READ MY REVIEW ON THE BLOG

TITLE: When It's Right
AUTHOR: Victoria Denault
GENRE: Contemporary Romance, Sports Romance
TROPES: Single Dad
RATING: ★★★★
CLIFFHANGER: No

I'm doing this series backwards. I read the forth and last book in the series first I'm working my way to book 1. I don't mind - these are all standalone although it does have a story arch that follows this tight-knitted family dealing with their father's ALS. But Victoria Denault does a great job writing these books in a way you still follow even though you haven't read the previous books.

WHEN IT'S RIGHT is the story of Sadie and Griffin. Sadie is everybody's rock. She is reliable, steady, level-headed. But put enough pressure on something and it will crack, no matter how tough it is. When Sadie meets the Thunder's goalie coach she's already spread thin with everything that is going on with her dad's condition and has nothing else to give but Griffin is a temptation that is hard to resist.
“I’ve never had a first and last kiss at the very same time.”

Griffin has his own troubles that should make him give Sadie a wide berth. His ex-wife is gearing up for a custody battle for their daughter and he just doesn't have the capacity for a relationship. But just like Sadie he is irresistibly drawn to her, this beautiful, sweet, wild woman and he wants nothing more than to be a rock for her.
“I miss all the time I never got to spend with you.”

Sadie and Griffin were cute together. They hit it off from the get-go but found a lot of reasons why this wouldn't work so this actually makes for a pretty slow burn romance. Their obstacles aren't something to cough at and both of them have a very good reason to believe that it's pretty shitty timing for a relationship. But, you know, when it's right...you just work for it, fight for it and if you have to battle for it with dirty means. I loved how they held on to each other - their path wasn't without detours but they quickly got back to where they supposed to go.
"Everyone in your life needs you to be strong, but I don’t. You hold up everyone else. Let me hold you up.”

Sadie's strength, her steadfastness, the way she was the buffer between her family and her ill parent made me admire the hell out of her. She was amazing and with every blow she took I was only waiting for her to break. But she didn't. She was the superhero in her family.
Griffin was a good man and his love for his daughter was my favorite thing. He was the best dad. And when Sadie needed to lean on him, he was there, no questions asked. I hated his ex though so I'm glad she got in the end what she had coming.

I fell in love with this family in NOW OR NEVER, their dynamics are fun and sweet, their tight bond so tangible. Everyone should have a family like that. Their antics, especially the sisters taking their brother down a peg or three by giving him shit yet doing it in such a lovable way, are hilarious. My heart went out to them watching them coming to terms with ALS and what it would ultimately mean for their family.

WHEN IT'S RIGHT is a beautiful story that had my heart in my throat at times and laugh out loud at others. It was quick and satisfying, emotional and sweet.

I loved this romance! This is the third book in the San Francisco Thunders series but it would work just fine as a stand-alone. There are some ongoing family issues that continue throughout the series but I think that everything is explained well enough for readers jumping in with this book. This was a pretty quick read that I found hard to put down.

Sadie and Griffin were both fantastic characters. They had fantastic chemistry from the very start of the book and I couldn't wait to see how things would develop between them. They made such a good pair and just worked well together from the very start. I loved the way they seemed to see each other in a way that others didn't.

I really liked the fact that these characters were dealing with some pretty tough issues in this book. I found my heart breaking just a bit for Griffin, Sadie, and the Braddock family. Griffin had his priorities in the right place but it seemed like everyone was working against him at times. Sadie was trying so hard to be what everyone needed her to be and take care of her family. I found the parts of the book that dealt with her father's decline to be both touching and heartbreaking.

The side characters were a lot of fun in this book. Sadie and her two sisters make a rather interesting team and I loved their interaction. Their older brother, Jude, was also very close to them. I loved how they all teased and joked with each other. Griffin's daughter, Charlie, was adorable and added to the story as did his brother, Hunter. Sadie's father played an important role and I thought the fact that he had some really powerful scenes.

