Awwww, so cute, fluffy and sweet! 😍 I really think cowboys and babies go together so well! 😉 My first Giovanna Reaves and I am hooked! 💜

Cole was trapped in an abusive relationship with a ruthless, violent and manipulative arsehole of an Alpha for a couple years but it’s not only him in the equation anymore. He’s beaten almost to death and found out he’s pregnant at the hospital. Thankfully, his abusive boyfriend was away and he has to run away for him and baby to survive. And what better place to find solace than in the arms of your loving parents? Now, he found himself at the black meadow ranch hoping for the warm welcome for the wayward son except .. his dads are not home. Kane Cartwright, the sole owner of a successful dude ranch, Black Meadow, thought he has an allergy towards commitment and relationship. But now, he’s in explicably attracted to that little mouthy omega who came looking for his parents. Kane knows Cole is trouble and the mouthiness is only the facade to cover his vulnerability. Cole is running from something and definitely hiding something. But Kane wants him anyway. And thus began the chase from a relentless cowboy who wants to catch a mouthy, bratty omega as his forever own.

Realistic, fluffy, sweet and emotional. 😌 Although this is Mpreg, this reads much more like a mainstream contemporary novel and I loved that little twist. Cole and Kane together are so sweet and boy, that bratty omega surely made the cowboy work for his prize. 😁 And they are so sexy together. 🔥 I also loved that little piece of angst and drama in the end because it tied up the book nicely with a bang. As always, Nick J. Russo did a fantastic job narrating the story and I really really enjoyed listening his lovely narration. Enjoyed this a lot! ❤️

This was the corniest shit I’ve read in a while ( I know I know I say that a lot 🤧) but it was like watching a teen coming of age movie on Disney. The dad fainted and when he came to he was like oh I had the strangest dream that you were pregnant herdy herher 🤠🤡

This was bad all around. Any hope of these being remotely interesting - or of Cole and Kane being remotely interesting - was ruined by bad and corny writing. This whole story was in need of some MAJOR editing as well. Honestly not one page that I can remember had perfect grammar. It also did this weird thing sometimes where if a word like "knows" was at the end of the line, it would go like "know-" and then the -s would be on the next line. What??? I've never seen that, even in badly edited books. It was distracting and disorienting and took me out of the story. Also one time the author was trying to say "sexiest" and it said "sexist" instead....

Kane and Cole go really quickly from "i don't like him" to "I love him" like?? And I just started to skim through this because of the bad writing everywhere that took me out of the story, and bad characterization and plot structure. The bad guy, Cole's ex "Ryker" was a lingering threat but it was dragged out wayyyy too long and then when he finally appeared again (past the 90% mark) it was all over pretty damn quickly.

Kane and Cole are supposed to get married when Cole is 9 months pregnant, but of course he goes into labor before it can happen - predictable - and they get married on the way to the hospital but it was SO glossed over that I could care less. It was like 3 lines from the officiate as they were getting the car and then they were married? Romantic...the author didn't let it lead to anything sweet or cute like in Hart of Dixie or anything like that, it was just...meh.

Kane was, for no reason whatsoever, against the whole "one true mate" and your "forever one" - which is another phrase I've never really seen before - even though he had loving couples, including his parents, around him his whole life. The alpha/beta/omega thing was a part of the story but also not...it wasn't that prevalent in the story, like an afterthought. It most A/B/O stories I read that is a huge part of the story.

The side characters were okay but they weren't very stand out either. Cole becomes besties with Mara, one of his dad's assistant chef with us not seeing them get there at all. We were just told they went to besties even though when they first met they were kinda snarky with each other. But then she went away from a bit in the story to come back at the end.

Actually, the mpreg thing was the thing that had the least problems in this story. Everything else wasn't good.

This was such a miss for me, I do nOT recommend. I love mpreg but it bums me out when the story is written so badly. Mpreg stories are capable of being written well, it just hasn't happened much in M/M *sigh*.

