Michelle Brown writes in multiple genres such as Mafia Romance, Dark Romance, Horror Fiction, and many more. She lives in a small town located in North Carolina, USA. She writes stories that will break your heart only to put it back together again, just a bit bloodier. Michelle also co-writes with a close friend under the pen name Ally Michelle.
So "The Reaper" Starts where Pretty Killer Leaves off and this was by far my favourite out of the two short novellas. The action here was ramped right up from the get-go with never a dull moment and we get to spend some more quality time with Rosalina and Tony. So this time around we concentrate more on the reapers story. With Rosie discovering there's much more than she originally realised to her new lover. Tony is also a great match for Rosie's sadistic nature ultimately making these too one great power couple. I also really enjoyed the overall dynamic between these two. I loved there back and forth banter, it was really refreshing. There was also one scene in particular here where Tony definitely let his inner Reaper lose and I loved it so much. It was a fitting and just punishment, Karmas really is a bitch. Overall I found this to be an enjoyable short read, my only issue here was the overall length. I would have prefered it to have been longer. It's hard to sometimes convey the emotion and intent behind the words when the story is told to quickly. However, ultimately this was an interesting read that I enjoyed. Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of "The Reaper" (La Asesina Bonita, #2) of which I have reviewed voluntary. All opinions expressed are entirely my own
MF brilliant! I started this because I couldn't sleep thinking I'd lull myself into it with a book.
Next thing I know my 2 year olds in my face and it's light outside.
This was a bomb conclusion to pretty killer. Michelle really outshines herself with Tony. AKA The Reaper. It has everything people love in a good, gritty mafia book.
This was book 2 in the "La Asesina Bonita"series. This book picks up where book 1 left off and there was a lot going on in it. The Russian mafia has broke into the house and kidnapped the wrong woman turns out they took Amelia instead of Rosalina. It turns out Tony is a killer by the name of "The Reaper" and the council has a new job for him the want him to kill The Pretty Killer". This was a good read it was dark and violent and both of them are perfect for each other. These two prove that you don't mess with them by taking down the man that but the hit out on Rosie. They just wanted to get married and live their lives while running there empire. This book was well written like the first book in this series with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading Diamond Girl.
Loved reading about the pretty killer again. Now we have the reaper too. They are perfect for eachother!! Would love to read more about Nick and Amalia!
This book was not as well edited as the first. Compared to its predecessor, THE REAPER is messy and felt rushed with a lot of typos, missing words, grammatical/punctuation errors, etc.. The dynamic and activities Anthony and Rosalina embark on continue to be entertaining, yet there is one major aspect of the storyline that didn’t add up for me. I didn’t particularly love the ending either. And is he, “The Reaper” or “The Angel Of Death”???? Overall, I am glad I read this duet! Brown is obviously creative and talented - with a high caliber editor and proofreader on board, she will surely go far!!!
This is an author to keep an eye on. I absolutely loved both books. You need to read book one as this continues where Pretty Killers ended.
Rosalina and Tony are ruthless characters. Together they make a powerful couple. I loved the dynamics between them.
I enjoy intense, dark reads and this was an ideal read for me. One scene had me mentally high fiving the author:) I can’t wait to see what else this author has up her sleeve as this was a brilliantly written series.
Let me just say that I was so curious about this book that I couldn't wait to start it right away because the way that the first book ended I need some explanations. Like I said in my previous review I freaking love Mafia books and this series just blew my mind away. Michelle Brown is the bomb writing this genre and Dayum her writing is hot and wild, intense, dark and mysterious. The Reaper is her latest release and tells Anthony's story. But I need to tell you something first because it's important. You must read Pretty Killer first because both books complement each other. Jesus the first book was insane. Anthony is the heir to the Cuban Mafia and engaged with Rosalina. He's a sadist, a killer, with no remorse for whatsoever. If someone crosses his path he will attack. He's called the Reaper for a reason. They went in pursuit the kidnappers that abducted Rosalina's cousin. He will stop at nothing to get her back. Just get ready for what's about to happen. His first thought, after meeting Rosalina, was to take her down but... Jesus what a book. This series is amazing and each book complement each other. The plot is amazing, hot, dark and crazy, super engaging and intense. Each scene was described in every tiny detail and that made me feel like I was a part of the book. Sometimes I wanted to get into the book and hurt someone... These two were made for each other, they complement each other, they are both crazy. Despite all the darkness and drama, this book was a breath of fresh air. I loved every aspect of it and I want more. Michelle you created the perfect duet. Each book is unique and special. I'm in love and I want more. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I never expected for the story to evolve the way that it did. I chose to read it because the synopsis had me waiting in anticipation for the book to hit my kindle. Then we move to age one...