I would recommend this book to fans of contemporary romance. I had a fantastic time with Sadie and Griffin as they fell in love. I am very glad that this book is told from alternate points of view because the reader really gets a chance to see what each character is feeling about everything going on in their lives. I can't wait to read more from this amazing series!

I received an advanced reader edition of this book from Forever Yours (Grand Central Publishing) via NetGalley.

Initial Thoughts
So it is really no surprise that I loved this one. I loved Griffin and Sadie together and thought that their chemistry was really well done. I liked that their hold-ups to a relationship were somewhat understandable. Sadie's family is fantastic and it was fun to see their interactions. Charlie was a great kid and only added to the story. I can't wait to read more of this series.

Love and family…

The Braddock clan are dealing with a family crisis that have bonded them in ways that nothing else could. At the same time, they are living their lives, building their careers and, if lucky enough, falling in love… Griff and Sadie are my new favourite characters in this series that once again has brought the family together in tragedy and love….

Griff is part of the Thunder family and, proving that there are few degrees of separation, quickly catches sight (and the eye) of Sadie. They are hesitant at first, and survive a few courtship bumps, before deciding any drama is worth trying to build on the feelings they have. Feelings of desire and a clicking of souls as they face each challenge with heart and hope…

Each couple’s romance is sweet and sexy with just the right amount of drama. At the same time there is a bittersweet plotline that connects each story together. What struck me again was how jumbled up this story/series makes me feel. The writing style makes it seem so easy. Each tough conversation, each heartbreaking revelation, inviting me to share the funny moments as well as the ones that have me reaching for tissue.

A story – a series – that makes me laugh and cry means one that I can’t get enough of! ~Diane, 4.5 stars

I think the biggest thing for a romance novel is that it has to make you believe. Believe the chemistry; believe the love, lust, and emotions. If as a reader this is missing, then unfortunately the book will fall flat no matter how great the writing or the story.

For me, When It's Right falls into the unbelievable category. I didn't see or believe the connection between Griffin and Sadie. They fall heavily into the insta-lust/love category and I personally do not like that trope. I did like how they were there for each other during difficult family times.

When It’s Right was the third book in Victoria Denault’s San Francisco Thunder series. I’m a huge Denault fan and this book only increased my love.

Sadie Braddock was the younger middle sister to Jude, Score, book one. She was also an ER nurse and the rock of her family during her father’s illness with ALS.

Griffin Sullivan was the NHL Thunder’s Goalie Coach. He was also a single father in the middle of a custody battle with his ex-wife.

Sadie and Griffin met when the Thunder’s goalie was taken to the ER after being knocked out in a game. Sparks were ignited immediately but both had major personal issues that made their timing off for a solid relationship. Denault took us through their development as well as detailed their personal baggage. It was well written, well developed and told from a dual POV. It also had an abundance of humor mixed in with the emotional plot.

Al in all, it was a quick, entertaining, emotional, humorous and enjoyable read. I loved all of the characters - both primary and secondary- and I can’t wait to read Winnie’s story next in Now or Never.

**4.5 STARS!

It's got the best family dynamic, those moments that'll threaten to rip your heart out, your steamy AF parts (of course), and then full on belly-aches due to the banter and teasing from Sadie? A million times YES!!!

I swear, each book in this series just keeps getting better and better. The hero's get sweeter and sexier; the heroines get sassier and more hilarious!

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. The Braddock family is by far one of my favorite families in fiction. I fell in love with them when I read Slammed and that love has only grown stronger after reading When It’s Right. What I love about this family is how funny and supportive they are of one another. They are going through a really hard time yet they still manage to find something to laugh about or celebrate. And watching Griffin and Sadie fall for each other was definitely something to celebrate, especially since Sadie takes on so much of the burden for her family. I laughed and even cried reading this fun hockey themed romance. This is a series I would say you need to pick up. I still need to read book 1, but 2 and 3 ae fantastic!

This was my first book by VD and HOLY SHIT im kicking myself in the ass for not jumping on board sooner. Her writing is perfection and exactly what I look for. If you're a huge fan of Aurora Rose Reynolds like I am, then this author should be on your tbr. This book is a fluffy/insta love story like ARR and its a sports romance!!! Im a huge fan of Sports Romance, especially if its a football read but this book has me wanting to read more Hockey Romances. This is why I immediately went on Amazon after I finished When Its Right and one clicked the other books in this series. My weekend is offically booked and I couldnt be more thrilled. MUST READ!