This one is a MISS and I do not recommend anyone read it. It's not worth it.

This is my first thing I think I've read from this author, and aside from some....oddly phrased sentences and wording, I really enjoyed this story!

Cole and Kane got off to a rough start, a lot of snark and feistiness, which I always love reading about. And when they finally started giving into the feels, they had some great chemistry together, too. I also loved that this story really went through Cole's pregnancy from the start of the story to the birth, it didn't slip months ahead at a time, just days and weeks.

Like I said, there were some weird sentences and phrasing, and I also felt like there were some things that were never really explained - I wish that the rules were a bit more definite as far as the whole fated mates and mpreg go. I don't want to give too much away, but certain things with Cole's ex just seemed not fully thought out as far as the details in the story went.

Anyway, definitely interested in more from this series, look forward to the next one!

Another enjoyable mpreg story in the Alpha/Omega(nonshifter) realm. Easy reading. The plot around Cole's ex was a bit ott but otherwise I liked watching Cole and Kane's relationship develop as Cole's baby bump grew.

I feel cheated. I went into this book expecting a lot more. I mean after all there is a man pregnant with a baby....giving birth to a baby. This is a paranormal, mpreg romance novel, yet it read like a regular romance novel. I feel like perhaps thats what the arthur did; maybe she just created a regular story and swapped the she for he. I guess I wanted more of the science behind the story. It's a male pregnancy....give me something. LOL.

I love this take on MPreg and the Omegaverse. I am a sucker for a down and out story and I loved the budding romance between Cole and Kane. There was also that little bit of suspense, knowing that Cole's ex was out there and eventually going to rear his ugly head . . . . It was like waiting for the other shoe to drop and I loved it. Overall, a great story that kept me engaged from page 1!

This was pretty much a miss for me. I just never really felt the connection between Cole and Caine. The whole business with the ex boyfriend ruined the ending for me. Nick J. Russo did a nice job narrating or I probably would have DNF.

I was looking for something sweet and fluffy, but still good. This one fit that bill pretty good. Although I did have some issues with the plot and timeline, I honestly didn’t care enough to be upset by them.

A sweet read. A heart warming romance that leaves you feeling all warm and fuzzy at the end. The story is all about the growth of love and trust, along with the growth of Cole’s pregnancy. It was kinda cute, the relationship growing with the size of the baby bump.

I started reading this because a) it was the first Mpreg romance I came across and I had LOTS of questions, and b) it wasn’t a shifter or menage Mpreg (I thought that would just be way too far out for my first Mpreg read. This one seemed more benign) For the first few pages, I was literally reading through my fingers, much like I watch a horror film where the bad guy jumps out at his victims. (I HATE jump scares—and so does everyone around me, because my first instinct when I’m startled is to start swinging. But I digress…)
I’m happy to say that by the 50% mark, I was able to put my hand down and read like a normal person. I wasn’t scarred for life by anything I read in this book. But that’s not to say it was all that GOOD either…

Here’s what didn’t work for me…

Stereotypical hero, Kane:
Kane, the Alpha in the story, was very cookie cutter. I could have plucked him out of this book and placed him in any cowboy romance on the market today and he would’ve fit right in. There was nothing terribly interesting about him. He was a big, strong, nearly monosyllabic cowboy. Yawn.

Cole, the Omega:
Cole was so effeminate in his mannerisms and speech and actions that it would have taken little more than a name and pronoun change for the author to turn him into a woman in the story. If Cole was a woman, this would’ve been a super typical M/F cowboy romance. I probably would’ve liked Cole more if he didn’t reinforce the stereotypical question that old bigots always ask gay couples (i.e.: “Which one of you is the man in the relationship, and which is the woman?”). I hate that crap!

