians.
We get to know the elusive Kerdik and see how his adoration of Rosie helps him grow.
Fans of magic and fantasy should definitely try this series.

This series is really revving up for more of the crazy emotions these characters make me feel through every moment of the story. So much depth in the characters, I feel truly invested in everything that happens to them. I feel like Rosie had a bit of a reprieve in this one, but for how long is the question. What I really love about Mary's stories is that there is humor throughout the stories that fits really well with what is going on in that moment. Not to detract from anything important, but just enough to put a smile on the reader's face (or laugh out loud). On to book 7! I highly recommend this book and series!

I enjoyed this book, though I have yet to be disappointed. I love Rosie and I’m so happy we get a better glimpse at her and Judah. I want a friend like him. It has some dark moments, but Rosie is always able to find some lighthearted moments. I love that about her. The end is definitely a cliffhanger so now begins the wait for book 7.

I’m so torn between Bastien and Kerdik. So, basically I’m like Rosie. I love them both at times and hate them both at times as well. -just like the last book, this is the best yet. And the way Mary characterized all of Rosie’s friends has me on the edge of my seat feeling helpless to save my friends and wishing I could knock sense into them.
This book hit me hard emotionally. And Mary doesn’t pull any punches.
You’ll be waiting with baited breath for the next book!

I wanted to read this whole series since it’s an interesting concept but damn this goes slow and full of drama. I read the last 20% halfheartedly, only reading the speaking parts.

This book is bad. No other way to put it. The way sexual assault is portrayed and the psychological effects it causes are offensive and dismissive. Even if the book was good up to that point (it was not) that alone would end the series appeal to me.

I can't anymore.
I tried to overlook things and still enjoy the story, but this will be the last book I've read from the series.
Rosie continues to be naive and thinks/acts like a child - which is fitting because she keeps on talking like a 12 year old, written by someone from Gen X or older. I'm really over dumb FMCs. It's not cute anymore.

While the story actually evolves and book for book we learn more about the world and its history, it's the characters and relationships that break this series for me.
They don't get deeper, but remain rather flat, build up (and break) too quickly. The guys (Link is the exception) are obsessive and controlling and everyone acts like that's totally fine?

I'll miss the world building and Link. The rest, not so much.