When I found out that Sadie and Winnie (the other two members of "the sorority") were getting their own books, I could not wait to get my hands on them! Victoria Denault did not disappoint and I loved Sadie and Griffin’s emotional and heartfelt romance! Though this is book 3 in the San Francisco Thunder series, it can be read as a stand alone. I do highly recommend Score and Slammed, however, since they're amazing and because the characters from these books do appear in When It's Right.

I loved how honest Sadie and Griffin's story was. Yes, there is instalust right from the start, but the reality of their lives and the struggles they face are very realistic and significant. This book isn't just a love story between a man and woman. It's also a love story between parents and children, siblings, spouses, and friends. It's a story about timing and the joys and cruelty it can deliver. I think this is the most emotional and poignant book I have read by the author. Her heartbreaking and truthful portrayal of loss, grief, and mortality had me an emotional mess at times, but she balanced it so well with the sweet, sexy, and wonder of new love. Griffin was a fantastic hero and had me swooning and grinning like a fool! Unicorn indeed! ;)

It's no secret that I love the Braddock family, and honestly, I fall more in love with them after every book. I see pieces of my own family and childhood in them, but also things I strive for with my own children and husband. One of the best parts is the banter between the siblings, especially between Jude and Sadie. Those moments of levity kept the book from getting too heavy and had me laughing out loud. The Braddock's are definitely one of my favorite fictional families. I also loved the appearances by Jude, Zoey, Dixie, and Eli. That epilogue had me shrieking for my favorite goalie and his lady love! I honestly cannot wait to see how Winnie's story unfolds, but I also know there will be tears, as the Braddock's prepare for a final goodbye.

REVIEW: 3.5 stars- WHEN IT’S RIGHT is the third instalment in Victoria Denault’s contemporary, adult SAN FRANCISCO THUNDER hockey, erotic, romance series focusing on the Braddock siblings and the San Francisco Thunder professional hockey team. This is thirty-something, hockey coach and single father Griffin Sullivan, and twenty-seven year old, ER nurse Sadie Braddock’s story line. WHEN IT’S RIGHT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Griffin and Sadie) WHEN IT’S RIGHT follows the building relationship between hockey coach Griffin Sullivan, and ER nurse Sadie Braddock. Just your typical night in the local ER finds Sadie Braddock facing her future when her sister’s boyfriend and the goalie for the San Francisco Thunder Eli Casco, is side-lined with a possible concussion. Enter the team’s goalie coach Griffin Sullivan, and the man with whom Sadie will fall in love. What ensues is the slow building relationship between Sadie and Griffin, and the potential fall-out as Sadie struggles with family responsibility, and Griffin’s past makes for some difficult situations.

Sadie Braddock battles between head and heart with her attraction to Griffin Sullivan. Sadie’s father struggles with ever worsening ALS, and our heroine takes full responsibility for the family, their problems, and her father’s continuing care. A martyr to the end, Sadie forgoes any personal happiness in an effort to ensure she is close at hand. Griffin Sullivan, single father, hockey coach and former professional goalie has his sights set on Sadie Braddock but troubles with his ex-wife begin to spiral out of control pulling Sadie into a potential media nightmare if Griffin isn’t able to reign in his former spouse.

The relationship between Sadie and Griffin is a case of insta-lust but slow to develop as Sadie fights her attraction to Griffin in an effort to remain available for her father’s care. A persistent Griffin will finally convince Sadie to take a chance on love, a chance that will be derailed by Sadie’s need to be close to home. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and seductive.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including Jude Braddock and Zoey (Score #1), Dixie Braddock and Eli Casco (Slammed #2), sister Winnie, as well as their parents Enid and Randy Braddock; Griffin’s daughter Charlie his brother Hunter, Griffin’s ex-wife Lauren, and her boyfriend Cale. The Braddock family camaraderie is spirited and real.