Explanations, please?:
The book assumed that I knew everything about the “Omegaverse”, even though this was book 1 in the series. I understand that most Mpreg fans will probably understand the terminology, but I think authors should assume that every reader coming into their books doesn’t understand anything about the author’s “world.” It should all be explained to me as if I’m completely new to the genre/author/subcategory/series. This book made a lot of assumptions about what I know. (And it apparently assumed I was WAY more knowledge about the subject matter than I really am.)

Stilted dialogue:
Lots of the dialogue read like nothing real people would ever say to each other. It was pretty awkward.

Editing:
Y’all know I’m not a grammar Nazi, but there’s no way this was professionally edited. There are LOTS of errors. And I’m not talking about minor stuff. For example, there was one scene where the “most sexist man in the world” walked into the room. It took me a minute to realize the author meant “sexiest”. Then it took me another minute to get past how crazy-wrong the phrase “most sexiest man” is. (*shudders*)

Instalove:
Kane and Cole didn’t spend much time together at all before they were “in love”. I let some of that slide since the concept of “fated mates” seems to be big in most Mpreg AUs, but I’m still not a fan of it.

Cartoony bad guy:
Cole’s ex was so cartoonishly awful that it was laughable. There was absolutely no depth to his character at all. And what’s worse was that he didn’t show up until the 90% mark of the story. I assume his only purpose there at all was to force a climax into the story. That’s just lazy writing as far as I’m concerned.

So, long-story-short, this wasn’t the worst thing I’ve ever read, but it was far, far, far from the best.

I'm apparently in the minority here, but f*** it, I'll wear it like a badge of honor.

I really wanted to like the book but it was just so bad, that I couldn't finish it. With my job and other responsibilities, me time and fun time are fairly scarce for me, so I don't want to waste it reading a book I don't enjoy.

What I didn't like about the book you ask? Well, well, well ... where should I start?
- the character were a walking cliche, I couldn't even be arsed to remember their names, so I'll just refer to them by alpha and omega.
- the omega was annoying and bitchy for no reason, like the first time he met the alpha and his dad's assistant chef (which for some reason made them become friends sometime, somehow during the book).
- all the 'he's running from something', both the alpha and the chef apparently noticed that withing 5 minutes of meeting the omega.
- the Mary Sue vibe the omega had really made me want to vomit, the constant reminders of how sexy he was and the constant fawning over him by the secondary characters was too much for me to stomach.
- the constant reminders of how hot both the MC's were: everybody new the alpha was hot and every other side character seemed to have the need to remind the reader that the alpha had men throwing themselves at him. With the amount of ass he got, I'm surprised our boy didn't turn out a proctologist. Same goes for the omega, he was apparently such a beautiful creatures that the entire ranch became enamored with him, being asked out on dates as soon as he arrived and having people wait in line for just the honor of dancing with he, this includes the alpha's best friend which after one look of that omega's sweet ass was all f*** loyalty, gimme that.
- the plot with the ex made no sense to me, maybe because I didn't finish the book, so that one might be on me. Why was he obsessed with the omega? If he was obsessed with the omega why was he fucking the omegas friend? Why did the friend try to warn the omega when he was f***ing the ex? Why do I give a fuck about that when the author clearly forgot about it as well since until the 70% mark the ex was mentioned solely as the sperm donor?
- the lack of reasons why the alpha didn't believe in fated mates. Like seriously, just one, one would be enough.
- the flimsy excuse for struggling with their attraction the author provided. One minute they were like 'this needs to be professional, no getting evolved', then *BAM* kiss!

And I think that was it folks! I have officially purged myself of this book!

DNF @ 8%.

Cole complains that all Kane has done is give him the cold shoulder, which is odd considering they have known each other for all of 5 minutes in which they engaged in conversation, so I don't think there Kane could have given him the cold shoulder in that time. He then snaps and cusses at Kane but then mentally berates himself, as Kane is just being nice. Sure, that makes since.

And your ex isn't going to think to look for you at your parents' home?