Jesus.
Power is shown through a light that is a breath of fresh air. As you will see from the reaction of the secondary characters in the story, this is an unexpected and strongly welcomed set up.
I adored how the author utilized being a leader and what that shouldstand for, instead of what we believe it has been an example of through generations. I could talk about this topic for hours, but keeping to a short review, minus spoilers, I will end in saying you need to read this book.
It isn't just addicting, heartbreaking and both as sexy and dark as it is funny and at times sweet. But it have underlying messages that are not in your face.
The way the author writes, it literally makes the reader puppet to flipping page after page. But in that same way, the author give multiple points of view, all strongly standing behind their intended purpose.
See? I could talk about this book for hours. But I will spare you the time and let you discover for yourself. Once you have, come back here and we can discuss...
The Reaper is a BEAST. I didn't expect him to be so damn hardcore, so if you know me, you know I like my deaths graphic and brutal. And that scene in particular made me smile, grin, giggle, and all of the other good shit I should not have done.
Michelle did an awesome job of rounding out this duet, and dropped a couple of little surprises along the way.
This was a fab conclusion to this duet. It had everything I'm looking for in a Mafia book. I'm glad we found out more about Tony aka The Reaper I just knew there was more to that man than we saw in book one.
Looking forward to see what's next from thus author.
Anthony and Rosalina.... These two are a match made for each other. The Pretty Killer and The Reaper by far are the sexiest and deadliest couple to grace my kindle. I am in awe of how Michelle to such a dark story and a dark couple and put it all together and not only had me falling in love with these two characters, but rooting for the bloody dealings that they handed out! I for one can not wait to see where this world takes me!!!!
I am not really a fan of fast paced relationships developing, but in this one I liked it.
If you haven't read book one yet, then I highly suggest you to start there otherwise you will be lost. Book two picks up right where book one finished.
This book was more action packed, violent, murder, bloodshed. Rosalina and Tony are on their way to seek revenge on the people who thought it was okay to sneak into her house to try and kidnap her but ended up taking the cousin instead. A hit was made for Rosalina, and the reaper has to deliver her dead. But who is the reaper? Is it someone we know who is close or is it someone else entirely.
We see the depth of what happens when you steal from the jefe. "The Boss". This book was very fast paced and was an enjoyable read.
The connection and chemistry these two have is instant. The sexual attraction is hot. It's hot, rough and dirty.
Anthony Rey De Los Santos, AKA The Reaper is engaged to the Mafia Queen Rosalina Maria
They as are on a mission to save Rosa' s cousin. The two together are a force to be reckoned with, they are Sexy and dangerously deadly. This power couple is not to be messed with.
They come across some hurdles which causes more bloodshed.
I loved how Michelle concluded the La Asesina Bonita series.
The Reaper begins, right where part 1 ends. As Anthony and Rosalina are getting ready for a battle, Anthony, is being put into a difficult situation. The council has a new job for him and he isn't happy about it. He has to deal with the council and the battle with Rosalina, while they live a happy life.
This book is good. It answer the question from the The Pretty Killer. It's a nice read, and it flows easily. Michelle is a good author, and is going to become a best seller.
Heart pounding excitement, sinfully sexy, and held me captive from page one!! I devoured this duet and loved being able to read as it was created!! An absolute must read Mafia Romance with characters created as if I handed over a wish list to the Author!! I thank the Author profusely for allowing me to be a part of this duet and can't wait for more from her!!