WHEN IT’S RIGHT is a thought provoking tale of family, responsibilities, emotions and love. The premise is intelligent and engaging; the romance is spicy and hot; the characters are sassy, fun and energetic although Sadie’s need to martyr herself was questionable although understandable because there is always one child / one sibling that takes on more responsibility than all of the rest. WHEN IT’S RIGHT is an impassioned look at a debilitating disease that affects every member of the family, and the people they love.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.I read Victoria Denault's Slammed a couple months ago, and fell in love with the characters and the Braddock family. I was so excited when I saw that When It's Right was FINALLY coming out, and I requested an eARC as fast as I could.

Overall I enjoyed the newest addition to the San Francisco Thunder series. Initially I was a little disappointed, but I know it's because I read a phenomenal book right before this, and When It's Right wasn't AS good. The more I read, the more I fell in love with the story and the characters.

"Nothing is promised to us forever. But we have to take it when we can get it. Even if we see the expiration date coming"
When It's Right follows Sadie, one of the Braddock siblings, and Griffin Sullivan one of the Thunder's coaches. The two meet when Eli is rushed too the emergency room and Sadie is working as a nurse. The two hit it off immediately, and make plans to go out together later that week.

I was a little confused while reading the first couple chapters, but that's only because it's been a while since I read Slammed and I couldn't immediately remember all the characters, and what happened in the last book. Once I refreshed my memory, I flew through the book.

In this addition to the San Francisco Thunder series, the Braddock family is dealing with their father's illness, which is getting worse. Since Sadie is a nurse, she's basically been put in charge of holding the family up during this difficult time. She doesn't mind being the pillar for her family, except that she has no one to hold her up and listen to her cry...until Griffin.
"My world is shattering, splintering, and people are just...continuing on."
The family dynamics are FANTASTIC. It's so easy to see how much the Braddock family cares for one another. They're going through a difficult time, and have so many sad moments together, but they also lift each other up and support each other whenever necessary. I absolutely LOVE Sadie and her sister's relationship. It feels like such an authentic representation, and I love how the rest of the family makes fun of them and calls them a sorority.

My one complaint is that the infatuation between Sadie and Griffin happened a little too quickly for me. They immediately were infatuated with each other and talked about how ~real~ their connection felt. Once their relationship was more established though, I couldn't stop cheering for them. I also liked that there was some angsty moments, since both characters are dealing with huge issues that threaten to keep them apart.

Overall, this was a great addition to the series, and I cannot wait to read Winnie's story!

I received a copy via NetGalley and voluntarily left a review and all opinions are my own.

I have fallen madly in love with not only Victoria Denault's writing since the beginning of her Hometown Players series but also with the Braddock family since the beginning of the San Francisco Thunder series. The love for the Braddock's has grown exponentially with each book in the series. So I was ecstatic to start reading When It's Right and get to know the witty Sadie Braddock on a more personal level. Little did I know that Victoria was going to absolutely melt my heart with the hottest hockey coach around, Grant Sullivan. Put Sadie and Grant together and you will for sure experience weak knees, heart palpitations, and hot flashes because these two are all heart with explosive desire!

Sadie has had a soft spot in my heart since I met her in Score, the first book in this series, and I couldn't wait to get to know more about this spitfire/nightingale. She has always been a pillar of strength for her family and now they need her more than ever with her Dad being ill. She brought me to my knees emotionally with her backbone of steel and courageousness to always be the strong one in the family. Little does she know that she is going to find a man that will fulfill all her fantasies and be the shoulder that she needs to lean on in times like these.

Grant Sullivan couldn't get any hotter if he tried, with his delicious muscles, sexy intensity, and love for his daughter he is swoon worthy from beginning to end. I loved everything about this hero, especially when he agreed to be there for the ever stubborn and strong Sadie. Nothing is sexier than a man who can give his all in and out of the bedroom and Grant does that whether it is for his daughter, family, or Sadie.