Then we have sentences like this: The first thing he did was bought out all their investors [...]. That is awkward enough to read, say it out loud and it sounds really awkward. Should be "buy out" as past tense has already been indicated. "He did bought", " he bought", "he did buy"...two of those are right and one is not.

Oh, and Kane had "café au lait skin". Its 2019, are we really still using food to describe skin colour?

There are a few too many issues for not having even reached the 10% mark. All I can think is that the author either didn't use and editor or didn't use a good editor.

The Cowboy's Baby is a Mpreg first of the series novel featuring a pregnant omega Cole Bradford who flees from his baby's abusive father to get a new start with his parents at the Black Meadow Ranch. He decides he'll handle his own problems and plans to move on to some other place safe from his ex when his fathers discover they will be grandparents. He agrees readily and takes time to find work in preparation for building a new life with his baby. He approached Kane Cartwriter, his parents' boss and manager for the Black Meadow ranch, for a job running a new cafe that will feature his baked goods.
Cole and Kane dislike each other initially but cannot deny their initial attraction to one another. Kane is a bit of a player but finds himself totally thrown off guard by the slick New Yorker. When Cole confesses he is pregnant, Kane finds he isn't put off by the pregnancy and is instead looking to provide protection for Cole who was left for dead with his old boyfriend beat on him. What's even more surprising to Kane is his forward to being a daddy for Cole's baby and sharing a life with him as a marital partner.
When things couldn't be better in his life, the FBI shows up to tell Cole that his ex is wanted for murdering a man and is on the run. Cole encounters the ex who tracks him down through internet advertising for his baked goods. It seemed that the ex owns a man lots of money and agreed to give Cole's baby to him as payment for the debt. Fortunate for Cole, new husband Kane (with some help) ended that!
I found Giovanna's Mpreg refreshingly different from what I have experienced in the past. I love that omegas are a norm in her universe and therefore the characters are just folks getting on with their lives. It leaves the reader free to focus on the meat of the narrative, which is how the protagonists grow to love and build a life together, overcome adversity, and find acceptance in their world. The world-building is wonderful and the conflict is credible and resolved in a plausible manner. I'm REALLY loving this author's writing style!

Cute, sometimes cheesy, some eye-roll moments, overall: easy to read.

Could have benefited from the use of an editor, but I chose to take it for what it was, a light, easy read, which enabled me to pretty much glaze over the flaws.

Will I read the next one? I don't know.

There weren't any characters that particularly stood out or made me want to read their story. The whole book was just ok. Character building- ok. World building- ok. Sex- ok. Action- kinda fell flat. I think I got to the end only because I'm a sucker for mpreg and the most interesting thing that happened, for me, in the book was watching Kane come to grips and bond with Cole's baby.

I don't leave the book feeling like I want to visit Black Meadow Ranch again, neither do I leave feeling like "I'll never do that again".

So, I just feel like I came, I saw and now it's done... the end. 🤷🏽‍♀️

It's hard sometimes to know when to cut your losses, or so it seems for Cole. Cole has been in an abusive relationship and after his partner's last attack has decided to leave for good. He's heading home to his parents who work on a Dude Ranch in Montana. He's not only trying to protect himself but also his unborn child. Kane, the ranch owner, allows Cole to use his parent's home while they're on vacation. From the first time they meet there's something between them. Cole thought his ex would be his mate but it never happened. Kane doesn't believe in fated mates despite the evidence of his own parents. After meeting Cole he's wondering why he wants him so much, and he's even willing to accept a child that's not his. A very touching story of finding the right one, finding healing, finding love.

Cole ran away from his abusive boyfriend after finding out he was pregnant. He refused to let his child be raised in that sort of environment. He fled to the ranch his parents worked at, in hopes of finding some peace before continuing to run.
Kane is running his family ranch and meets Cole the day he arrives. There is an instant attraction but both men fight against it, causing some ripples in their interactions. One day, they stop fighting the attraction and connection building between them, what they find is something worth holding onto - family and forever. Now, they just need to overcome some obsticles, like a crazy abusive ex.