The conclusion to Tony and Rosie's story is beautifully written. We got Rosie's story in the first book and now we are getting Tony's. This is a couple that nobody should mess with. And Rosie is a woman to be reckoned with. This is a great story and ending to these two. I am excited to see where the spin-off goes. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.
After reading 'Pretty Little Killer' I was really looking forward to this book and it did not disappoint. You learnt so much more about Tony and I loved it all.
The lead characters are a perfect balance to each other, lethal, violent, dominating and strong. Then you throw in the passion and you have a great story.
Well done Michelle. I can't wait to read more from you.
What a sequel! Michelle has really outdone herself with this one. The Reaper is bloodthirsty, sinister as fuck and has so much blood on his hands they'll never come clean. A perfect match for Rosalina with a dark side that keeps pace with hers.
A slow build up to the crescendo when the action and fun stuff really gets going. There were some intense powerful scenes in this that really brought out the characters, a few that left me breathless, aand some that chilled me to the bone
I loved how Rosalina's character grew into her role as this story progressed until she is a confident, darkly elegant yet brutal boss. Anthony, a with mysterious past now come to light, well he is one crazy bastard when he gets going, not a guy to piss off, nope! His scenes gradually get darker and darker, one in particular left me wide-eyed in absolute shock at how vicious can be when the occasion calls for brutality and violence.
I'm loving watching this author come into her own and finding her words and stories, seeing the development from book to book.
Highly anticipating Diamond Bitch, where hopefully I will get answers to a few of the mysteries that this one had to offer.
The second book by Michelle Brown continues to show her level of excellence. The first book was really good and this one was even better.
I love the way the author does character development. Having a strong female lead is especially important and a man who knows how to stand by a woman’s side? Perfect. The character development builds through both books. While it may seem slow to some, I think the author took immense care in the development and treated her characters with respect. It truly shows how much it takes for Rosie to find herself as the boss and as a woman. I especially love that Michelle Brown will be continuing in the world she creates with the sneak peek she gave for her next book. I want to know everything there is to know about the world she created which is a true testament of great writing.
I loved seeing such a merciless couple in such a delicious way. I absolutely could not put it down. I even carried my kindle around as I made breakfast so I didn’t have to stop reading!
The Reaper is the second book in the La Asesina Bonita series, and since it's a continuation of Anthony & Rosalina Maria's story, you MUST READ Pretty Killer (Book 1) FIRST! The first book ended on a cliffy, so this one picks right back up where it left off. It's a shorter read but it packs a heart racing punch, as danger is surrounding Rosalina Maria on all sides. And while Anthony is considered the Reaper, he's not going take the order to handle his Rosie because she has stolen his heart. So the twists & turns are around every corner as these two travel through a couple of countries trying to take care of business, which had my f-bombs dropping loud & proud throughout the quick but exciting story. Not to mention that the sexy times are full of fiery flames that lit the sheets on fire! Add in some secondaries that keep the questions going, as some are good, while others are bad, and it's not completely clear who is who. I absolutely LOVED this series, and cannot wait to read more by the talented Michelle Brown in the future! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
The Reaper (La Asesina Bonita) pulled me into this mafia world with strongly paced plot filled with violence, wit, hot romance and intriguing characters.
Rosie is fierce and holds her own. She earns her keep as staying the mafia boss. She is someone who is beautiful, skilled, smart, and not to be underestimated. Tony is lovely to Rosie passionate, sexy, humorous and dedicated, but a darkness lies within him making him someone you hope never to cross the line with. Tony past as the Reaper comes forth and conflict arises.
Throughout the book they accept and understand each other. One of my favorite things about this couple is they don't overshadow each other. They can rescue each other and themselves. This duet ended off really well the only thing is now I want to see more of this power couple take on the mafia world.