Victoria Denault delivers a love story that has you swimming in emotions and love for everyone in the Braddock family and shows us that love doesn't go by a time table...it happens when it happens. I highly recommend When It's Right for a romance that isn't superficial and still has lots of heat to keep your heart pumping as your eyes are crying for these amazingly real characters. Victoria Denault has made me a fan girl from the moment I opened the first book by her and has kept me constantly obsessing over her hockey hotties. I cannot wait to see if she gives us a story for the last Braddock sister and what kind of steam and emotions she will create for us.

Y'all, I spent the entirety of this book vacillating between giant schmoopy grin and sobby little hiccuppy tears. Perhaps more importantly? I couldn't put it down. I was sucked into Sadie and Griffin's story from the very first page, and they (with a little help from the Braddock family) held me in thrall until the very last.

The feelings between Sadie and Griffin ignite very quickly, first as a physical attraction and then quickly evolving into something much more. There were times it felt almost a smidge too insta for me given the amount of time they actually spent together, but their chemistry was on point and it was easy to root for them nonetheless. There were moments and lines that squeezed at my heart and melted me into a puddle of ooey gooey goo. They're a fantastic couple, and set against the backdrop of the Braddock family dynamic - the whole thing comes together beautifully!

And, if I haven't made it clear? I 100% adore the Braddock family. They are right in the middle of breaking my heart, but I love them fiercely. The dynamic between the Braddock siblings is hilarious and heartwarming and, as I mentioned, as a backdrop for a blooming relationship - it was guilty of a lot of scene-stealing, and more than one goofy grin and giggle.

In all, this is another stellar installment in a series that has quickly become one of my favorite hockey series. I loved Sadie and Griffin, I loved the balance of lightness and heaviness in the storylines, and I loved getting to spend more time with this amazing family. Excited (and braced) for more to come! ~ Shelly, 4 Stars

Life is complicated. It's full of ups and downs, of things that take over when you least expect it, and of things that happen at inconvenient times.

So, how do you know when the thing that you have found, even if it is inconvenient, is somehitng too good to pass up? Griffin has a difficult (understatement) ex wife and a son. Add in a demanding and time consuming job, and he has a list of reasons to stay single. Sadie has a sick father, and family expectations, and a life she is trying to live while dealing with the potential end of a close family member's (not a spoiler, but an overarching story line in all the titles) so, romance is not on her list.

And, then, Griffin meets Sadie. And he resits the attraction. And then she does. And then he does.

And, then, they both realize that it's not going away and that maybe that's just how life works, that you have to take what it gives you when it's good as you never know when that will be taken away. This is definitely the theme of the book, and in both of their lives...and the duality of this for both of them allows them to finally move forward.

The writing is strong. There's a lot of drama and some really serious stuff going on in this book, but it avoids the maudlin and never makes the reader feel that they are being bogged down in things that are heavier than they may want from a romance. A delicate line to walk, for sure and it's handled very well in this title.

I enjoyed this book, and I recommend it.

I absolutely love the Braddock Clan and I think this one has been the most emotional out of the series so far.

The last thing Sadie Braddock is looking for is a boyfriend. She has enough on her plate trying to help guide her family through their father's sickness. It's a lot on her plate. One she's not too happy with having but being the nurse in the family, her father is counting on her to be the strong one and help her siblings understand his choices whether they like them or not. But she next expected Griffin to walk into her life and for him to have such a huge pull on her.

It's been 2 years since his divorce and he thought things were good between him and his ex when it came to their daughter. But he thought wrong. Everything seems to be in an upheaval - including his heart. Why would Sadie Braddock want to have a divorcee in the middle of a custody battle as her boyfriend? But the pull to be with her is so strong, he can't seem to shake the feeling as much as he tries.

Griffin and Sadie were perfection together. Sweet, sexy and sassy. Both had their own huge problems but fate was on their side when these two met. This is definitely a book full of emotions and I loved every minute.

I love this series and was excited to get this book. Having read all the other books in this series, so far, I was excited to get my hands on Sadie's story. She is a nurse, working nights, taking care of her ill father and dealing with her big family.