Great story and characters. Definitely recommend this book.

I really liked the premise of the book. Cowboy Mpreg is my jam! Then ending felt so rushed though.

*spoilers*
Ryker((?) I listened to the audiobook, so I don’t know how any names are spelled) was running free the whole time and we didn’t hear anything about him. Then all of a sudden at the end of the book, he’s ruining the happy ending. I was listening and I checked how long I had left. When I saw 10 mins and I realized we still hadn’t got rid of the asshole ex, I was so confused. Then they got him and Cole made a little speech about Kane and how much he loved him and the book was over.

TLDR: the ending was rushed so I felt cheated of a happily ever after. Still a good story though, I just felt the buildup was immaculate for very little reward.

Ok Romance

This is a Mpreg romance, which means that men can get pregnant! Yep! So, this was a real stretch for me. But, my issues with this story are not even related to the Mpreg. There are two groups of males-alphas and omegas. Alphas are pretty self-explanatory. The omegas are the baby guys, small in statue, more emotional and just the weaker guys. Just like in any romance I read, I don’t like weak, whiny characters. And, these omegas are just that. Sorry, just a no go.

Also, very explicit m/m sexual situations. Fans of this genre will love it but it just wasn’t right for me.

Cole went to visit his parents in Montana to escape from his ex. When he arrives there, he meets Kane, who is the owner of the ranch. After being brought to his parents house, Kane leaves. When his parents come back from vacation, he is so happy they are there. Cole slowly started making friends and is working in the kitchen to help out. As they slowly started getting to know each other, they started to fall in love. When Kane found out Cole was pregnant with another man’s child, he wasn’t sure how to process that bit of information. This book does lead to a happy ever after. Great world building and high heat. Loved it and cannot wait for more.

It was an enjoyable read. No big twists. Baby Daddy drama lurking in the background. You knew it was coming, and just kept hoping to get it over with.
I liked the MC's. I liked that while they were moving forward in their relationship Cole was pregnante the entire time. Kane decided he was all on board quickly. Bonding with the baby even before birth.
They were cute.
I was a little surprised to see a mating bite happen in a non-shifter omega verse. I kinda like that. I'm a growly alpha bite and claim kinda girl.

I can’t believe I actually finished this. Story pacing was totally off, Cole and Kane had like zero chemistry and their entire relationship was forced. Not in a fun fated mates way either. They just didn’t fit and the author tried to make up for it with boring sex scenes. Like yes I read these books specifically for the sex scenes but these were boring. The characters have to fit.

Also. This needs like four more rounds of editing. Pronto.

Mpreg , non shifter, may contain some spoilers.

I enjoyed this mpreg story. Escaping abuse, Cole ended up at the ranch where his dads lived and worked. There was immediate attraction between Cole and the ranch owner, Kane. Both tried to ignore the pull , especially Kane who did not believe in fated mates. However it wasn't long before neither of them could resist. Everything is running smoothly when Cole's past comes rushing back, threatening all their lives.

A good read and one I probably will read again. pregnant omega leaves the city to visit his parents, who are not at the ranch when he reaches there. he is also running from an abusive partner. he does not count on meeting and falling for his fathers boss, Kane. it can also be said that Kane does not have in his sight falling for a mouthy omega who is pregnant but the fates have something else ins tore for them both.

No way!

I was 100% incapable of finishing this absolutely horrible book. The premise is the only reason I gave this 2 stars. It was a good idea, just poorly executed. They grammar and typing mistakes were so glaring, my children would have been appalled. You can't get into the story because grammar like "most best" is child's play to correct. Terrible.

This is the first book I have read (or listened to) by this author and I thought it was pretty good. I like mm romance and mpreg non shifter books and it was a quick enjoyable listen. I do credit that a lot though to the narrator Nick J. Russo who is one of my favorites. I hope future books in this series make it to audio, I would like to check them out.