-I received an ARC at no cost from the author. ~Two Darlin Dolls and a Book Review
The Reaper is more about Anthony and the continuation of his story with Rosalina. In this book we get see Tony’s upbringing and what his father, who is the head of The Cuban Mafia, demands of him starting at a very young age. I liked Anthony but I wanted to love him. One of my favorite genres is Mafia stories/romances. I thought Tony too many times took a backseat to Rosalina. I understand that he knows she more than capable of handling and taking care of herself. But Mafia men, especially the high level ones, are more domineering and more commanding. That’s what I expected of Tony. Especially when they went out on their very dangerous mission. I thought he would be more in charge and more alpha protective. But I loved that Tony and Rosie’s attitude and outlook are in sync. And their acceptance of who they are and their indifference to kill lineup together perfectly. The Pretty Killer and The Reaper are one tough couple that are not to be messed with!
An intriguing read about a female boss, leading in a male world!
Anthony was hilarious and incredibly romantic not at all what you would expect of an underboss, unless you pissed him off... whereas Rosie was interesting. Trained as leader and growing up quickly at a young age made her view of the world very tainted.
This book followed on exceptionally from Pretty Killer, picking up right where it left off. Their romance while fast was sweet and sadistic at the same time. Their love for blood and torture bought these two together in the most unlikely likely ways.
My only gripe with this book was how confusing it was to read. Major plots popped out of thin air, with rapid short explanations and then quickly forgotten about. Leaving the reader grasping for straws over what just happened and if there was some clue that was missed.
If you enjoy fast paced romances, a spin on the mafia genre and characters that thrive off of the hunt then this is a series for you.
THE REAPER picks up right were PRETTY KILLER left off. We tag along with Rosie, Tony and their crew in the pursuit of the kidnappers who abducted Amalia, Rosie's cousin, from Rosie's house. They fly half way around the world not knowing what to expect when they got there. Yet everyone is armed to the teeth and ready for anything. Cue the twist you never saw coming. This is were the author's trigger warning should be heeded. I enjoy intense, violent books so this was right up my alley. These 2 are not to be messed with or it's likely you won't walk away whole or at all. We do see a softer side to them in private but that's were it stays. I enjoyed this second book by this new aspiring author, though it would have been nice to see some of the scenes expanded on. I look forward to seeing what bloody, violent delights she comes up with next
Woah man! Michelle Brown was amazing! This was an ending of all endings! It was bloody and nasty… there was one scene that I just sat all slack-jawed for a few minutes. Brown is gritty and dark and if she keeps this up, she’s going to find herself in my group of favorite dark authors! I just can’t get over the darkness, the sinisterness of this book! I’m not going into it… The Reaper is a serious treat for dark romance lovers, for mafia loves.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
Ever since I finished Michelle Brown’s debut novella, Pretty Killer, I’ve been anxiously awaiting this full length novel. I’m so excited that it was well worth the wait and surpassed my expectations!
The Reaper begins where Pretty Killer left off. Mafia queen Rosalina Maria is engaged to Anthony Rey De Los Santos, also known as The Reaper. Together the power couple are on a mission to save Rosa’s cousin and they’re not letting anything get in their way.
Dark, deliciously dirty, blood-thirsty, and intensely captivating, The Reaper was just so damn good! Heart pounding action, scorching chemistry, and leading female character who’s as strong as steel, The Reaper is a book not to be missed. I think Michelle Brown has actually managed to make me a fan of the genre and that’s saying a lot! 5 Stars.
An intriguing read about a female boss, leading in a male world!
Anthony was hilarious and incredibly romantic, not at all what you would expect of an underboss, unless you pissed him off... whereas Rosie was interesting. Trained as leader and growing up quickly at a young age made her view of the world very tainted.

The Reaper is the second installment on the Pretty Killer duet. We continue where Pretty Killer left off, Tony and Rosalina are planning to surprise the Russians. This book lets us see the side of Tony that we didn’t know, the Reaper. He came to live on this pages and we got to see him in action. Rosalina and Tony are a match made in Hell. They are both amazing together and this book proves that. Together they will have an empire. Michelle did an amazing job at this two characters, they are hot, twisted, killers with a heart that burns for each other. Great conclusion to this duet. Can’t wait to see what Michelle Brown comes up with next. 4.5 starts
** I read an Advance readers copy of this book and this is my honest opinion ***