Griffin Sullivan is a single dad and hockey coach. He is newly dating since his divorce. Him and Sadie have amazing chemistry, but at the same time, a lot of obstacles to deal with to actually make it out on a date.

This was a real story about finding love in a place when real issues occur. Divorce, custody, sick aging parents and family seem to be what we are all dealing with a adults!

This was far too easy. The instant connection between Griffin and Sadie was just too unbelievable. I wanted at least one of them to pull back, to question the instant attraction to the other person or at least a little drama surrounding them being together. Nope...

Griffin sometimes has to be the voice of reason, “Sadie. I will drive you,” I repeat, and then my eyes drop quickly and lift to hers again. “After you put on clothes.” Griffin can be a compromising guy, “as enjoyable as this unexpected make-out session was, I am happy driving you home and picking up where we left off tomorrow,” I volunteer." I liked this book, I fell in love with Griffin he was such a caring man.

I was so excited to be back with the Braddock clan, and they did not disappoint me.

Since Papa Braddock's ALS diagnosis, Sadie has served as the rock of the family. They relied on her as a nurse, and expected her to be the professional in situations where the others may let their emotions get the best of them. But who was there for Sadie?

Enter Griffin, retired NHL goalie, divorced dad, and the new goalie coach for the Thunder. Eli's injury brought them together, and awakened things in both Griffin and Sadie, that had been latent for several years.

I just loved these two together. Sadie probably has the best banter game of the Braddock clan, and the interactions between her and Griffin kept me grinning. They were fun, flirty, and sexy, but their relationship eventually went deeper, and there was a lot of support and true affection behind their words.

Griffin was a standout hero. Sadie referred to him as a unicorn, and I have to agree with her. He was all sorts of perfect, patient, and delicious. There was a lot of swoony sighing coming from me as I read this book, because Griffin charmed the pants off of me. It wasn't just his romantic game that won me over either. His interactions with his daughter were so sweet, I think I got a tooth ache, and the herculean effort he made with his ex-wife was worthy of sainthood.

One thing I really, really love about this series is the Braddock family. I loved the family dynamic and all the love that was shared between them. Recent years had been difficult for the family as their father further deteriorates, and I cried for Papa Braddock, but it was heartwarming seeing the siblings be there for each other and for their mother. I understand how painful it is to see someone you love suffer, and it was beautiful watching them face it together.

Yes, dad's health issues were sad, but Denault filled this story with some really wonderful moments too. There were two very joyous occasions shared with us, and watching Sadie find love and seeing her romance with Griffin bloom and flourish balanced out the painful moments.

I am gearing up for the last book, and still hoping Denault finds some secret Braddock love children in the woodwork, because I am really going to miss this family when it all ends.

I found this book a little harder to get into for some reason. I did Sadie and the way her character was for the most part throughout the book. I also understood that there needed to be some of the story about their father and ALS. I just felt that her sister’s and also her brother wined a lot and for him to be a hockey player he seemed at to be complaining the most. Maybe that part is just me but that is what I got. It also took me awhile to get into the whole Sullivan character who was a coach, but there was no scenes of him actually coaching. There even was not any hockey scenes only talk of them. There was some hospital and him dealing with his ex. I did like his daughter and her character helped move the story along, but for me it just did have it this time. I have given the first two books in the series 5 stars but I can only give this book 3 stars this time sorry. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 3 stars. Eh. This one was pretty subpar.
I love the family dynamic that this series provides. And that's about all I enjoyed about this one.
The romance was blah. Instant attraction but complicated lives are keeping them apart.
What really failed here is the dialogue and said romantic relationship. Both were trying too hard and they just weren't good. The dialogue was typical cheesy tropey romance.
Oh and when you gotta state how much of wild girl you are(multiple times) it probably means you actually aren't.

San Francisco Thunder, Book #3

Sadie Braddock is the rock of her siblings especially now that their father has been diagnosed with ALS. As a nurse Sadie knows exactly what the future holds for their dad and it isn’t pretty. Her father has actually asked his doctors to share any test results with Sadie first so that they can discuss anything that happens and she can break any bad news to the family and make them understand.

Between everything going on within her family, and her busy shifts in the ER, Sadie doesn’t have time for a social life, let alone a boyfriend. At least that’s what she thought until Mr. Hot and Dreamy walks into her ER with her sister’s boyfriend! Eli was injured in a hockey game and Griffin is his goaltending coach, who accompanied him to the hospital. Sadie starts out texting him updates on Eli and before she knows it he’s asking her out!

Unfortunately, Griffin’s world is about to be turned upside down when his ex-wife decides she wants to change their custody agreement of their six-year-old daughter! A budding romance can never survive a vicious custody battle, especially when Sadie has her own problems in her life to deal with. However, it doesn’t stop the heart from wanting what it wants even if it can only end in heartbreak!

I always enjoy Denault’s books and this was no exception. I love the Braddock clan, especially seeing how the girls mercilessly tease their only brother, Jude. And, I have a friend that has a very similar personality to Jude and I can easily picture him saying and doing all the things Jude does. I think it makes me enjoy his scenes that much more.

“Hey, Weepy. Come grab a drink with your legitimately hitched favorite brother.”

“Man, I hope Dixie marries Eli soon so I have better options for this Favorite Brother category,”

This book didn’t seem quite as fast-paced as the other books I’ve read of the series. The constant stop and go of the relationship really slowed things down. The focus always seemed to get shifted away from the romance to either Sadie’s father or the impending custody battle. But the love of family always prevails and thankfully that was the case in this book as well.

This was an enjoyable read, just don’t expect a big swoon-worthy romance as there was just too much other stuff going on for that!

With an ailing father to help care for, her demanding job, and her family pulling her into a zillion directions Sadie Braddock barely has time to sleep, which means a love life is pretty much out of the question. When they learned that her father had ALS the whole family turned to her because of her medical expertise, and from there a lot of the decisions surrounding it fell into her lap, which has been more than a little stressful. Everyone has been pressuring her to go and out an live a little, maybe even date, but no one seems interesting enough to spend what little free time she has on... that is until a certain sexy hockey coach wanders into her emergency room!

Between his job, traveling for work, battling with his ex-wife, and spending what free time he has with his daughter Griffin Sullivan doesn't have time for love, or dating for that matter. But at his brother's insistence, and a chance meeting with a beautiful nurse he decides to make a little time to date, and discovers a happiness he has never known. But when his ex decides to throw a wrench into his plans, it threatens his new found happiness, and the best thing that has happened to him in a long while..

When It's Right is a dramatic and romantic page-turner that is sure to keep you enthralled from start to finish! Between the family drama, a budding new romance, and a custody battle this one comes with a load of emotion to wade through and non-stop drama to get wrapped up in, it was downright addictive. I really enjoyed this newest installment to the San Francisco Thunder series, it gave me the chance to revisit old friends, meet a few new ones, and feed my little hockey romance addiction. If you like steamy hockey tales, I highly recommend you check out this series, the men of the San Francisco Thunder are sure to have you swooning!!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and I am leaving my honest opinion.

4 1/2 STARS!

Heart-wrenching emotional drama! With the next book in the San Francisco Thunder series, we get Sadie's story. We've already gotten knee deep into this family's story with the previous books in the series, and this one plays it out further. Jude is the only boy of the family, surrounding by interfering but loving sisters ... and as the family reels from his father illness, they all rally around in support of each other. Sadie is the health professional, so she's carrying the burden of making sure the family accepts and supports her dad's decisions through it all, and it's taking a beating on her heart. When she meets Griffin, it's a breath of fresh air to have something to take her mind off of it for even just a few hours. The story line is emotionally riveting with a side of playful. Really enjoyed it!

As a single dad sharing custody of a precocious 6 year old while working the crazy schedule of a hockey coach with the San Francisco Thunder, Griffin Sullivan knows how to juggle many things at the same time. He's not actively looking for love because he was burned already, and who has the time right? When he rushes his star goalie to the ER after an injury, he meets someone who just might have him second guessing that feeling!

ER nurse Sadie Braddock is pulling her hair out left and right as she deals with a hectic job on top of all of her family drama. Since here dad's diagnosis with a horrible illness, her life as been turned upside down with a move to California, and shouldering the responsibility of keeping her family from panicking and causing their dad any further discourse through this difficult time. She's trying to keep it all together, but it's really running her ragged. Now she's met a guy who interests her for the first time in forever, but she just doesn't have the time or energy to give him what he deserves.

I love Victoria Denault’s hockey stories and I enjoyed reading WHEN IT'S RIGHT, her third book in the San Francisco Thunder series. This story has an engaging storyline and is emotional, fun and sexy.

Ever since Sadie received the devastating news that her dad has ALS, it has consumed her life. Sadie is an ER nurse and once she learns about her father's disease, she spends all her time either with her family or working. Sadie meets Griffin, the Thunder goalie coach when one of his players is brought into the hospital where she works. Even though Sadie is immediately attracted to Griffin, she knows she doesn’t have time to date.

Griffin oozes sex appeal. He is a divorced, former hockey player and is now working for the Thunder hockey team. He has a six year old daughter, who he adores and a difficult ex wife. Griffin finds Sadie refreshing. She has a sassy attitude and yet she is also nurturing and easy to get along with. Although Griffin likes Sadie from the moment he meets her, he is hesitant to get involved with her because his life is so complicated. Griffin is sweet, charming and shy and unsure of himself when it comes to dating. He stole my heart.

Griffin and Sadie have a lot of chemistry and I enjoyed all their interactions. They are each going through some life changing events and don’t have time for a relationship, but they find it impossible to ignore the strong pull between them. Sometimes you meet the right person at the wrong time. Can they make it work? Although this is an emotional story, it also has funny interactions between many of the characters, creating a nice balance to the story. This heartwarming story left me with a good feeling and I can’t wait to read more in this series.

When It's Right is the third book in the San Francisco Thunder series, featuring the Braddock siblings. This book is about Sadie Braddock, one of the sister's of Jude Braddock, a player on the Thunder hockey team. Sadie works as an emergency room nurse and has been the rock of the family since they learned their father had ALS.

Everyone wants her opinion on their father's care, and her father puts her in charge of explaining his test results and how he wants to proceed with his treatment.. It puts a lot of pressure on her, and while her family leans on her, the only person she has to lean on is Griffin.

Griffin is the new goalie coach for the Thunder. He's dealing with his ex-wife, who is trying to get full custody of their six-year-old daughter. Dating Sadie will be complicated, not only because of the battle with his ex, but because he coaches the boyfriend of one of her sisters, and her brother is a player on the team.

I liked Sadie and Griffin together, and I loved how he was her rock, the way she was the rock for her family.

It was heartbreaking to see how far Mr. Braddock's condition had deteriorated from the previous novels. The family is clearly struggling as it becomes apparent that he probably doesn't have much time left.

When It's Right has become my favorite book of the series. While it could be classified as a sports romance, it is more of a story about family and the struggles they face.

“This isn’t going to be easy, I know that. But I don’t want something that’s easy, Sadie. I want something that’s worth it.”

When It’s Right is definitely right—the right book for me at the right moment. The right characters, with the right amount of feels, and the right mix of heartache and heart-happy.

I have to say, I LOVE this series. Victoria Denault has created a family—the Braddock family—that are impossible to ignore and impossible not to root for. Their story has made me swoon and sob, and each installment so far has made me laugh and left me with a smile.

And this book was no exception. It was borderline instalove/instalust, but that worked just fine (or just right) for me because I cared for both Sadie and Griffin. I enjoyed their moments together. I understood their need to be apart. I wanted the best for them on every page and in every moment, and by the time I was flipping the last page, I was ready to proclaim this my favorite of the San Francisco Thunder series.

Whether that’s true or not… I can’t be sure. I loved the earlier books and there’s still more to come, so it’s perhaps wise to reserve judgment. But that doesn’t mean I can say this: I feel more than alright recommending you dive into this book—and series—ASAP.

“Have you always been so fucking incredible?”
“Do you always make women want to fuck you in public?”
